Kolleen — I truly feel blessed beyond — God has given me good health, longevity, strength for the things I must get done before the Bride is removed…. It is all to His glory, nothing I can do. We are but weak, empty vessels, standing ready for the Master’s use…
I must share my Zucchini muffin recipe with you for Dan’s son — it is a great breakfast starter. Course I put everything in it but the kitchen sink — it has raisins, carrots, zucchini and is a salad in a muffin
that with an egg and breakfast is done ….. Because my week is so hectic, I have a Sunday afternoon tradition to make a weeks worth of boiled eggs in the instant pot and my zucchini muffins. My hubby cooks up sausage or bacon (been too expensive lately), we have breakfast ready for the week…..
I use my instant pot for most meals, saves time — I am a planner, organizer — never procrastinate – never put off tomorrow, what you can get done today
— it has taken many years to get that through to my hubby and he still struggles…. My children and grandchildren have inherited the “get it done gene”
from me. You should see my oldest daughter with her 7 blessings and she homeschools them all and runs the homeschooling co-op in their neck of the woods
God is so awesome, even through trials and testing, He makes a way — Life is life and things will happen, Challenges will come to us all but trusting in the Grace of our Heavenly Father makes it roll. I am an eternal optimist not because of who I am but because God has been so gracious in making me His child, I must be thankful for all that falls in my path and pray as Paul did that I honor Him in thought and in Spirit every day….. Soon this old world will be a distant memory for the Bride of Christ, what we have here will be no more. What we have waiting for us is beyond anything we can imagine and that is worth every trial, tear, and frustration that we endure here.. My new verse for this week is 2 Timothy 2:10-13 “2 Timothy 2:10–13 “Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.”

I think Tammie, Dan’s son might like your zucchini recipe – he does like to cook!
I’m not familiar with the term “instant pot?” I wouldn’t imagine that would be a “slow cooker!?”
….a wok? A….dutch oven?
Thank You Lord for blessing the Tammie clan, and making them all blessings to those You put in their paths, beginning with You and their homestead first, raising the little ones to all be like You!
Thank You Father for drawing all men to You where one day we will all meet our countless sisters and brothers in the family of God!!! We’re so thankful and grateful Lord!!!
I’m a type of non-procrastinator too. I enjoy getting things done and things being organized sparkly and clean!
But I have to say, for some, aging disabilities can certainly hinder a lot of what you’d love to be doing. Dan likes the phrase work-a-rounds! We find ways to work around pain, and enjoy what we can anyway. So looking forward to God’s Kingdom
where we will all be whole once again.
Oh and….Dan’s picking up on a few new area’s of being pro-active because of my ways too! It’s pretty cute!!

Thank you Kolleen and may God bless you and Dan as you continue to guide and direct this site as well as those in your lives. You both have been a blessing, even with Dan’s “very special” type of humor
I do get the aging part, we are not far from each other in age and I am looking forward to my new glorified body and each day I am reminded of 2 Cor. 4:16 “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” daily!
The Instant pot is a pressure cooker, probably a modern version, it is a lot safer than the ones my grandmother used. I cook rice in 10 min. 8 eggs in 9 min. A roast w/potatoes, carrots etc in 20 min. A whole chicken in 15 min — note the meat can be frozen or partially so and it only adds to the moisture.
Hope that is a bit more helpful than Yohanan — it’s amazing
— they are true, that!

Yohanan — my son gave us an Air Flyer about 4 years ago and it is truly amazing! I love cooking burgers (they are so moist, but done), in it and my fries are far better than anything you get in a fast food. Between the two (instant pot and air fryer) – makes cooking easy, fast, healthier, and clean for sure.

So Paul — you may have a wrong impression of Southerners — we love our ICE tea. But as Yohanan said — coffee is the start of the day, period — goodness, I even have a whole listing of herbal teas that I might have in the evening ….
Ice tea is made via “sun tea” – or cooked inside and you have “sweet water” (simple syrup) added to it, lemons on the side. I have friends that prefer Honey over sweet water.

Fish?
🤢 And that’s when the air-fryers suddenly malfunction.
Oh and the … mushrooms … did you see this … the FDA guidelines it’s okay for food manufacturing to add these “proteins” to the items – 20 or more maggots are considered a-okay in the mushroom cans and/or to place on dried mushrooms. 🤢 Per Trader Joe’s article on Yahoo with their recalls … in the comment section
– Fair Use –

Yep, it amazes me how they want to purposely put the gross stuff into our food! Is it to deliberately make us sick?
Speaking on making us sick, this week at the food bank someone forcefully wanted me to have … KETO Coffee pads.
Has anybody tried this kind called Bulletproof?
And I picked up these instruments for fish eating … Apparently the local store couldn’t sell the fish utensils so they donated them. I text my brother to see if he can use this stuff since he has beach parties. He never had KETO coffee and I said well now is your chance! Or give it to somebody else! 😆 So yesterday I dropped this stuff off at his vacation home. He should be here shortly.

Oh that is so sad —- I am afraid as Japan is now dumping “treated” radioactive waste into the Pacific, we may all have to give up fish or choose to glow at night
As much as I LOVE coffee, I have switched to fully leaded coffee that is guaranteed to not have any “mold” — Unfortunately even the coffee industry has it’s bugs in the system
My sweet tea and herbal tea is also lead and mold free…. What a world we are becoming
thankful that we will have the best Mana at our heavenly banquet

What’s funny is, whenever I’m around anyone who jistly says a quick pray before eating, like checking that box. (Didn’t spell ‘jistly’ correctly I’m sure)
I bring up some story from the news where a finger or rats paw was found in some guy’s soup, then I see them take that pre-meal prayer a little more serious. lol

About the contaminants in foodstuffs, it is virtually impossible to get every bit of that stuff out. Even if you pick mushrooms yourself, they have tiny things–insects, pollen, etc. in them. Real food can never be antiseptic.
Even if you grind your own oats, rice, or whatever, the flour will not be totally pure.
Farmers know this. They do their best to keep food clean, but perfection is just not possible.

I’m looking forward to the pure drinking water of heaven and the organic fruits.
I read many people complaining the watermelons this year are exploding and/or foaming and … tasteless. Since they are extremely expensive in the north (on sale $7.00 for a small one) it might be a blessing with not purchasing … I will wait for the heavenly ones perhaps as early as next month… September 1st is this Friday!

Good one! Yohanan! I typically call that kind of fruit a “fruitcake” — not my favorite kind of food or person. Have had to deal with my fair share of fruitcakes per my professional life. I typically get joked at work about making sure they are checking me for my badge when I leave the behavior health unit after seeing a patient.

I can’t find it quickly but wanted to comment on the Italian cooking.
In my 20’s I worked & lived with Italians in Canada and got to experience a wedding, a couple family reunions and not to mention business affairs. One of the reasons just like the Jewish communities, is why they are successful is they support the family. Even when someone keeps failing in business the family comes to their aid to ensure their success.
My boss & friend, his mother always loaded us up once we left her house completely full and enough “drink.” she was a little Italian lady and only spoke Italian. I enjoyed the fiery conversations in Italian even though I couldn’t understand, but Sam (short for Sal) would translate.
In Chicago we went to this little round guy’s house who also hardly spoke English and he had a spread of raw octopus and all kinds of similar stuff, there was a little cooked food but not much.
My memories came flooding in once the Italian food talk started.

I enjoyed the fiery conversations in Italian That is the truth! My grandmother’s 75th birthday party was the funniest event. The place was full of Italians all trying to talk louder than the other and the passion in their voices was quite evident. I sat on a stool and listened to them all and just couldn’t stop laughing! Of course, food was everywhere!

I know, huh. I could almost in a way follow along, body language. Find myself nodding and not having a clue to what I was nodding to lol.
I just got back from V.A. appointment for fitting of hearing aids, engine room noise, everything is so crisp now. I can hear the littlest scuffling of the feet & birds! In the car, window down, I was like, what’s that sound? It was birds.
My thought was, once we have a glorified body everything will be such a high pitch awareness, so pronounced. My knew awareness in hearing gave me that thought immediately.
On that video, wait until they introduce 15- minute cities. Everything from work, shopping, play, what have you, all within a 15-minute drive from your home, except for certain allowances. Probably based off your social score.

Yes we are! LOL My Italian heritage comes from my mom’s side of the family. Back when I was in high school I brought a date by the house because I needed to pick something up. My mom and I got into a regular, normal conversation. When it was time to leave I couldn’t find my date anywhere! Turns out she had gone back to the car. When I got in the car and started it up she asked me if I was grounded. I had no idea what she was talking about?
She said “Yeah, but you and your mom were in that terrible fight!”
If you ever saw the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding then you would say she was the “pink” people. My family is much more like the Greeks in that movie.

If you did start a fruitcake thread … I would be out numbered again
since I REALLY LOVE good fruitcake that is made correctly.
I admit I found one bad kind … at the food bank earlier this year … and I had to toss it in the trash … it was THAT pitiful bad. And they were selling them in this one Christmas catalog for $45.00! Oy Vey! I don’t understand what went wrong … somebody goof in their kitchen 101 follow the recipe. Just wasn’t traditional fruitcake every fruitcake lover enjoys and savors. The gold tins it came in were worth saving … so all wasn’t lost.
I wonder how many in heaven will love fruitcake and will there be fruitcake club festivals with tea?
