Starting as an egg imbedded into a woman and eventually birthed, my life as a lowly caterpillar begins.  Earthbound and lowly, my station seems fixed.  The offspring of reproduction, a life cycle of growth, change and maturity ensues.

My purpose of not remaining as a caterpillar is revealed, but rather a hidden goal of a life of transformation!  After a life cycle comes to a completion another cycle begins.  A constant state of rebirthing begins.  The death of that final cycle ushers us into a cocoon of rebirth.

In death a grave is a temporary cessation, a metaphormic chrysalis.  For as we eagerly await to hear the call of Christ our station becomes forever changed.  We emerge no longer earthbound but rather transformed into a new creature.  A creature of a different realm.  No longer bound as Earth dwelling creatures alone, but of Heavenly design.  Soaring into the Heavenly’s for a new home to sustain our new life!

Then this caterpillar named Denis is forever changed!  Becoming a butterfly named Tender Reed!

Life, death and rebirth is a constant throughout God’s creation.  This cycle seems to identify what is created by God.  As for God, He always was, is and will be!  A God with no beginning and no end!

Now being adopted sons and daughters into the family of God, our heritage is eternal life, being made like Him!  What a gift!

Indeed, it’s not about caterpillars and butterflies per se.  But about God’s graciousness towards us, His beloved.

In my own goofy way, I try to glorify God!
