Yes, you read that correctly! My Heavenly mansion is for sale! How many times I hear brothers and sisters go on about their mansion in Heaven. How grand it will be. How beautiful and luxurious. But mine is up for sale. You see, to me, Heaven is nothing short of looking into the eyes of Jesus. THAT, to me, is Heaven. So I do not want any structure, no matter how grand, to obscure my ability to look into His eyes!

Yes … I kind of wonder why we will need a mansion.  Being with Jesus and following Him around is heaven.

I rather be outdoors with the beauty of the golden streets and the wall foundations made out of 12 gem stones and the gates made out of pearls.  Having ALL the flowers ever created in full bloom will be amazing too.  I wonder if you pick a tulip another one will pop right up in its place?   And no dead dried up brown grass … always green.  Eating tasty perfectly ripe fruit and having fresh drinking water in the river … no garbage or pollution to spoil the scenery.

Welllllll….I don’t know what my heavenly mansion will look like, but since you’ll be without one, I’m sure all your Rita siblings will have room for you whenever you want! :stinkerbell:

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  John 14:2

The statement has a poetic quality to it, reflecting the Jewish custom of a young man adding on to the family estate a room for his new bride.  Still, there is also a need for a literal interpretation, as seen in this verse:

For he [Abraham] looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.  Hebrews 11:10

The concept of having a private, particular dwelling place in heaven is interesting, as is the notion of private property there.  We won’t need protection from the elements. And if we have mansions, or “apartments” there, then what sort of rooms are required in it?  Do we need a kitchen with cooking implements?  A bathroom?  A bedroom?  How about a garage for parking our heavenly chariots?

If we have an eternity, would we spend it collecting stuff to fill shelves?  It could get rather busy eventually.

I don’t really have an ideal home imagined in my thoughts.  I suspect I’d be content with whatever was given to me.

Yes, a relationship with Jesus would far outweigh any possessions we might contemplate.

PU, Yohanan! We might not sweat, but please let’s at least consider using a toothbrush after we eat garlic!  We can’t be sure there won’t be ol’ factories there.

I come to a place that I do not think trapped in this sinful flesh that I can even imagine how wonderful heaven and the 1000 reign will be. I do know that we will be with our Lord and Savior for ever and it will make what we now think of wonderful not compare with how truly wonderful it will be. No pain, no sickness, no sadness, eternal joy and peace in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. True peace, oh how I can not wait till we are home at last.

Being a nester, I find these verses comforting. There will be a place that we can call our own, live in, and decorate it according to our own personality.  I think it shows that we will not all be robots, that we will have a small corner of heaven we can call our own that can mimic our own uniqueness. What a kind Father to go above and beyond!  Not only does He give us heaven and eternal life, but He gives us a sense of belonging and something to call our own.

I’m a nester, but I’m also an adventurer. I know, that’s a conundrum, but I’m funny that way. So even though we will have a home base in eternity, we are also given a new heaven and earth to explore for all of eternity!  Like I said, He goes above and beyond!  Our Father spoil His children!  Lol.

I also think there will be a special place that is uniquely our own, in order to highlight the tastes and preferences of each one of us.  We aren’t all just going to merge into a collective, but display distinctive differences the way the many stars of heaven populate the sky above us.

It will be good, Yohanan, for you to have a place to live. Otherwise every time you want to spend some close time enjoying Jesus you’ll have to contend with all those rainbows and beasts and elders in the room at His palace. Moreover, presuming you might consider creating a mosaic in the floor or frescoes on the walls at your mansion, displaying your love for Him when he comes over to visit, you’ll have a room where just you two, or perhaps you, your family and He can sit together and laugh. Certainly enjoying a lot more privacy than available next to the Throne Room.

Good decision. You’re going to like the way it looks. I guarantee it!

The one thing I can imagine is needing a place to meet up with friends. Perhaps our dwelling places can serve that need.

It will be interesting to see how those who are currently introverts or extroverts might change with our upgrade.

Perhaps those who are learning a new musical instrument … they can practice in their room without feeling like they are disturbing others.

I think I’m going to need a pair as well.  On my bucket list (after the scary rollercoaster ride) is my wish to learn the … flute.  I’m hoping I can keep the high off key pitch mistakes to a minimum so they don’t trigger headaches

Indeed, whatever the Lord provides will be sufficient.  But as particular as the Lord was regarding His temple, His throne and the way He designed His own home it does speak of a celebration of individual uniqueness.  Mansion or room, certainly we shall be able to entertain and have friends over.  Moreover, for when Jesus comes to visit and hang!  Maybe even a fatted calf.  7 yrs in the Chuppah just doesn’t seem like enough personal time with the Lord.

After we are given our new names and the Lord reveals His name that only we shall know, like pet names we have for someone special in our lives.  But whenever either name is spoken, we shall immediately  be in each others presence.  Perhaps this will take place in our own abodes?!

We will glory in what He has provided, and He shall glory in what we have accomplished!  In the realm of perfect bliss and holiness, wherever we shall meet to be together will pale in the intimacies we shall share!
