If so, you have been gifted with a GREAT talent and never should take it for granted.   I wish I could hold a tune instead of sounding like a frog.  Even my puppy dog can’t stand when I’m singing … he actually howls like a wolf when his ears hears awful noises.  If I keep it up, he then quickly dives under the blankets.  That’s when I tell him “ok I will stop and play a CD of a gifted artist”.  I often wonder what its going to be like at the praise ceremonies in heaven.  Will those who haven’t been bless with singing talent finally receive some abilities or not?  Or will the ears on our glorified bodies be able to take in the noise pollution and it sounds beautiful to everyone’s ears, including the animal kingdom?  If not … for everyone’s sake … I hope I’m not assigned to singing a long solo….

I believe we will all be able to sing when we receive our glorified bodies. I am a musician. I play a variety of instruments. But I do not have a gifted voice for singing. Of all the instruments I believe the human voice is the most beautiful. Since that instrument is contained within our body it seems to me that its talent has a bigger propensity to cause us to be prideful. The way I see it, God did not give me that talent because He could see that I may have difficulty handling my pridefulness and spared me from the outcome of it. I know some people with amazing singing voices and they have their pride, as best as I can tell, in check. They are able to handle such a gift. They have not used their gift for their own glory but to glorify God. I may have ended up in a rock band singing about the garbage that most rock bands sang about, dishonoring God and myself, so as much as I love to sing I am also glad for what I have, and what I do not have.

Yes, I agree music is very powerful and is used to calm a person.

I can’t help but think of when King Saul was vexed by an evil spirit he wanted David to play his harp.

      I Samuel 16:23

“ …. David took a harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.”

I can make a joyful noise unto the Lord…emphasis on noise. I see a lot of bleeding eardrums when I sing though and have been deemed a weapon of mass destruction by the government which prohibits me from singing any more. :groan

:mdrmdr:  … I’m almost certain I will be standing by you, brother and I can just see the angels will be placing us by those talented folks, who play the drums, so our voices get drowned out in the rumbling of the drum beat

I can sing. Been studying opera and musical theatre for 27 years.

I tour a classical crossover group around the retirement communities in Florida.

We generally do oldies and pop but a few inspirational songs here and there too.

I cant wait to give Jesus His own personal concert someday!!! :D

If you want to hear me, this is one of my crossover covers: https://www.reverbnation.com/clintshepherd/song/26778826-senza-catene–unchained-melody

Taur–I must hand it to you the great vocal pipes award goes to the golden voice we just heard!!  But for those of use that need that more down to earth  sound from the hard road we have traveled-we need that Humblehorse serenade that gets the lead out and has those chord changes that fit our mood changes as we go from one level to the next in our daily struggles in life–I like the british  rock vocals that only Humblehorse can deliver– but there are times when I need that mellow  soaring  music that will bring me to a screeching halt!!   But  Scarby likes the Irish Rap Musical Band called  “Sham the Rock and the Blarney Stones”—they are Top of the Morning to ya!!   They Bloody Rock!!  Also I caught him listening to a Heavy Metal band the other day who go by the name of   “The Belching  Saqchquachians and their  Rollerskating Mammoths”–but the short version of the bands name is  “Hermans   Hobbits”!!

I’m really glad everyone is liking my singing. I’ve really put a lot of work into my art over the decades. Scott I love the British rock too brother. Grew up listening to Def Leppard and the likes from the good ol’ 80’s.

Here you go Kolleen, this is our first original song from my opera group. It’s called Via Sacra

How lovely Taureauchien! Thanks so much for sharing with all of us.

I have heard it said that in heaven we will always hear worshipful music “in the air.”

That is one thing besides Jesus I am looking forward to being surrounded with, if true.

I’ve said numerous times during my life, that I cant wait for the day when I actually see Jesus smile at me for singing to Him.

….The only thing better than that is knowing that I’ll get to do that for eternity. That’s a lot of Jesus smiles!!!

I expect in Heaven that I shall sing like a bird! Has anyone ever heard a dodo bird?

Tom has a naturally pleasant singing voice.  I’ve been told the same thing, but then the flat and off key notes seem to predominate!  Oh, did I mention about the cracking!

I can break glass and not even come near a high note!

In high school I took a singing class as an elective.  I tested as a baritone but due to scheduling I sang with a girls only troupe and sang soprano! True story.

But being the trouper that I was, I endured.   That’s just the kinda guy I was!

Now what we commonly accept as singing might be different then what we will experience in Heaven.

Through various times and cultures, singing has taken many forms.  I wonder how David sung?

Even the animals have their own versions of singing praises!  Let alone flowers and trees!
