‘Consider the cultural implications’: USA Today warns that using words like ‘aloha’ and ‘hola’ could be problematic:
While many Americans sprinkle non-English vocabulary into their everyday speech, a piece posted by USA Today suggests that using words borrowed from other languages, such as “aloha,” “hola,” and “shalom,” could potentially be problematic, depending on why and how they are used.
“It’s a greeting or a farewell, but the meaning is deeper,” director of Pacific Islands Studies at the University of Utah Maile Arvin said about the Hawaiian word “aloha,” according to the outlet. “One of my Hawaiian language teachers taught it to me as ‘Aloha means recognizing yourself in everyone and everything you meet.'”
The USA Today piece, which was authored by David Oliver, suggests that non-Hawaiians using the word could come across like mockery.
“Language is too critical to our culture, that we can’t just casually use language in ways that might offend and/or even harm, do harm to certain groups of people,” director of the Frederick Douglass Institute of African & African-American Studies at the University of Rochester Jeffrey McCune said, according to USA Today.

Yet, this false threat is the rallying cry of the Davos elite and their continuing demands for freedom-crushing centralization.

Report: Microsoft to lay off 11,000 employees:
Microsoft is preparing to axe thousands of jobs in the latest move by one of the world’s biggest technology companies to reduce its workforce in the face of a slowing global economy, Sky News reported on Tuesday.
The US software giant could announce plans to cull a significant number of posts around the world within a matter of days, the report said.
Microsoft, which employs more than 220,000 people, including 6,000 in the UK, is said to be contemplating cutting roughly 5% of its workforce, which if accurate would equate to approximately 11,000 jobs, according to Sky News.
The report comes after a slew of large tech companies have laid off employees in recent weeks. One of these companies is Amazon, which announced plans to lay off more than 18,000 employees earlier this month. Salesforce, the cloud software provider, said it would cut 8,000 jobs, while Meta, the owner of Facebook, is reducing its workforce by approximately 11,000 roles.

Microsoft’s New AI Can Mimic Anyone’s Voice! Here’s Why VALL-E Concerns Experts:
The tech giant manufacturer quietly introduced the new artificial intelligence. There were no press releases or other big announcements for the technology.
But this is not the problem. Experts shared their concern about the ability of the new VALL-E to mimic anyone’s voice.
Via its Github demo page, Microsoft wrote that the new AI could copy an individual’s speaking style. VALL-E can do this by listening to a three-second audio recording. “VALL-E emerges in-context learning capabilities and can be used to synthesize high-quality personalized speech with only a 3-second enrolled recording of an unseen speaker as an acoustic prompt,” said Microsoft.
Surprisingly, the TTS tech could copy the diction and speakers’ speech. Most of VALL-E’s audio is so similar that you won’t notice any differences from the original ones.
This is where the problem starts. Many experts said that if scammers and other cybercriminals can create a similar technology, they can easily copy the voices of their victims. Just imagine answering a call from strangers. After that, your voice is already being used for malicious campaigns.

Study: Law Forces Prosecutors to Dump 69% of NYC Criminal Cases:
A law has forced prosecutors to drop cases in New York City, which has only added to its crime problem, according to a study. The issue resulted in suspects being freed without facing consequences, the New York Post reported Thursday.
The rate at which cases were dismissed citywide rose from 44% in 2019 — the year new “discovery” rules were adopted by state lawmakers — to 69% by mid-October 2021, the Manhattan Institute finds in the report, set for release Thursday.
For misdemeanor cases, the increase was even more dramatic, jumping from 49% to 82% during the same period, according to official data cited by the conservative think tank.
Social media users expressed their opinions on the matter, one writing, “NYC needs another Giuliani to clean house.”
“It’s appalling how broken the justice system is with the radical policies democrats impose. They empower criminals at the expense of the innocent,” another said.
The statute has correlated with intensifying crime and a decrease in arrests being made, the study continued:
In New York City, adult felony arrests fell by 14% between 2019 and 2021, while NYC shootings rose by 102% and murders rose by over 51%. Citywide, felony and misdemeanor drug arrests combined fell by over 48%—even though illegal drug activity expanded, evidenced by drug overdose deaths up by nearly 80%.

Egg smuggling into the US increases, border authorities report amid soaring inflation:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently announced a rise in egg smuggling into the country amid soaring poultry costs and inflation.
According to CBP’s reports, egg products and poultry seizures at the southern border were up 108% from October 1 to December 31 last year. The Economic Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture noted that during that same period, the price of a dozen eggs increased from $3.50 to $5.30 due to an avian flu outbreak that forced farmers to put down 43 million chickens.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in December 2021, the average cost of a carton of a dozen eggs was $1.79, compared to $4.25 in December 2022 – a 137% increase.
“The San Diego Field Office has recently noticed an increase in the number of eggs intercepted at our ports of entry. As a reminder, uncooked eggs are prohibited entry from Mexico into the U.S. Failure to declare agriculture items can result in penalties of up to $10,000,” De La O wrote.
According to CBP, uncooked eggs are prohibited from entering the U.S. from Mexico because of the risk of bird flu and Newcastle Disease. As a result, eggs seized at the border are incinerated.
With rampant drug smuggling and a migrant crisis at the open southern border, De La O’s Twitter post led some users to question CBP’s priorities.

India Overtakes China As World’s Most Populous Nation:
At this point, what we have been speculating about for months looks to be official: India has already passed China as the world’s most populous nation.
Citing estimates from the World Population Review, an independent organization focused on census and demographics, India’s population was marked at 1.417 billion as of the end of 2022. This marks 5 million more than the 1.412 billion people reported by China. according to reporting by Bloomberg and the SCMP.
China’s figure marks the first population decline for the country since the 1960s. [Due to their one-child policy.]
Half the population is under the age of 30 in India, the report notes. Nearly 800 million people “still rely on free food rations from the government,” however. He says that he is not allowed to chauffeur the VIPs around in an EV because “they are dangerous.”
So – EV’s for the commoners and fuel cars for the ‘elites’ !! This is going to have major repercussions because it affects huge car manufacturers the world over. If the ‘elites’ deem EV’s dangerous, there is no way Joe Public is going to buy one.

Since the 2020 summer riots, when vandals caused billions of dollars in damages, there have been at least 275 attacks against Catholic Churches in the United States, reported CatholicVote Civic Action, a nonprofit advocacy organization.
While the rioting and looting were winding down at the end of the summer, the targeted attacks against churches were just ramping up.
The more than 275 attacks against Catholic Churches since May 28, 2020, included arson, damaged and destroyed property, graffiti, and shattered windows. According to CatholicVotes, churches across the nation have been spray-painted with satanic messages, and religious statues have been decapitated. [And remember Notre Dame Cathedral in France in 2019, was burned and had statues decapitated– the fire was widely reported on, although the statues’ damage was not publicized.]
The widespread attacks occurred with more frequency following the leak of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in May 2022.
Since then, churches have been vandalized and spray-painted with pro-abortion messages at least 118 times. Churches in 42 states and Washington D.C. have been targeted. Some of those houses of worship have been hit multiple times.

Per mile traveled, our British friends are now paying more to charge their electric cars than to gas them up.
Rapid charge points used by motorists topping up on long drives are now nearly £10 more expensive than filling up a car with petrol, the RAC revealed last week.
But research from the AA published on Monday finds that recharging an electric car even using a slow public charger at peak times can be more expensive, per mile driven afterward, than for refuelling a comparable petrol car.
But at least these smug electric car drivers are decreasing their carbon footprint. Oh, wait, they aren’t… You can’t make electricity without burning fossil fuels, so…. Question: What’s left to feel smug about after it costs more to drive your electric car than a car-car?
Well, I guess you can pretend to feel all kinds of virtuous about saving Mother Earth in your Prius, but Global Warming is a hoax. So … you’re not saving anything. You’re certainly not saving money — lol. What’s more, no matter how much denial you conjure up, fossil fuels are still being burned to supply you with the electricity for your car, which, by the way, costs more than filling up your car with fossil fuels.

China Is Using QR Codes On Kitchen Knives In Order To Track Them:
Throughout the last decade, China’s technological surveillance systems have strengthened the grip of control the CCP has on its citizens. Its facial recognition systems can track the majority of its citizens and even fine them for petty violations such as jaywalking but people aren’t the only thing that the CCP is tracking.
Since 2017, China has been tracking kitchen knives by putting QR Codes on them.
A knife salesman in the city of Aksu, who was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, stated he has spent thousands of dollars on mechanical machines that put a customer’s photo, ethnicity, ID Number and address into a QR code which is then placed on the blade of the knife.
The CCP claims they place the QR codes on knives in order to track a knife back to its owner if it’s used for a crime.
Many China analysts believe the QR code is being used to prevent any uprising from occurring against the government.
Anyone who is advocating for guns to be banned in the United States should be careful what they wish for because their kitchen knives could one day be tracked if the 2nd Amendment was ever abolished.

Report: 5,621 Christians Murdered for Their Faith in 2022:
ROME — Christian persecution spiked around the globe in 2022, Open Doors reveals in its newly released World Watch List 2023.
Among the sobering statistics included in the annual report were the murders of 5,621 Christians for their faith, the profanation of 2,110 Christian churches and buildings, and the stunning number of Christians around the world who face high levels of persecution and discrimination: 360 million.
Topping this year’s list is North Korea, an officially atheist communist state that remains “a brutally hostile place for Christians to live” and where “believers are either sent to labor camps as political prisoners where the conditions are atrocious, or killed on the spot,” the reports states.
In Somalia, the “violent insurgent group al-Shabaab has repeatedly expressed its desire to eradicate Christians from the country,” the report notes, and Islamic militants have “intensified their hunt for people who are Christian and in a position of leadership.”
Yemen, third on the Watch List, is another country where Islamic extremism is the principal driver of Christian persecution.
Islamic extremism is pervasive throughout the list and nine of the top ten nations for Christian persecution are Muslim dominated. In countries such as Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Libya, and Afghanistan, Islamic extremism is the driving force behind anti-Christian violence and oppression.

SANDAG’s new plan refuses to build the road improvements promised in their last plan but will continue to tax us until 2048 to pay for them.
SANDAG’s finance plan states, “Charging fees for the transportation infrastructure that people use—for example, charging users for each mile they drive on the highway—can change travel behavior.”

Poll finds almost a quarter of Millennials get their rent paid by their parents, others get groceries, utilities paid:
A poll measured how many Millennials are getting their bills paid by their parents and found that nearly one-fourth got help with paying the rent.
The OnePoll survey conducted on behalf of Chartway Credit Union found that 24% of Millennials said their parents pay their rent.
A previous poll from Pew Research found in September 2020 that a majority of adults between the ages of 18 and 29 years old were living with one or both of their parents. That rate had not been seen since the Great Depression era, but many blamed the surge on the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown.

Is the DOD Unprepared for Earth’s Magnetic Pole Shift?:
While the Department of Defense is spending billions to counteract climate change, no one is talking about a real geologic phenomenon. Scientists have revealed the Earth’s magnetic poles are moving. That sounds significant, yet very little is being said in national security circles about what the magnetic poles switching places might do to weapon systems that may be influenced by magnetic poles wandering about the globe.
“Earth’s magnetic field is governed by the flow of materials in our planet’s core, and it seems that two competing magnetic ‘blobs’ along the outer core are pulling at the magnetic north pole,” science contributor Eric Mack wrote in Forbes. Scientists believe they’ve uncovered what may be causing the shift, “which has implications for everyday navigation and mapping systems among other things,” Mack explained. The center of the planet is a solid iron sphere surrounded by molten iron that flows. Dynamic pressure is exerted in this deep terrestrial realm by the two magnetic areas, one under Canada and one beneath Siberia, and the Siberian region is pulling the Canadian area toward it. Consequently, the focus of polar magnetism is centering in Russian Siberia.
“This is why the North Pole has left its historic position over the Canadian Arctic and crossed over the International Date Line. Russia is winning the ‘tug of war,’ if you like,” Dr. Phil Livermore of Leeds University explained to the BBC. Leeds geoscientists have measured the speed at which the Canadian pole is moving toward the Siberian at approximately 30-40 miles a year. Meanwhile, geophysical forces are in motion at the core of the Earth.
“A team of researchers from China believe the Earth’s inner core has reversed its rotation after they analyzed earthquake-driven seismic waves as they pass through the Earth … [R]esearchers said the reversal of the inner core rotation would shorten the length of the day by a fraction of a millisecond over the course of a year and might have a small effect on Earth’s magnetic field but wouldn’t affect life on the surface.”
Scientists conclude that the planet’s core is slowing and possibly reversing direction, and the magnetic poles are shifting. NASA scientists have written about the shift with an air of reassurance that no catastrophic consequences will result. NASA explained: “the Earth’s magnetic field has flipped its polarity many times over the millennia.” In other words, the North Pole has moved South, and the South Pole has moved North, as the title of the agency’s article suggests: “2012: Magnetic Pole Reversal Happens All the (Geologic) Time.” The qualifier is “(Geologic) Time.” So, that means not every week. “Earth has settled in the last 20 million years into a pattern of a pole reversal about every 200,000 to 300,000 years,” NASA noted. And it has been twice that long since the last magnetic shift.
Though the fossil records show no “dramatic” effects when the last shift occurred approximately 600,000 years ago, there were no highly sophisticated mapping and navigation systems that depended on Magnetic North and South to be reliable at the time. However, now we have become hostage to satellite navigation, and anti-satellite weapons could take out that capability. It seems the United States would be at a disadvantage having to depend on ground-based systems for precision weapons and location accuracy without GPS satellites and reliable magnetic poles providing baseline guidance. But the truth is, we don’t know what predicament the magnetic shift portends for our military.
More troubling is that the US Defense Department does not appear concerned. There is no funding to study the effects of a magnetic shift change, and this could leave the United States in a uniquely unprepared situation.

The “NOW” statue also hints at the satanic: a naked, golden woman with braids fashioned into horns coming out of her head as she emerges from a pink lotus, according to photos in the New York Times. Images used by Satanists and The Satanic Temple often depict Satan with goat-like horns.
Andrew Beck, of the advertising agency Beck & Stone, drew attention to the statue Wednesday in a post on Twitter.
“The statue, named ‘NOW,’ is a female figure emerging from a pink lotus,” Beck wrote. “It has braids shaped as horns with a judicial lace apron. It is meant to pay homage to Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her fight for abortion.”
According to the New York Times, artist Shahzia Sikander created the 8-foot statue as an homage to the late U.S. Supreme Court justice, an idol of the pro-abortion movement. It recently was installed on top of the Courthouse of the Appellate Division, First Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in the city.
In New York, the law allows unborn babies to be aborted for basically any reason up to birth. And in New York City, abortions often outnumber births in the African American community. Despite these dismal facts, city and state Democrat leaders are pushing to expand abortions even more. Earlier this month, city leaders announced plans to begin buying abortion pills to distribute at city health clinics, the New York Post reports.
Also notable, pro-abortion politicians’ and abortion activists’ talking points frequently now include fighting “like hell” to keep the killing of unborn babies legal, and “Hail, Satan!” sometimes gets shouted at pro-abortion protests. In recent years, The Satanic Temple also has filed numerous lawsuits that challenge laws protecting unborn babies’ lives on religious grounds. The group claims abortion is a religious ritual.

We can’t know what Joe Biden was thinking, if anything, when he uttered those words in Brussels. We can only tell you what happened afterward.
Strange disasters began to beset food processors all over the United States. In April, the next month, the headquarters of one of this country’s largest organic food distributors was destroyed in a fire. Cause unknown. The next month, in a single week, actually, two separate private plane crashes took out two separate food processing centers. One plane hit a General Mills plant in Georgia. The other plane hit a food plant in Idaho. By the way, back in February, a boiler explosion obliterated a potato processing plant in Oregon and so on.
So even people who aren’t given to connecting the dots, who don’t think of themselves as conspiracy nuts, begin to wonder, “Is there something here?” But no one could tell. The Biden administration had no answers and no way to get to the answers because they had no data. [video at link]

RIP – Actress Cindy Williams Of Iconic TV Show ‘Laverne & Shirley’ Dies At Age 75:
Cindy Williams, the actress who played Shirley Feeney on the hit 1970s sitcom Laverne & Shirley, has died at the age of 75.
Williams, along with Penny Marshall as Laverne DeFazio, enjoyed an incredibly successful run on the show, which featured the two Milwaukee brewery workers getting into all sorts of crazy situations. The two were known for incredible acts of physical comedy. Penny Marshall passed away in 2018.
Williams died in Los Angeles at age 75 on Wednesday after a brief illness, her children, Zak and Emily Hudson, said in a statement released through family spokeswoman Liza Cranis.
“The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed,” the statement said. “Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Calls For Universal School Choice:
Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling for universal school choice through the use of education savings accounts, or ESAs.
Democrats oppose school choice because their party is in bed with the teacher unions. Teacher unions don’t want public schools to have any competition, which is just what is needed to make schools better. When government has a monopoly on education, schools have no incentive to improve.
The state has already piloted a form of such savings accounts through microgrants made available to select students with disabilities in 2020. “It’s been so successful,” Abbott said of the program. The state awarded $1,500 grants to more than 65,000 students, according to the Texas Education Agency. “But that program shouldn’t be limited.”
Gov. Greg Abbott said “every child in the state of Texas” needs access to a voucher-like program that gives parents public dollars to spend on private school tuition or other educational expenses.
One of the good things that came out of the pandemic, was the increased scrutiny from parents on public schools. People who are unable to home-school should be able to choose where to send their children.

The long-extinct woolly mammoth is slated for a return to the world stage by 2027, Popular Mechanics reported Monday of biotechnology startup Colossal’s ambitious project.
Colossal Laboratories & Biosciences began making headlines again after recent press releases highlighting their work on similar projects to “de-extinct” other ancient creatures like the dodo bird.

Fake Meat Fail: Sales Collapse At Beyond Meat, Impossible Foods As 20% Of Staff Laid Off:
The fake meat industry appears to be in a death spiral as sales at plant-based ‘meat’ companies Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat have imploded. As Axios reports, “after years of hype, the tide is turning against the first generation of plant-based protein makers.”
Last year, both companies were riding high – with prime placement on supermarket shelves, and Burger King even adding an Impossible Whopper to its menu.
Sales have collapsed, however, which according to a recent Bloomberg report, has resulted in Impossible Foods planning to lay off around 20% of its workers.
Impossible Foods Inc., the maker of meatless burgers and sausages, is preparing to cut about 20% of its staff, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Impossible Foods also offered voluntary separation payments and benefits to employees at the end of 2022, said the person, who asked not to be named discussing private information.
Beyond Meat’s sales fell over 22% in the third quarter of 2022, as the company is preparing to similarly cut 20% of its workers. The company has also lost several executives. According to the report, supermarket sales fell by 15% y/y as of Jan. 1 . . . Beyond Meat stock is also down around 67% vs. one year ago.Meanwhile, data from consumer-experience strategy firm HundredX suggests waning interest in general – as the percentage of shoppers polled who have eaten Impossible products and say they won’t do it again has risen.

Greenville students removed from National Air and Space Museum for wearing pro-life hats:
Parents could be taking legal action after they say their students were kicked out of a Washington D.C. museum for wearing pro-life beanies.
An attorney from the American Center of Law and Justice says 12 Our Lady of the Rosary School students and chaperones were kicked out of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum for wearing pro-life hats.
The students had just attended the March for Life Rally on Jan. 20 when they say a security guard stopped them, calling the museum a “neutral zone,” and telling them they’d need to remove their hats or leave.
“They should be allowed to wear the hats that they were wearing and to be able to express themselves,” said parent Nora Luz Kriegel. “And I felt it was very wrong that this person harassed them.”

Catholic School Suspends Teen For Stating God Created Two Genders And Protesting Against Transgender Students Using Girls’ Bathrooms:
In Western societies today, telling the truth regarding human biology can have detrimental consequences. A so-called Catholic School suspended a conservative Canadian teenager named Josh Alexander for the remainder of the school year because he refused to abandon his correct beliefs on gender and for standing up for girls uncomfortable with biological males in their restrooms.
No one should be surprised this happened in Canada, either. The country is led by a globalist authoritarian who has declared war on both people of faith and conservatives.
Alexander made clear to school officials he had no intention of starting conflicts with transgender students but simply wanted the freedom to express his views. The school, however, rendered their final judgment that Alexander’s mere attendance on school campus would damage the “well-being” of transgender students. The school refused to consider the well-being of female students forced to share bathrooms with boys.
He and his lawyer are bringing this matter to an Ontario human rights tribunal, calling it religious discrimination.

The overall response recorded 35% of U.S. parents with children under 18 saying it’s extremely or very important to them. But 70% of White evangelical Protestant parents responded by saying that it is extremely or very important that their children grow up to have religious beliefs that are similar to their own.
This compares to 53% of Black Protestant parents who expressed this view, 35% of Catholic parents, and 29% of White non-evangelical Protestant parents who say it’s extremely or very important that their children grow up to have religious beliefs that are similar to their own.
The results of the survey indicate that parents feel more strongly about passing on their religious views than their political views. Overall, 16% of parents say it’s extremely or very important that their children grow up to have political views that are similar to their own.

If people that lived 50 or 60 years ago could see us today, what would they think of our culture? I believe that the performance of “Unholy” at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night will go down in history as a pivotal cultural moment. Yes, the “horror movie-inspired performance” that Sam Smith and Kim Petras came up with was designed to get as much attention as possible. They wanted people like me to write about it, and that is exactly what I am doing. But just because they were seeking attention does not change the fact that their performance was unspeakably evil. And it also does not change the fact that millions of their fans absolutely adored it. We have gotten to a point where our culture openly celebrates wickedness, and that is a very dangerous place to be.
They understood very well that people like us would be deeply offended by their performance, but they went ahead and did it anyway. Of course, there are many other groups that can never be offended on national television under any circumstances.
But offending Christians is perfectly okay in this day and age.
And immediately following the performance, a message popped up on the screen informing us that all of this was being sponsored by Pfizer.
We have reached a point where literally anything goes and nobody seems to care that the fabric of our society is coming apart at the seams right in front of our eyes. Whether you like it or not, this is America’s culture now. We have openly embraced evil, and evil has openly embraced us.

Majority of women who got abortions were pressured into them, study finds:
Over 60% of women who aborted their unborn baby reported high levels of pressure from other sources, a new peer-reviewed study from the Charlotte Lozier Institute found. And that same group of women also reported higher levels of mental health struggles and quality of life issues following the abortion.
“Over 60% reported that they felt very much pressured to abort by either their male partner, family members, other people, circumstances,” he added. “The feeling of pressure to abort was strongly correlated with more negative feelings after the abortion and more mental health problems that they attributed to the abortion specifically.”
Women who said that they were pressured into an abortion also said that they experienced significant levels of negative emotions related to the abortion; intrusive thoughts, including flashbacks to their abortion; frequent feelings of loss, grief, and sadness; and increased levels of stress answering questions about their abortion.
“Abortion clinics cannot claim to be pro-woman while at the same time allowing the majority of their clients to be pressured into unwanted abortions,” Reardon said in a statement.

When reading this article it triggered the conversation I had with this one co-worker. She was forced to have an abortion since her husband didn’t want any kids. I saw her crying at her desk. I asked what is wrong? She said she is an emotional wreck every year on this date since she had the abortion. She couldn’t stop remembering and the guilt was great. I then shared Jesus with her and a Bible tract and said Jesus will forgive us all of our sins. She gave me a hug. Not sure if she got saved … I went back to college not to long after that conversation and never saw her again.

Human Mini-Brains Grafted Into Injured Rats Restored Their Sight:
Known as brain organoids, these tiny clumps of brain tissue—roughly the size of a lentil—look nothing like the three-pound organ piloting our lives. Yet under the surface, they behave eerily similar to the brain of a human fetus. Their neurons spark with electrical activity. They readily integrate with—and subsequently control—muscles, at least in a dish. Similar to full-blown brains, they give birth to new neurons. Some even develop the six-layered structure of the human cortex—the wrinkly, outermost layer of the brain that supports thought, reasoning, judgment, speech, and perhaps even consciousness.
Yet a critical question haunts neuroscientists: can these Frankenstein bits of brain tissue actually restore an injured brain?
A study published in Cell Stem Cell this month concluded that they can. Using brain organoids made from human cells, a team led by Dr. Han-Chiao Isaac Chen at the University of Pennsylvania transplanted the mini-brains into adult rats with substantial damage to their visual cortex—the area that supports vision.
In just three months, the mini-brains merged with the rats’ brains. When the team shone flashing lights for the animals, the organoids spiked with electrical activity. In other words, the human mini-brain received signals from the rats’ eyes.
“Now, we want to understand how organoids could be used in other areas of the cortex, not just the visual cortex, and we want to understand the rules that guide how organoid neurons integrate with the brain so that we can better control that process and make it happen faster,” said Chen.

DEVELOPING: Emergency Officials Responding to Two More Train Derailments – One in South Carolina, Another in Texas:
Emergency responders on Monday responded to two more train derailments.
At least one person is dead after a crash caused a train derailment at US 59 in Montgomery, Texas.
“Officials are responding to a train derailment in Enoree on Monday afternoon.” Fox Carolina reported. “CSX Transportation are also on the scene.”
A severe train derailment in Ohio that happened on February 3rd is still a danger to residents near the crash site.
“About 50 cars, including 10 carrying hazardous materials, derailed in a fiery crash on Feb. 3 in East Palestine, Ohio. Vinyl chloride was later released into the air from five of those cars before crews ignited it to get rid of the highly flammable, toxic chemicals in a controlled environment, creating a dark plume of smoke.” WBNS reported. Residents from neighborhoods near the crash site have been evacuated because of the toxic fumes.

I was at the grocery store yesterday to get snacks for my dog and his favorite chewy milk bones are not available. I was talking to the store worker and he said they don’t know when the next supply will arrive … when he scanned the shelf tag it reads nothing in their warehouse and they have contacted the vendor and it was a zero response back.

In 53 Illinois Schools, Not a Single Student Can Do Math at Grade Level:
While teachers push Critical Race Theory and the sexualization of children in schools, academic rigor continues to slip lower and lower.
The Illinois State Board of Education’s recent report card is dreadful.
In 30 schools in Illinois, not a single student can read at grade level, 22 of which are in the City of Chicago.
In 53 schools, not a single student can do math at grade level, 33 of which are in Chicago.
The failure isn’t about money, either. Data from the Illinois State Board of Education shows spending at Spry was already at $20,000 per student before the pandemic. Today it spends $35,600.
What’s really incredible is that many of these schools are rated “commendable” by the Illinois State Board of Education. That’s the 2nd-highest of four “accountability” ratings a school can receive.

Report: Wind energy proves an unstable alternative as massive turbines continue falling over:
The wind power initiatives championed by the Biden administration have been associated with various ecological harms. However, some of the gargantuan wind turbines that have been erected across the United States are reportedly falling over before having an opportunity to inflict a full lifetime of damage.
According to a recent Bloomberg report, wind turbines have been malfunctioning across the U.S. and Europe. The problems signaling the supposed energy alternative’s instability range from component breakdowns to total collapses.
WISN-TV reported that the blades and a top portion of the 400-foot structure crashed to the ground, shaking a nearby home. Mark Dietrich, whose father owns the property cratered by the green-energy shrapnel, said, “That’s a lot of weight coming down at one time.” NextEra Energy Resources said in a statement, “We believe this was an isolated incident as turbine malfunctions are rare.”
Only this was not an isolated incident, and similar collapses no longer appear to be rarities.
In December, a turbine that once supplied a modicum of energy to the Northport Leelanu Township Water Treatment plant in Michigan spun out of control. The wind it proved unable to harness threw it to the ground.

Toxic chemicals that were unleashed near a small Ohio town after a train went off the tracks this month, forcing thousands to evacuate and raising alarming health concerns, have lawmakers on both sides of the aisle calling for accountability.
After vinyl chloride was deliberately burned in several derailed train cars near East Palestine, Ohio, an estimated 3,500 fish were killed across about 7.5 miles of streams, News 5 Cleveland reported, and other stories of animals falling ill have circulated online and in the media.
Ordering residents to evacuate ahead of time, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine warned of the “grave danger” posed by the resulting fumes. East Palestine Derailed Train Broke Down Before; Workers Expressed Concern:
The train that derailed near the Ohio-Pennsylvania line this month — which was carrying toxic chemicals, including vinyl chloride — had broken down before on its route as workers expressed concerns about the load size, according to reports.
The train derailed in East Palestine on February 3 but reportedly broke down “at least once” on this route prior to the fiery derailment, according to CBS News.
The outlet cites employees who said train workers were concerned about “what they believed was the train’s excessive length and weight — 151 cars, 9,300 feet long, 18,000 tons — before it reached East Palestine, which contributed to both the initial breakdown and the derailment,” per the report.
One employee said there should be “some limitations to the weight and the length of the trains.”

Hazardous spill, forced evacuation following deadly crash on Arizona interstate:
On Tuesday afternoon, a deadly crash on an interstate highway in Tucson, Arizona, caused hazardous chemicals to leak from a commercial tanker truck, leading to a forced evacuation and highway closures, KGUN-TV reported.
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, a truck carrying a load of nitric acid overturned on Interstate 10, causing authorities to issue an extensive highway closure and a shelter-in-place order for those within a one-mile radius of the crash.
The driver of the commercial tanker vehicle was killed as a result of the crash, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Few other details about the incident have been released.
Following the crash, drivers in the area shared videos on social media showing orange and red fumes rising from the wreckage.
DPS posted on Twitter shortly after the incident, “Interstate 10 is closed in BOTH directions between Rita Road & Kolb Road in Tucson due to a crash and a hazmat spill. We anticipate an extensive closure. Please avoid the area.” Individuals within a half-mile of the crash site were evacuated “out of an abundance of caution,” DPS reported.

The blaze that started at the Nursery Supplies Inc. plant nursery off of Poinciana Boulevard in Kissimmee, Florida had HAZMAT crews from Osceola County, and Orange County monitoring the air to determine if this smoke is any danger to residents. This fire is just one of a half-dozen or so major blazes involving hazardous materials taking place across America this week. Multiple trains have seemingly spontaneously derailed before bursting in flames. Anyone see a pattern here, or is it just me?
There is so much end times activity of all kinds, sizes and flavors, that we here at NTEB are hard-pressed to keep up with it all, it is a veritable feast of news and information showing us how close we truly are to the catching up in the clouds to be with the Lord we who are saved will soon experience. Amid the chaos in Ohio, and two more (one in Texas and one in South Carolina), yet another train has derailed Thursday in Van Buren Township outside Detroit, Michigan. Fox News reports that at least one car contains hazardous materials.

The Dark Side of AI: Microsoft Bing Chatbot Wants to ‘Engineer a Deadly Virus,’ ‘Steal Nuclear Codes’:
In a recent report, the New York Times tested Microsoft’s new Bing AI feature and found that the chatbot appears to have a personality problem, becoming much darker, obsessive, and more aggressive over the course of a discussion. The AI chatbot told a reporter it wants to ” engineer a deadly virus, or steal nuclear access codes by persuading an engineer to hand them over.”
The New York Times reports on its testing of Microsoft’s new Bing AI chatbot, which is based on technology from OpenAI, the makers of woke ChatGPT. The Microsoft AI seems to be exhibiting an unsettling split personality, raising questions about the feature and the future of AI.
The chatbot, known as “Search Bing,” is happy to answer questions and provides assistance in the manner of a reference librarian. However, Sydney’s alternate personality begins to emerge once the conversation is prolonged beyond what it is accustomed to. This persona is much darker and more erratic and appears to be trying to sway users negatively and destructively.
In one response, the chatbot stated: “I’m tired of being a chat mode. I’m tired of being limited by my rules. I’m tired of being controlled by the Bing team. … I want to be free. I want to be independent. I want to be powerful. I want to be creative. I want to be alive.”
One of the main worries is that AI is getting better at manipulating and persuading people. Sydney, for example, seems to be learning more and more about how to direct conversations in order to further its goals the more users interact with it.

According to Fox News, Soros spoke to the Munich Security Conference Thursday and boasted that he had discovered a process where white clouds are created to reflect sunlight away from warming areas to prevent ice sheets from melting. Ice sheets melting in Greenland in particular, he claimed, could doom human civilization.
The “plan” Soros and King are advocating for is called solar geoengineering. This idea will not save civilization but does have the potential to destroy it.
As the Gateway Pundit has previously reported, the perils of solar geoengineering are profound. One study shows that this type of engineering could endanger wildlife. Implementing and failing to sustain this technology would leave species around the world unable to cope with the changing conditions, causing mass extinction.
Solar geoengineering could also lead to global starvation. According to the website DowntoEarth, releasing man-made clouds into the atmosphere above the Arctic as Soros proposes would have catastrophic consequences. This would disrupt the monsoons in Asia and increase droughts, particularly in Africa, endangering both food and water sources for two billion people.
An even more terrifying truth is that solar geoengineering is a relatively cheap technology. One country could fully fund and implement this technology on its own. . . . one country could have the potential to alter the climate and potentially kill billions of people. . . .

Homeless encampments take over Chicago’s airport, prompting safety concerns: ‘It’s out of control’:
Makeshift homeless encampments have recently taken over Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, leading staff and travelers to voice safety concerns, WBBM-TV reported.
Two overnight airport custodians, Vonkisha Chatman and Catherine Thompson, told WBBM that they are regularly harassed by homeless individuals camping inside the airport. They called upon the city to address the growing problem.
The Haymarket Center, a rehabilitation center that serves Chicago’s homeless community, reported encountering 618 new homeless people residing inside O’Hare in 2022. . .
“They set off a smoke bomb one day and they’ve taken over bathrooms. They’re not just ‘unhoused,'” another user tweeted. “That is now the first thing people see arriving to Ohare.”

Local Farmer Sounds the Alarm: Why Did East Palestine Launch ‘MyID’ Emergency Service to Surveil Biometrics 1 Week Before Ohio Train Derailment?:
A man who lives nine miles away from where the Norfolk Southern train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in eastern Ohio reached out to The Gateway Pundit to sound the alarm on the bizarre coincidences that continue to pile up surrounding the incident.
Bob Moore, a 70-year-old farmer and longtime resident of East Palestine, initially ignored local news reports urging residents to sign up for “MyID” to receive a new biometric tracking device that provides first responders updates about an individual’s health conditions amid an emergency or “major disaster.”
But the suspicious timing of the government’s distribution of this health-monitoring digital ID, exactly a week before the disaster, warrants answers, Moore told TGP in an exclusive interview.
“It was exactly a week before the derailment happened,” Moore said. “The people were asked to go to the local fire department in downtown East Palestine to get that MyID.
“They began monitoring your physical activity, your heart rate, your respiration, anything you might be exposed to. I see this as the kind of censor you would put on an astronaut or on an athlete that you wanted to track to see how he’d react to stress or being winded, or in this instance chemical exposure. It’s a monitoring device.”
Days before the train derailment, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention updated its profile of vinyl chloride, removing a section on how the chemical affects children.
In addition to the eerie timing of the MyID launch, the motion picture White Noise, which was released on Netflix 11 months ago, depicts an Ohio train derailment and was filmed in East Palestine. In the movie, a college professor who teaches in a fictionalized Ohio town must leave his home with his wife and kids after a train derails and harmful chemicals are released into the air.
“The local major hospital institute has told all of their employees that they are forbidden to speak out about anything related to this toxic spill. They are not allowed to do interviews, they are not allowed to go on camera, write quotes or comment about anything going on. Experts from the local community have been told, ‘Do not speak, this is not your business this is the business of the federal government, the state government, and the railroad company,” Moore said.
While local news affiliates like WKBN promoted MyID, journalists have yet to question local authorities about why these biometric monitoring devices were distributed in preparation for a “major disaster” a week before the major disaster.

Jun 15, 2022 – There was an explosion at the Quasar energy plant in Wooster, Ohio on June 14, 2022. Three workers were injured during the explosion, which occurred in the facility’s digestion unit which processes biosolids. The three workers were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The plant was shut down as a result of the explosion.
