LOL … I’m actually seeing some people walking around wearing DOUBLE masks now. Kind of wondering if perchance they got the specialized “drinking hole” mask on underneath?
But that hole looks so small … I had a cherry slushie icee drink the other day and they used paper straws (plastic straws and plastic bags are a BIG no no in this state). Well … I had nothing but problems trying to get the liquid to pass thru … had to wait until the slushie ice completely melted before drinking … what a pain. Next time I’m going to ask for a spoon. Or perhaps they stopped giving those out too.

CommentaryWhen I see people walking outside, often alone with no one anywhere near them, wearing a mask, my primary reactions are disappointment and sadness.
I am disappointed because I expected better from my fellow Americans. I never thought most Americans would be governed by irrational fears and unquestioning obedience to authority. I have come to realize that I had a somewhat romanticized view of my countrymen.
Had you told me a year ago that nearly every American in nearly every metropolitan area would cover their faces for over a year because one man, one political party and the media told them to, I would have responded that you underestimate the strength of the American character.
But here we are, over a year later, and where I live (the Los Angeles area), I am usually the only person on the street not wearing a mask. (For the record, I wear a mask in stores and when entering the building in which I work, out of courtesy to those who think a person not wearing a mask poses a lethal threat.)
On the rare occasions I pass people not wearing a mask, I thank and praise them. They are invariably enthused by my reaction.
You do not need medical or scientific expertise to understand the foolishness of outdoor mask-wearing. Common sense, that great unused guide to life, suffices.
If you wear a mask, you do so in the belief that you are protecting yourself (and others) from COVID-19. So, then, why do you care if I don’t wear a mask? Doesn’t your mask protect you? If it does, my not wearing a mask may irritate you because you resent my assertion of freedom, my obvious lack of respect for government and medical authorities, and my alleged selfishness, but there would be no rational medical—that is, “science-based”—reason for your objecting to my not wearing a mask.
And if masks protect us and others, why have people been refused the right to visit a loved one as he or she lay dying alone? Why couldn’t a person—wearing the same mask a doctor, nurse, or any health care worker wears when entering your parent’s room—enter that room? There are two possible answers: One is it’s a tacit admission that masks are essentially useless. You were prevented from visiting your dying father because the hospital believes your loved one or others in the hospital might contract the virus from you, even though you were wearing a mask. Which means those running the hospital don’t believe masks actually work. The other is that the medical establishment and lay authorities have abandoned elementary human decency in the name of AOC, or “Abundance of Caution.” Forcing hundreds of thousands of people to die alone will go down as one of the cruelest policies ever adopted by American medical and political authorities.
The problem is most Americans who went to college learned to unquestioningly obey “experts.” This is why common sense, logic, and reason mean little to the well-educated—and, increasingly, to everyone else, because everyone is taught by the well-educated. All we need to know is what the “experts” say. That plus a fanatical adherence to the rule of AOC have crushed logic and reason.
The irony, however, is that “the science” doesn’t justify the fanatical commitment to mask-wearing. There are plenty of experts with evidence-based views to the contrary. Here are but a few examples:
Dr. Anthony Fauci himself told the truth about the uselessness of mask-wearing on “60 Minutes” on March 8, 2020: “Right now, in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks. … There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences: People keep fiddling with the mask, and they keep touching their face.”
Dr. Ramin Oskoui, a cardiologist in Washington at a Senate hearing in December 2020, testified under oath: “Masks do not work.” (The New York Times, Dec. 8, 2020.)
The Wall Street Journal reported on Nov. 11, 2020: “The projected number of lives saved, and the implied case for a mask mandate, are based on a faulty statistic.”
Dr. Paul E. Alexander, a Canadian epidemiologist, wrote: “Surgical and cloth masks, used as they currently are, have absolutely no impact on controlling the transmission of Covid-19 virus, and current evidence implies that face masks can be actually harmful.” (American Institute for Economic Research, Feb. 11, 2021.)
Roger W. Koops, who has a doctorate in chemistry from the University of California, Riverside, wrote: “A ‘mask,’ and that term usually refers to either a SURGICAL mask or N95 mask, has no benefit in the general population and is only useful in controlled clinical settings. Further, it has been considered a greater transmission risk than a benefit in the general population. … In the open environment, no one should be wearing face coverings.” (American Institute for Economic Research, Oct. 16, 2020.)
Finally, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine on May 21, 2020, concluded: “We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic.”
Contrary to mainstream media misinformation, the doctors who wrote that report did not later retract anything they wrote.
People say they “follow the science.” They rarely do. They follow the scientists the media tell them to follow.

The unelected health bureaucrat of British Columbia has now decreed that masks are now mandatory at all times when in a gym. Needless to say, I have frozen my membership for a month until hopefully this moronic decree is rescinded.
I severely doubt that the unelected health bureaucrat will be closing the winery she owns. Apparently, all indoor dining is banned but mysteriously enough, wine tasting is allowed.
All I know is that I wouldn’t want to be Bonnie Henry on Judgement Day.

Well … Prince Philip just passed away … he had a few health scares and amazingly survive them all … check out what did him in …

The Duke had faced a number of health scares in recent years after suffering from a bladder infection and a blocked coronary artery.
He also had abdominal and hip surgery in recent years.
He spent four days at King Edward VII hospital in London just before Christmas 2019, on the advice of his doctor and was discharged in time for the usual family celebrations in Sandringham.
In February 2021, he was admitted to the same hospital, on his doctor’s advice, after feeling unwell.
It came after the duke had received the first coronavirus vaccine, and the palace said it was not linked to COVID-19.
Funeral plans will be confirmed in the coming days.

Musician and investor will.i.am has partnered with Honeywell, the technology giant and provider of personal protective equipment (PPE), to launch a face mask with built-in fans, Bluetooth connectivity, and audio. Called the Xupermask, it goes on sale April 8 for $299, making it a long-term investment compared to the inexpensive disposable or cloth masks on the market.
The timing is notable. While the pandemic is far from over, many western countries are finally beginning to hope that life may return to some semblance of normalcy in a matter of months. By April 19, US president Joe Biden says all American adults will be eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine. In Canada and the European Union, vaccine rollouts have been slow, but efforts are underway to speed them ahead.
Still, it appears will.i.am, Honeywell, and others think western consumers could keep masking up for a long time to come.
Building a better mask for the future
“We think there will continue to be a need for masks and respiratory products even after the pandemic,” said Will Lange, Honeywell’s chief commercial officer for PPE, in an email. “We expect many people will wear masks on a regular basis for both health and—with Xupermask—fashion purposes.”The Xupermask bills itself as an “innovative smart mask for the mid- and post-pandemic world.” It comes with a 30-day supply of disposable high-efficiency particulate air, or HEPA, filters. It’s not designed for use in medical settings. (Hmmm I wonder why?) Rather it’s meant to be a more comfortable, fashionable, and functional mask for everyday users.

It’s not the only effort to build a better mask. At the end of March, the US government launched a contest offering $500,000 for the best ideas on how to redesign face masks, noting that people may not wear them because of issues such as skin rashes, discomfort, and their glasses fogging up. The prompt didn’t specify the masks as protection against Covid-19, instead saying public health agencies around the world are encouraging mask use in public areas to reduce the spread of respiratory diseases.Will western consumers wear masks after the pandemic?

The address on my post card shows the name of a local hospital. They didn’t personalize the post card … its generic with … “Local Residential Customer”.
They have the words … “More than 70,000 Vermonters have already been vaccinated. When your turn comes, get vaccinated. It’s up to you.”
They want you to sign up on-line at the Vermont health gov. website and this is where Bernie Sanders works at. They will eventually know who hasn’t registered … because I’m sure they will be keeping perfect records. Perhaps by next year they will threaten no health benefits entitled if you don’t get vaxx?

The Pretribulation Rapture of the Church will remove us before the time of Jacob’s trouble, and we will not be left here to deal with Antichrist, but that said, whatever is in that vaccine is not something I will allow in my body. I have already stared down the COVID virus, and the Lord delivered me and my family from it, there is no earthly reason for me to take a vaccine.
I met a young lady earlier in the week, someone helping plan my daughter’s wedding, and I noticed that she behind her mask was struggling for breath and seemed in quite a daze. When I asked her if she felt OK, she told me that the day prior she had taken her first COVID jab, and that she felt very out of sorts and off-balance. She looked scared, to be perfectly honest, and she certainly acted it. She had good reason to be.

It is my understanding that it is illegal to make the vaccine mandatory as it has only been approved for emergency use authorization and is not approved by the FDA yet. People on the island of St. Vincent are hoping to be evacuated by cruise ship.
The island was hit by a volcanic eruption last week, making much of it uninhabitable.Some neighboring islands are accepting evacuees only if they have taken a COVID-19 vaccine.
People on the volcano-stricken island of St. Vincent will be evacuated to certain neighboring islands only if they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19, the nation’s prime minister said.
Cruise ships have been dispatched to the island that is being partially evacuated after the 4,000-foot high volcano La Soufrière erupted on Friday.
But people have to be vaccinated before they board the cruise ship, Ralph Gonsalves, the prime minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, said at a press conference the day after the eruption.

On Tuesday Dr. Steven Hatfill, infectious disease expert, told the War Room that the medical bureaucracy blocked an effective treatment in hydroxychloroquine so they could push through experimental vaccines.
Dr. Hatfill told War Room hydroxychloroquine is proven to be effective and costs roughly 60 cents per pill. However, the existence of a proven effective treatment would not have allowed Dr. Fauci and FDA’s Janet Woodcock to expedite covid vaccines.
