Of course we know that believers are the true 3rd temple as we are temples of the Holy Spirit. We also know that they will be constructing a stone temple for the Tribulation period.

The closer this stone temple is to being built, the closer we know we are to the Rapture of the Body of Christ.

I thought it might be useful to consolidate any news articles people come across about the planning and building of the Tribulation Temple.

Here is an article about a group of women that are collecting the small insects to make the dye used for the priestly garments.

Very interesting!  Looks like a lot of trouble collecting “crimson worms” … why not cut corners by just slicing open a few pomegranates … that juice is guarantee to splatter and permanently stain your clothing bright red or burgundy.

But I reckon they are following these instructions:

The ephod was made of gold, blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and fine twisted linen. Exodus 39:2

and the Kohen shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and crimson stuff, and throw them into the fire consuming the cow. Numbers 19:6

Be your sins like crimson, They can turn snow-white; Be they red as dyed wool, They can become like fleece.” Isaiah 1:18

On the hem of the ephod … you do see the pomegranate yarn balls and gold bells

This video is interesting but what is more interesting is the pictures that show the temple instruments completed….. they have everything, they are ready and have made statements the third temple can be constructed beginning now, the red heifer ashes are also ready for consecration of the third temple — that fits an awesome timetable for the middle of the trib. We will not see this third temple and Christ will destroy it, bringing in the new Jerusalem there will not be a fourth temple per Revelation 21:22-23 “I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the city’s temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is the city’s lamp.”

      Fair and educational use.

There will be a fourth temple during the 1000 years, Tammie. While it is true there will be no temple in the New Jerusalem as you quoted, don’t forget Ezekiel 40 – 48. Also look at Zechariah 14: 20-21, where it mentions those who sacrifice.

David, I know many believe that sacrifices will resume during the 1000 year reign, but I do not hold to that theory as Christ is the ultimate sacrifice. My opinion   Yet we will see, won’t we and it will be beautiful whatever God deems.

I believe there will be 7 or 8 temples.

The first was the Tabernacle in the wilderness. The second was Solomon’s temple. The third was the rebuilt temple after the return from Babylon. The fourth was Herod’s temple. (While not new, it was extensively renovated.)

The fifth is us believers. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The sixth (the number of man) is the Tribulation temple. The 7th is the Millennial temple. In eternity, the 8th temple will be the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb. 8 is the number of new beginnings.

      Revelation 21:22

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

So, there will be/are 7 or 8 temples depending on whether you classify Herod’s temple as a seperate one or not.

Arthur, you appear to be speaking of apples and oranges … the temple is both a spiritual abode and then there is the actual physical structure that God allowed to be built and completely destroyed as Christ said it would be.  So I will agree to disagree with you brother, but then we will soon see and it will be grand indeed :prayer-hands:

Yes, there are spiritual and physical temples. The physical mirrors the spiritual like many things in the Bible. There definitely will be a physical temple during the Millennium. I believe the Word of God is quite clear on that.

        The Millennial Temple

In eternity, Almighty God and the Lamb of God will be our temple. Can’t wait for that day! :yahoo:

During the millenial reign sacrifices will be made!  Will this still include animals at least on the part of mortals?!

I would think there would be animal sacrifices as it is implied in Ezekiel chapters 40-48. I also know that this is a difficult subject to understand as to why there would be animal sacrifices on the earth when Jesus is ruling and reigning.

The population of the Millennium earth will have no Satan to tempt  them (until a short time at the end) and a nearly perfect environment. Their biggest problem will be their mortal human nature, which will have to be ruled with a rod of iron.

Sacrifices never had the power to take away sin; they were simply a teaching device pointing forward to the Lamb of God. I surmise that they will have the same purpose during the thousand years, pointing backward to the cross.

That does indeed seem strange to us. Yet we do not know much about the educational or social conditions of that era. The survivors would surely pass along to their descendants some memories of the time before they were born. It might be that these sacrifices will be the primary exposure they have to the horror and ugliness of sin, and the serious consequences required to reconcile one to God, that is, the death of the innocent Lamb of God.

I can only go by what the text literally says in describing that period, even if I don’t understand why it tells us they will do that.

Death will be very rare in the Millennium. I would think that the animal sacrifices would be a good reminder of what Jesus did for us for the mortal people living at that time.

We are constantly surrounded by death in our world. I usually see dead animals on the road every day. I can open up the newspaper and turn to the obituaries. The media is obsessed with death. This won’t be the case in the Millennium.

So, just as the animal sacrifices in the Old Testament pointed forward to the once for all sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the animal sacrifices in the Millennium will point back to the once for all sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
