I don’t believe in Jesus as a real person, but I do love the Christmas season with the Babe in the manger, the lights that represent hope, and the carols that speak of peace. Is it okay to celebrate a myth?A:
From the writings of the Rev. Billy GrahamChristmas is a time filled with anticipation and preparation. Cards are sent and received, and the thrill of wrapping and unwrapping gifts makes for a joyful time shared with loved ones. Even today, people who don’t necessarily believe personally in Jesus as the Savior of the world send cards with pictures of what artists think Jesus may have looked like. There are images of the Babe in the manger, shepherds, and animals. The world is fascinated with the grandeur of the greatest story ever told.
But it isn’t just a story. It is truth. No matter how Jesus is imagined, He has no stronger portrait than the one in the Bible. It is a picture of the man who is God. He is the foundation of Christianity. Since the quickest way to destroy any edifice is to tear out or weaken its base, people have always tried to disprove, ignore, or scoff at the claims of Christ. The hope of the world, however, is found only in the redemption from sin. This is dependent upon the deity of Christ.
While there are attacks on the celebration of Christmas in the 21st century, Christmas has been commercialized and is big business. The reality is that Jesus is truth and proclaims all people are sinners. This is why He came to seek and save those who are lost (Luke 19:10). This is the story of Christmas and this is the portrait of the Son of God. On this Christmas Eve, believe in Him and receive Him. He is the Light of the world.

Report: Attacks on Christian Churches Nearly Triple in Four Years:
Attacks on Christian churches have nearly tripled in the last four years, according to an 84-page report released by Family Research Council (FRC) in December.
Between January 2018 and September 2022, FRC found 420 documented acts of hostility against 397 separate churches in the United States. Many cases included incidences of vandalism, bomb threats, arson, and gun-related violence.
“The report documents one homicide, numerous arsons, bomb threats (real and fake), and a pervasive desecration of holy items. Vandals regularly smashed crosses, statues, and headstones in cemeteries; vandalized carvings of the Ten Commandments; set fire to a Nativity scene. . . according to the Washington Stand, FRC’s news outlet.
“They tore up a Bible and desecrated an American flag in a Primitive Methodist church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Denver’s Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church suffered two drive-by shootings this August. Smashed windows and spray-painted doors became ubiquitous.
Pro-abortion extremists executed at least 57 attacks in the first nine months of 2022 against Christian churches, a “1,140 percent increase over the past four years,” the outlet reported.
Besides abortion and the Black Lives Matter movement, FRC found that “radical pro-LGBTQ activism, support for COVID-19 church closures, secularism, Satanism, Islamic fundamentalism, and anti-Americanism also wrought havoc in parishes nationwide.”

The Salt And Light Must Not Check Out, Tune Out, Or Recoil Into Silence When The World Needs Us Most:
Recently, I’ve heard more statements of distrust. It concerns me. Have you heard it too? “I don’t know who to believe or trust. I just tune it all out. I’ve stopped listening to the Left or Right. I don’t read any news because I don’t know who’s telling the truth. I turned off the media altogether.”
Why is that a problem? Because we are supposed to be discerning salt-pourers and light-bearers. God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, and we must be as well. We are not given a choice to check out, tune out, or recoil into silence.
Tony Perkins at Family Research Council said it extremely well in his article about truth:
“When there’s hostility towards faith, it seems easier to just give up on the public square. ‘I’ll just focus on my family, my job, and go about my day,’ some think. Yet when you take that seemingly safer path, it means you’re neglecting the Lord’s instructions to be salt and light.Political and cultural engagement are part of fulfilling Jesus’s command to love our neighbors. By supporting policies like the rule of law, limited government, human dignity, parental rights, and religious freedom, we can establish the kind of conditions that allow all people to flourish.
However, the Left opposes such policies and instead wants our tax dollars to pay for abortion-on-demand and public schools to teach gender identity ideology to children as young as kindergarten behind parents’ backs.”
Salt preserves what is most susceptible to rot and decay. When we check out, tune out, or stay silent, we stop being the active ingredient that preserves freedom, hope, sanity, and peace. We allow the rot to begin or the decay to spread. When we pull back from the battle and stop speaking, participating, or standing against the tide of evil, we cease to dispel the darkness.
The world hates the Light. Jesus promised us nothing less, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (John 15:18-19; 17:14; 1 John 3:13).
Church, this is our moment! Be His voice in the silence. Be His light in the darkness. Be His salt in the time of decay and tastelessness.
Believers, this is our moment. We’re surrounded by darkness. Lies, deceit, and moral depravity are everywhere. Some Christians bemoan the darkness and lament the decay, but that is the wrong response. It’s not time for depression, anxiety, and timidity. It’s time for offense!

What is Christmas Without Christ?:
The ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBCPBSNPR Cartel tells us constantly that we now live in a post-Christian America. They exalt in proclaiming the end of Christ’s dominant influence on Western Civilization. As a result, we’ve descended from a city on a hill to a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. Our elites call evil good and good evil.
Ever since the nine black-robed masters of America decreed back in 1962 that God was expelled from school we’ve witnessed the steady degradation of our society. The coarseness and vulgarity we’re deluged with on a daily basis was unknown in earlier days.
Back in the dream time we used to go to Christmas programs at our children’s schools and listen to the little darlings sing The First Noel, Oh Little Town of Bethlehem, and O Come O Come Emmanuel. Now we listen to them sing songs in foreign languages. . . intermixed with a few songs about winter, snow, or maybe animals. It may all be Woke but it sure doesn’t have anything to do with the reason for the season.
Just in case all the tinsel and the twinkling lights have blinded us to what that reason is, let me elaborate.
Christmas is all about Jesus the Christ born as a human so that he could bear the sins of the world, die a substitutionary death in our place, rise triumphantly from the grave and ascend into heaven so that we who believe can live in and through Him. That’s what it’s all about.
Not to be Grinch, let me wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Let’s enjoy our family and friends. Let’s celebrate our traditions as we remember Jesus is the reason for the season. Let’s wake up and smell the frankincense and myrrh for without Christ in Christmas all we have is “mas.”

China deployed 71 warplanes to skies around Taiwan in a chilling ‘strike drill’, then blamed the US for ‘provocations’ and ‘collusion’ with the self-governing island – in one of the biggest daily incursions to date.
Sixty fighter jets took part in the drills, including six Su-30 warplanes, some of China’s most advanced, Taipei’s defense ministry said in a Twitter post on Monday.

In his study of snowflakes, he learned that almost all snow crystals have six similar branches, and a few very rare ones have three. He at first expected that all snowflakes would be the same, but was surprised to learn that all of those he examined were different. Bentley concluded that, to the best of his knowledge, no snowflake “was an exact duplicate of any other snowflake!,” adding “with profound humility, we acknowledge that the Great Designer is incomparable and unapproachable in the infinite prodigality and beauty of His works.”

Tehran Times published an article describing how Iran developed its missiles and distributed them to its allies throughout the Middle East.
Iranian pro-government media published an article on Sunday bragging about its “integrated missile network” and how it has armed the “resistance” in the Middle East.
By “resistance,” the report was referring to a network of pro-Iranian groups and proxy groups it supports, particularly Hezbollah, the Palestinians and Yemen.

S.Korea Fires Shots, Scrambles Jets After North Sends Drones Near Seoul:
A rare and hugely significant incident occurred Monday along the heavily fortified border which separates the Korean peninsula. South Korea’s military has confirmed it fired warning shots and scrambled jets after the north sent drones that violated the south’s sovereign airspace.
It marks the first such major territory-breaching incident in a half-decade, also resulting in Seoul sending surveillance aircraft across the border in response. The North Korean drones penetrated deep into the south’s territory, resulting in civilian commercial flights being temporarily grounded in and around Seoul.
“South Korea’s military detected five drones from North Korea crossing the border, and one traveled as far as the northern part of the South Korean capital region, which is about an hour’s drive away, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said,” according to The Associated Press.
“The military responded by firing warning shots and launching fighter jets and attack helicopters to shoot down the North Korean drones,” the report based on official military statements continues. “The attack helicopters fired a combined 100 rounds but it wasn’t immediately known if any of the North Korean drones were shot down, according to the Defense Ministry.”
Only one of the five drones was observed flying back across the border into North Korea, while the others disappeared from radar, according to the south’s Joint Chiefs.
“Our military will thoroughly and resolutely respond to this kind of North Korean provocation,” Maj. Gen. Lee Seung-o, spokesman for the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a press briefing.
Tensions along the militarized border have already been high due to Pyongyang firing off a record number of ballistic and other missiles this year, including a pair fired last week toward Japan. With now days left in 2022, analysts have tracked over 90 missiles fired this year.

US troops’ fingerprints, eye scans sold on eBay:
Military devices with biometric data on thousands of people, including Americans, are being sold to the highest bidder on eBay, putting troops and their helpers at risk and raising questions about why the data isn’t better protected.
U.S. troops used the handheld “biometric capture” devices to collect fingerprints, iris scans, and other data that could identify people in foreign countries. Now, some of those devices are being put up for public auction, complete with biometric data collected on the battlefield, the New York Times reported.

“It was disturbing that they didn’t even try to protect the data,” Matthias Marx, one of the hackers, said of the U.S. military. “They didn’t care about the risk, or they ignored the risk.”

The Daily Mail reports that numerous Tesla owners have reported being unable to access their vehicles due to frozen door handles during a severe winter storm in Canada and the United States. Rachel Modestino, a meteorologist from Ontario, experienced this issue firsthand on December 23 when temperatures reached a low of 5º F and her car’s door latch failed to function.
Modestino’s situation gained significant attention on social media, as a video she posted of her struggle with the frozen door handle has garnered over 10.1 million views on Twitter. In the tweet accompanying the video, Modestino quipped, “Bet ya didn’t think of ice in the Tesla design.”
Modestino’s viral tweet sparked a response from both Tesla critics and supporters. Some offered their support and suggestions on how to open the frozen door, including using the car’s accompanying app to remotely unlatch it. I have clients’ stores getting looted in Buffalo because they essentially told the whole county that police wouldn’t be out patrolling,” Buffalo-based insurance salesman Mike Sperrazza said.

WATCH: Huge Crowd Attends Reading of Faith-Based Children’s Book Despite Library’s Attempt to Stop Event:
Adults and children filled the Indianapolis Public Library’s main branch on Thursday to hear actor, writer, and film producer Kirk Cameron read his recently published children’s book, As You Grow.
The library organization initially denied Cameron the opportunity to read the book for its story hour but later caved and allowed the event to happen.
A video recording shows a long line of people walking into the building, and photos capture families sitting on the floor and standing against the wall.
“This was the largest event held at the library in its 137 years of existence,” Zac Bell with BRAVE Books, who is with the book’s publisher, commented. “The turnout was phenomenal! We were blown away.”
Cameron’s book centers around a tree’s growth and teaches children about family, faith, and biblical wisdom.
According to Bell, the Indianapolis Public Library “originally denied us the ability to book the reading. We sent them a letter that threatened legal action and they backed down.”
Meanwhile, Cameron and his publisher recently criticized libraries that will not allow a public reading of his book but offer “drag queen story hours” for children.
However, “No more will the family of faith be shut out from the public square!” Cameron wrote in a social media post Wednesday.

Chinese fighter jet threatens American aircraft in international airspace, prompting evasive maneuvers:
A Chinese communist fighter jet buzzed a U.S. Air Force RC-135 aircraft in international airspace last week, prompting the American spy plane to take evasive maneuvers.
U.S. Indo-Pacific Command issued a release on Thursday noting that a Chinese Navy J-11 fighter pilot came dangerously close to a USAF aircraft on Dec. 21 during an intercept over the South China Sea. The communist jet flew in front of and within 20 feet of the nose of the RC-135.
The interception and subsequent provocation took place while the American plane was conducting legal, routine operations in international airspace.
A similar incident took place between a Chinese fighter jet and an Australian plane in the area this past summer.

A woman who was arrested for a silent prayer in front of an abortion clinic in the U.K. says she was taken to the police station and questioned about her thoughts, according to a new video released online.

Democrat Gov. Hochul Legalizes Composting Human Remains in New York:
New York is now the sixth state in the nation that has legalized the practice.
The bill was introduced by Democrat State Assembly Member Amy Paulin and Democrat State Sen. Leroy Comrie. It states that “Natural Organic Reduction accelerates the process of biological decomposition in an above-ground container, naturally converting human remains to soil. The method will provide New Yorkers with the option of choosing an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective alternative to burial and cremation. Natural Organic Reduction was legalized in Washington State in 2019 and is currently going through legislative efforts in other states.”
“Like most bills in Albany, there were no public hearings allowing New Yorkers to weigh in on the pros and cons of the bill. It was all done behind closed doors,” Poust added. “The average New Yorker has no idea this bill was introduced, let alone passed.
The process takes 60 days and works by placing a person’s remains in a vessel and filling it with a mix of wood chips, alfalfa, and straw.
The New York State Catholic Conference has vehemently opposed the bill.
“Composting is something we as a society associate with a sustainable method of eliminating organic trash that otherwise ends up in landfills. But human bodies are not household waste, and the bishops do not believe that the process meets the standard of reverent treatment of our earthly remains,” Dennis Poust, executive director of the New York State Catholic Conference, told the Catholic Courier.Democrat Gov. THIS WILL NOT END WELL: Communist Chinese Scientists Explore Using MOSQUITOS to Distribute VACCINES, Could Create Dangerous MUTANT Insects Instead:
Designing a killer virus evidently was just a little test run for the Chicoms. Now they might unleash mankind’s most notorious insect to supposedly “vaccinate” wildlife and reduce viral infections.
Hard to imagine any unintended consequences will occur. It’s not like mosquitos spread nasty infections like Yellow Fever, Malaria, West Nile, and Dengue Fever to humans.
The South China Morning Post reported Wednesday that Chinese scientists claim they found a way to turn the disease-carrying nuisance into an indispensable ally of all humanity. Of course, this required them to create a few genetically modified insects.
Here are their findings. No question they applied this trial with the same rigor and caution as their other gain-of-function research projects:
“The researchers found that bites in wildlife from genetically modified mosquitoes triggered a strong, long-lasting immune response. Once immunized, the animals resisted infections, thus helping to prevent the early spread of many viruses, including the once widespread Zika virus (ZIKV).”
“In their study, the researchers used CYV as a vaccine vector to construct a chimeric vaccine, which contains proteins from a different virus. They took several proteins from CYV and inserted them into ZIKV cells to create the CYV-ZIKV virus, which was not infectious (in animals, human impact unknown). CYV-ZIKV could replicate efficiently in mosquitoes and be secreted in saliva, they said.”
But don’t worry about this virus reaching mosquitos in the wild. Chinese scientists assure us they took care of the problem. You can trust the Chicoms, right?

As Berkeley’s administration has conceded, nine Berkeley Law student groups amended their bylaws this academic year to prohibit Zionist speakers. It is important to be perfectly clear about what this means. An expert on real estate law would not be permitted to impart real estate expertise to any of these groups if they also support the existence of one Jewish state among 22 Arab countries in the Middle East. Interesting observations today as I went to Costco — they have been out of eggs for 3 weeks at our local Costco. They’ve reclaimed the space with milk products. That section of the store used to be jammed with all sorts of dairy and eggs — not there’s hardly anything in that section. A package of chicken breasts — I couldn’t find any for under $36. Some beef prices are lower than chicken! After Costco I went to a regional grocery store (WinCo) and they had a limit of 1 12 pack of eggs per customer, or 1 package of 60 eggs (which is usually what I get). For 60 eggs the price is now $17.99 (twice what it was a year ago) and there were no limits on how many 60 packs you buy. however if you buy a 2nd 60 pack the price goes up to $27.99. Stores seem to be camouflaging missing items by spreading the stock they do have out across the empty spots that were once filled with other items. Our local RiteAid looks like a store in a 3rd world country — 70% of the shelves are bare.

Todd, have you tried Walmart super center for the chicken? I bought Tyson’s all natural chicken breasts already cut up to do the stir fry for $5.00. The rest I froze good for 4 other meals. To me that is dirt cheap compared to what the other grocery stores are selling.
Walmarts brand of saltine crackers $1.59 a box all the other stores are charging over $5.00 for their brand.
If you need toilet paper … go to Dollar General … I just bought 4 rolls for $1.00. Got to go down the $1.00 aisle to find it. It was mixed in with the other things. Certainly a good bargain … good size roll and feels like Charmin brand.
Eggs … This morning I just got 3 dozen free eggs from the local drive thru food bank. They are good until March 3rd. I can’t buy eggs in the store … it’s untouchable. I would check into your area for the local drive thru food bank … its for anybody. I see out of staters also in the line. So many just don’t realize they qualify … no questions asked other than how many in your family and then they load up your trunk.

Chaos in Brazil: Protesters Storm Capital, Destroying Supreme Court and Congress:
Thousands of opponents of socialist convicted felon President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stormed his offices and the headquarters of the Congress and Supreme Federal Tribunal (STF) of Brazil on Sunday, reportedly demolishing the facades of two of the three buildings and causing “irreparable” damage to priceless artifacts in the chambers.
The riot in Brasilia occurred while Lula himself was in Sao Paulo state assessing the damage of recent floods. Lula, in a public statement following police action to subdue the protesters, announced an official “federal intervention” in Brasilia – consolidating the public security powers of several agencies into the hands of a hand-picked, top-level official – and accused police of acting in “bad faith” in failing to prevent the protesters from storming the buildings.
The incident is an offshoot of months of protests following the October presidential election that saw Lula narrowly defeat then-incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro in two rounds of voting. Most protesters support Bolsonaro but, more broadly, oppose Lula’s victory as illegitimate on several grounds, including his multiple convictions on charges of corrupt acts occurring during his first two terms as president. An audit of the 2022 runoff presidential election, which featured only Bolsonaro and Lula as candidates, by the Armed Forces of Brazil concluded that no guarantee could be made of the absence of fraud or irregularities.
Once in the building, protesters set part of the Congress on fire, and destroyed several offices. Authorities have not yet at press time estimated the total damage to the building, though multiple Brazilian news outlets have cited eyewitness accounts to conclude it was significant.

Report: Human Error and Software Meltdown Caused Bumbling FAA’s Shutdown Fiasco:
The FAA ordered a nationwide halt to domestic flights in the United States on Wednesday morning due to a major software meltdown. The error that led to this failure reportedly was caused by an engineer replacing one file with another while working on the system. One FAA official stated, “It was an honest mistake that cost the country millions.”
Redundancies would have likely prevented the cascading failures if the FAA’s new NOTAM system had been in place, but the senior FAA official claimed that the current outdated system was unable to prevent the error.
Hearings before Congress are anticipated, and the pace of system replacement may be accelerated. Buttigieg explained that there “was an issue with irregularities in the messages that were going out” overnight when asked what caused the system to crash. However, more information is still needed to determine what caused the widespread failure.
“Now we have to understand how this could have happened in the first place. Why the usual redundancies that would stop it from being that disrupted, did not stop it from being disrupted this time, and what the original source of the errors or the corrupted files would have been,” Buttigieg said.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE Thursday evening.
Earlier Thursday TMZ reported that Lisa Marie Presley, the 54-year-old daughter of Elvis Presley, went into “full (cardiac) arrest” at her Los Angeles area home Thursday morning. TMZ said Presley was given epinephrine and had a pulse before being taken to the hospital.
Lisa Marie Presley appeared to be in good health earlier this week.

The podcaster told former CIA agent Mike Baker on a recent episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience” that leftist billionaire George Soros, 92, “wants crime to flourish” and “funds corrosion.”
“He donates money to [someone] very progressive, very leftist — whether it’s a DA or whatever politician — and then funds someone who’s even further left than them to go against them, and just keeps moving it along.” “He’s playing like a global game … and he enjoys doing it,” Rogan added.

The Creepy Cult Surrounding the Gas Stove Panic Gets Exposed:
If you’ve been on social media the last day or so, you’ve probably noticed there’s a moral panic occurring over gas stoves. According to Democrats far and wide, they are dangerous, cause asthma, and must be banned by the federal government.
. . . in the span of just 24 hours, Ocasio-Cortez saw some questionable study, promoted it on the internet, gained legions of supporters for her position, and then tried to pretend that everyone else had been ignoring her desperate calls. As Charles W. Cooke notes, it’s cultish behavior.
What makes this even dumber is that all the Democrats currently pushing for a ban on gas stoves apparently have them. If they are so dangerous, why didn’t Elizabeth Warren, Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, and others get rid of their gas stoves years ago? Could it be because this entire discussion is completely manufactured?
The company behind the study is called “Carbon-Free Buildings.” That company is a partner of the World Economic Forum and has a true-believer CEO who wants to rid the world of all carbon emissions (which is impossible and would lead to mass extinction).
Now, it’s all starting to make sense. Is this moral panic over gas stoves really about children and asthma? Of course, it’s not. Rather, it is yet more nonsense from the WEF and its like-minded corporate underlings regarding climate change. It’s obvious, in my view, that the citation of health risks being bandied about currently is just a convenient cover to try to force more people off forms of energy that rely on fossil fuels (i.e. natural gas).
The climate change cult is just using this “study,” which I wouldn’t trust as far as I can throw it, to accomplish its ultimate goal. But what’s scary here is how quickly they were able to mobilize. A study gets put out, Ocasio-Cortez and others run with it, and suddenly the federal government is trying to tell you what stove you can cook on. There’s a certain psychotic efficiency to the modern left, and it shouldn’t be brushed aside.

Cellphone video captured a confrontation involving a Mall of America security guard telling a man wearing a “Jesus Saves” T-shirt that his shirt is “offending” shoppers at the famously large mall in Bloomington, Minnesota — and the guard ordered the man to remove the shirt or leave the mall.
The back of man’s shirt reads “Jesus is the only way” and includes the well-known “coexist” symbol crossed out, the outlet said.
“Jesus is associated with religion, and it’s offending people,” a security guard tells the man in one clip, adding that “people have been offended.”
The guard then tells the man to remove his shirt or leave the mall. The man asks what’s wrong with the shirt, and the guard replies — with his voice still raised — that “it is religious soliciting; there is no soliciting allowed on mall property, which is private property!”
As it happens, the outlet added that the Mall of America hosted and promoted a drag show for “all ages” about a year ago year in its “iconic rotunda.”

Moore defended the ban by saying the Thin Blue Line has been “hijacked” by “extremist” groups. He claimed that he received a community complaint this week about the presence of the Thin Blue Line flag in the lobby of the police station. The complaint alleged that the Thin Blue Line flag “symbolized support for violent extremist views.”
Commissioner Ed Graham claimed, “When you wave this flag, it is just like for African Americans the waving of a Confederate flag.”

Abortions in Texas plummet nearly 99% months after Dobbs ruling
A pro-life advocacy group estimated that approximately 50,000 lives have been saved in Texas since September:Abortions in Texas dramatically decreased in the months following the overturning of Roe v. Wade last June, according to recent state data.
Only three abortions took place in Texas in August 2022, all of which were “medically necessary,” according to statistics from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Compared with the 2,596 abortions recorded in the state in June 2022, the number in August represents a decrease of nearly 99%. Sixty-eight abortions were performed in July. Statistics from September through the end of last year have not yet been released.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott backed the state’s ban on most abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. Under a law he signed in 2021, abortion in the state is permissible only if the life of the mother is endangered.
