Ok so I thought to start a fun string of conversation, longing, and yes, my beloved RITAN family ….. discussing what may very well become a reality very soon, our heavenly abode.

Decades ago, many of us were raised up in church hearing about our Mansions, right!

I did a dive into the very verse many of us hold near and dear to our hearts. John 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. 2In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take to myself so that where I am you may be also.”

2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

The Greek word is actually translated “abode” or “dwelling with family” dependent on structure of syntax.

Looking at the resurrected body of Christ, we may not have to eat, but we can. We can appear as needed. The perishable will be imperishable and the mortal will be immortal. So we may not be tired, no bed needed, maybe no kitchen, why need an abode when we will be with Christ. Something, not made with human hands and beyond what we can imagine  — 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

What does your Abode in heaven look like? :feedback :mail: :yahoo: :popcorn

Short answer, I don’t know and don’t care.

The glories of Heaven itself and communing directly with God will be all the beauty and I glory I’ll need.

That said, I know the Lord will provide exactly what will be pleasing to me!

I think Jesus has built a nice home for each one of us that would be just perfect. If we designed our own home it would not compare with what He has prepared for us.
However, I like to have a swimming pool. I also love a nice cozy living room with very comfortable couches, nice coffee tables, and a cozy fireplace.

I think it will be like individual villa suites with balconies that overlook the ocean/pool and gardens and those who love the mountains/woods/lakes will have that view.  It will be a place to do our favorite hobbies, learn a musical instrument or practice singing.  Have get togethers while serving snacks :popcorn and drinking gallons of hot or cold brew-tea-ful tea.

I love what you wrote Geri. I love music and I did not get the chance to learn any musical instruments. looking forward to learning most of them in heaven.
and please invite me to your place for a nice cup of tea. I would also love a lot of European pastries with my tea.

Over the course of many years I have thought and dreamed about what Heaven would be like; so many friends and loved ones to reunite with, many rooms and dwelling places with beauty unsurpassed, joy in all things, and our Blessed Savior among us. I still think on these things but ever since my beautiful daughter Brandi went to Heaven last October, I think about her most of all. The only thought that comforts and sustains me through my grief is knowing she is there… in absolute joy and happiness, complete and loved in the presence of our Beloved Jesus; and that I will see her again. I am so thankful to Jesus that because of Him, our story is not over, only interrupted. One day, oh hopefully soon, I will look into my girl’s lovely blue eyes and kiss her face.  I miss her desperately and ache to see her and hold her again; and I am thankful that Jesus understands how this mother feels because He created us.  I long to go home now more than ever, and so whatever Heaven looks like will be fine by me…because it is who I long to see that consumes my thoughts these days. May it be soon…Come Lord Jesus…Come :prayer-hands:

Sounds wonderful, Heidi.  We can practice our lessons together … I want to learn the flute and to relearn the piano.  I had to give up the piano lessons for a few reasons including the fact my brother prohibited me from practicing while he was working on his hobby.  He had the nerve to say I not only distracted  him but gave him headaches.  So I’m hoping the music rooms are totally sound proof or we might have to space travel to a planet.

Oh the European pastries sound divine!  I love all Italian pastries!  This is my sled “hot cocoa” table so I’m hoping to see a really big one in my heavenly place so there is enough room to display all the sumptuously delicious snacks and hot cocoa and tea.  All are certainly welcome to visit.

      Churchgal,

Hang in there … soon, very soon we will see the King and you will be reunited with your beautiful daughter again!  What a joyful reunion that will be.  The separation process is very hard for us down here.  I know how you feel … I have many close loved ones up in heaven as well as high school and college friends who died in their early 20’s.  I often question why I am still stuck down here and not up there with them.  It sure gets very lonely for us and to have to endure the wait while they are all at peace and having a grand time up in heaven.

What gets me through these last days is knowing we are so close to departure and we wont have to live out our full life down here like other generations had to.

      ((Cyber hugs to you))

Thank you Geri7, it is a real comfort knowing that we won’t have to wait decades more, I am hoping and praying the wait is more like 3 days…but I will keep looking up either way.

Churchgirl, soon and very soon all of us who have beloved ones already walking on heavens highway will get to see them, what a joyous reunion. I don’t think they miss us because they are now outside of time and to them we are already there! I know it sounds like a paradox, but God gave that to me once for a sweet friend who had lost her young son tragically. We had prayed for loving peace for her and then it came out of my mouth, “he (name) does not miss you, because with God we are already there”. That was it and it was a comfort to us both in that moment. I have often pondered that and always seem to gather peace from it. God and all who are with Him are outside of time as we understand it, so I guess that’s it. Prayerfully, we will know soon.

I’m kind of an outdoor person, so my home in heaven is very simple, rustic, and full of God’s presence of peace. I want a home that looks out towards the throne of God, no frills. I to love music and hope to play and sing. I want to heal and teach during the 1000 years. I love to garden, so growing veggies without the bug battle will be a new experience. I would hope we can just fly around the universe as God redesigns it. I will leave it up to the Lord, but he knows the desire of my heart.

three days – pray Maranatha :prayer-hands:

I know we aren’t going to have a bug problem (slugs, Japanese beetles, etc. ) attacking our gardens, but I wonder about the animals … bunnies, etc. since all the animals will be vegetarian eaters.  Will there be enough food that they wont bother going into the garden fields or if they do steal a carrot, will another carrot just pop right up in its place?   B-)

Geri, if the Lord wills, I’ll grow the veggies for all the animals, if they need to eat! :good:

I don’t know where you plan to spend eternity, but in my Heaven there are no creepy crawlies!  Yuk. :good:    I also have to believe that there will be no snakes in Heaven!

I despise snakes as well …  I wonder though with the curse lifted … if they will have the use of their legs again and won’t be slithering around?  I got the shivers now just thinking about them running fast …
