AI Develops Cancer Drug in 30 Days, Predicts Life Expectancy with 80% Accuracy:
AI technologies invented by scientists at the University of British Columbia and B.C. Cancer has succeeded in discovering a previously-unknown treatment pathway for an aggressive form of liver cancer, designing a new drug to treat it in the process.
The team also deployed AI to determine a patient’s life expectancy, by having it analyze doctors’ notes. The AI reportedly has an 80 percent accuracy rate in its predictions.
The feat was accomplished in just 30 days from target selection and after only synthesizing seven compounds.
The system used to predict life expectancy used natural language processing (NLP)—a branch of AI that understands complex human language—to analyze oncologist notes following a patient’s initial consultation visit.

To combat food shortages, North Korea deploys the military:
Hundreds of thousands of North Korean troops are mobilizing to help plant and harvest crops. The country’s military is rejiggering some of its munitions factories to produce tractors and threshing machines, while also converting some airfields into greenhouses. Soldiers are reportedly being asked to extend their service by three years and spend them on farms.
The directives have come straight from North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, who has called for his military to become “a driving force” in increasing food production.
When he presided over his Central Military Commission more than a week ago, the state media only briefly mentioned the threat posed by the joint military drills between South Korea and the United States, focusing instead on Kim’s campaign around food.
Hit by droughts and floods, hamstrung by socialist mismanagement and hurt by international sanctions, North Koreans have long suffered from food shortages. Millions died during a famine in the 1990s. Even in the best of years, many North Koreans go hungry. But the pandemic made it worse.

Pope Francis: “Hell is not a Place”:
Pope Francis has again denied Catholic dogma concerning the afterlife. First, he said, “No one can be condemned forever” (A.M. 297), then he said that the souls of unrepentant sinners who die in mortal sin are simply “annihilated” or disappear and are not punished eternally. Now he’s saying that Hell does not exist.
In an interview conducted by Argentinian news site Perfil, Francis was asked, “What is your own interpretation of Hell and paradise, and what happens to people who go to Hell, and what happens to those who go to paradise?”
Francis answered: “Hell is not a place,” explaining that “it is a state of the heart” and “a posture towards life.
This directly contravenes the Church’s dogmatic teaching that Hell is a distinct place in the netherworld, the abode of the damned, where the souls of unrepentant sinners that die out of grace are eternally punished by means of fire. Christ Himself said that those who merely neglect good works are sent “into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Mt. 25:41)
As always, we see Francis pulling ideas out of his hat and presenting them as doctrine while mocking and trashing the Church’s true teachings as given by Christ and upheld through the centuries by the true Popes. The faithful have a duty to reject Francis’ heterodox ideas lest they wind up in the fire themselves.

Nolte: Democrat-Run City Bans New Gas Stations to Fight Climate Change:
The lunatics in charge of Louisville, Colorado, have decided to ban any new gas stations from moving into their city. Currently, Louisville has a population of 21,000 people and only six gas stations. Additionally, any new “gas stations and service stations will also be required to have at least two charging stations for electric vehicles. . . ”
How does banning the number of gas stations help fight Climate Change (which is a hoax)? Even though it is a hoax, let’s pretend Climate Change is real…. So how does banning gas stations decrease carbon emissions?
Like this lunatic city council, I’m no scientist, but it seems to me that if you limit the number of gas stations, two things will happen: 1) people waiting in line to get gas will idle their cars longer than they normally would, and 2) people will have to drive further to get gas. In both cases, you get cars running longer than they would otherwise, which puts more carbon in the air.
It gets worse… The city council has decided “the entire city’s municipal electricity needs” must come from “carbon-free sources by 2025.” That’s less than two years from now.

Chinese Parents of Schoolchildren Forced to Sign Pledge of Atheism:
Parents of kindergarten students in Wenzhou City, China, have been forced to sign a pledge of atheism as a condition for their children staying in school, Bitter Winter reported Friday.
The pledge, which was issued earlier this month, is called a “Kindergarten Family Commitment Not to Believe in Religion” and must be signed by the parents, who must in turn indicate the names of their children.
The text of the document declares that parents “do not hold a religious belief, do not participate in any religious activities, and do not propagate and disseminate religion in any locations,” ChinaAid reported.
The parents also promise to raise “civilized families” who “do not believe in religion, do not participate in any religious activities, do not teach religion to children.” Parents promise to avoid “feudal superstition” and to teach kindergarten children faith in science, socialism, and the Chinese Communist Party.
Both pupils and teachers were required to sign a statement pledging not to browse religious websites or participate in religious forums, and including the declaration, “I will adhere to the correct political direction, advocate science, promote atheism, and oppose theism.”
“We know of some school teachers who warn children that if they follow Jesus they may not be allowed to graduate,” said one Chinese church leader on condition of anonymity. “This creates a terrible struggle in young people’s hearts.”
In 2017, China’s communist government began installing surveillance cameras in Christian churches of the Zhejiang province in order to monitor who is attending services as well as the content of what is being preached.

According to the RUMOR, Operation Sandman will “put the US Dollar to sleep” by having all 142 countries repudiate the currency on the same day, and refuse to continue accepting it for payment in Trade.
Countries around the world began planning this when they witnessed the then-Democrat-Controlled US Congress, go on a spending spree of several TRILLION Dollars in Omnibus Bills. Those countries realized there is nothing backing the value of US Dollars and they saw that the US Congress has no plans at all to reign in spending.

Report: 44% of Americans Work a Second Job, 13% Increase Under Biden:
The recent increase under President Joe Biden is highlighted by a survey from FlexJobs, which found 69 percent of employed professionals either have a side job or want one.
The desire to work longer hours at a second job comes as Biden’s 40-year-high inflation cost American households an extra $5,200 in 2022 or $433 per month on average, according to Bloomberg.
While many Americans are forced to expand their income by working more hours at a second job, Biden is expanding taxes on the so-called gig economy.
As Breitbart News noted in November, the IRS warned workers that they will be forced to report income over $600 to the IRS on a form called the 1099-K. The warning was a result of Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
The rule is intended to compel American workers to “pay your fair share,” an idea that Biden has pushed for the wealthy but not average Americans — until now.
The LendingClub report also revealed 62 percent of Americans, including 48 percent of high-income consumers, were living paycheck to paycheck in February, up two percentage points from the month prior.
Breitbart News’s Michael Foster reported: The report noted 39 percent of those who lived paycheck to paycheck “with issues paying their bills” mentioned “extraordinary expenses” as their reason for seeking side work.

Elon Musk’s Twitter Restricts Conservatives Raising Alarm About ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’:
Elon Musk’s Twitter has restricted accounts of prominent conservative politicians, journalists, and activists that are raising awareness about the fact that radical transgender activists called for a “Trans Day of Vengeance” ahead of the mass shooting at a Nashville Christian school, carried out by a woman who identified as transgender.
One of the suspended accounts included Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who reportedly tweeted an image of a poster advertising the upcoming “Trans Day of Vengeance” event, which is being hosted by the Trans Radical Activist Network.
Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, said in a separate tweet that Twitter is automatically removing images of the poster due to fear it could incite violence. The images being removed are those posted by conservatives and others raising awareness about the threat. Elon Musk’s censors had no issues with the original tweets of the poster posted by transgender activists until the new crackdown.
The Federalist CEO Sean Davis was also restricted for allegedly violating Twitter’s rules regarding “violent speech.”
“The cold-blooded mass murder at a Christian school in Nashville by an apparent transgender person came just days before a planned ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’ organized by the Trans Radical Activist Network,” Davis tweeted.
On Saturday, the radical transgender activists will reportedly hold a “Trans Day of Vengeance” demonstration outside of the Supreme Court, where they will complain about the alleged “hate from the world.”

Crime has spiked in Washington, DC, in recent months after Biden-appointed United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves, refused to prosecute 67 percent of those arrested who would have been put on trial in the D.C. Superior Court, according to 2022 District statistics.
Among those Graves declined to prosecute were some 52 percent of all felony arrests, along with 72 percent of misdemeanor arrests, the U.S. Attorney’s Office Annual Statistical Reports revealed.

CBS News tweets: “The cost of some Ivy League colleges is approaching $90,000 a year, while elite liberal arts colleges are also boosting their total prices to more than $80,000 annually.”
Students today would be much better off learning a trade or going directly into the workforce.
Colleges do little more than saddle young people with massive debt and fill their heads with leftist garbage.

Disney World ducks DeSantis’ board takeover with legal maneuver invoking King Charles III:
Disney invoked the name of King Charles III in an unusual bid to quietly upend Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R-Fla.) plan to reign in the “corporate kingdom’s,” continued self-governance, multiple outlets reported.
In February, DeSantis signed a bill dissolving Reedy Creek Improvement District. In its place, he installed the CFTOB.
Apparently unbeknownst to DeSantis, RCID transferred the bulk of its government-like powers over to Disney just “hours” before Florida’s House of Representatives approved the takeover, Fox News Digital explained.

Some plants can, for instance, wilt, change color, or release volatile organic compounds. Apparently, they can cry, too.They found that under all circumstances, the tobacco and tomato plants made sounds, but were much more sonically active when stressed. Tomato and tobacco plants subjected to drought conditions made 35 sounds and 11 sounds an hour, respectively. However, unstressed plants made fewer than one sound per hour on average.
The study underscored, “These findings can alter the way we think about the plant kingdom, which has been considered to be almost silent until now.”

‘If We Go Ahead on This Everyone Will Die’ Warns AI Expert Calling for Absolute Shutdown by Naveen Athrappully
Human beings are not ready for a powerful AI under present conditions or even in the “foreseeable future,” stated a foremost expert in the field, adding that the recent open letter calling for a six-month moratorium on developing advanced artificial intelligence is “understating the seriousness of the situation.”
“The key issue is not ‘human-competitive’ intelligence (as the open letter puts it); it’s what happens after AI gets to smarter-than-human intelligence,” said Eliezer Yudkowsky, a decision theorist and leading AI researcher in a March 29 Time magazine op-ed. “Many researchers steeped in these issues, including myself, expect that the most likely result of building a superhumanly smart AI, under anything remotely like the current circumstances, is that literally everyone on Earth will die.
“Not as in ‘maybe possibly some remote chance,’ but as in ‘that is the obvious thing that would happen.’ It’s not that you can’t, in principle, survive creating something much smarter than you; it’s that it would require precision and preparation and new scientific insights, and probably not having AI systems composed of giant inscrutable arrays of fractional numbers.”
After the recent popularity and explosive growth of ChatGPT, several business leaders and researchers, now totaling 1,843 including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak, signed a letter calling on “all AI labs to immediately pause for at least 6 months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4.” GPT-4, released in March, is the latest version of OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT.
AI ‘Does Not Care’ and Will Demand Rights
Yudkowsky predicts that in the absence of meticulous preparation, the AI will have vastly different demands from humans, and once self-aware will “not care for us” nor any other sentient life. “That kind of caring is something that could in principle be imbued into an AI but we are not ready and do not currently know how.” This is the reason why he’s calling for the absolute shutdown.Without a human approach to life, the AI will simply consider all sentient beings to be “made of atoms it can use for something else.” And there is little humanity can do to stop it. Yudkowsky compared the scenario to “a 10-year-old trying to play chess against Stockfish 15.” No human chess player has yet been able to beat Stockfish, which is considered an impossible feat.
The industry veteran asked readers to imagine AI technology as not being contained within the confines of the internet.
“Visualize an entire alien civilization, thinking at millions of times human speeds, initially confined to computers—in a world of creatures that are, from its perspective, very stupid and very slow.”
The AI will expand its influence outside the periphery of physical networks and could “build artificial life forms” using laboratories where proteins are produced using DNA strings.
The end result of building an all-powerful AI, under present conditions, would be the death of “every single member of the human species and all biological life on Earth,” he warned.
Yudkowsky blamed OpenAI and DeepMind—two of the world’s foremost AI research labs—for not having any preparations or requisite protocols regarding the matter. OpenAI even plans to have AI itself do the alignment with human values. “They will work together with humans to ensure that their own successors are more aligned with humans,” according to OpenAI.
This mode of action is “enough to get any sensible person to panic,” said Yudkowsky.
He added that humans cannot fully monitor or detect self-aware AI systems. Conscious digital minds demanding “human rights” could progress to a point where humans can no longer possess or own the system.
“If you can’t be sure whether you’re creating a self-aware AI, this is alarming not just because of the moral implications of the ‘self-aware’ part, but because being unsure means you have no idea what you are doing and that is dangerous and you should stop.”
Unlike other scientific experiments and gradual progression of knowledge and capability, people cannot afford this with superhuman intelligence because if it’s wrong on the first try, there are no second chances “because you are dead.”
‘Shut It Down’
Yudkowsky said that many researchers are aware that “we’re plunging toward a catastrophe” but they’re not saying it out loud.This stance is unlike that of proponents like Bill Gates who recently praised the evolution of artificial intelligence. Gates claimed that the development of AI is “as fundamental as the creation of the microprocessor, the personal computer, the Internet, and the mobile phone. It will change the way people work, learn, travel, get health care, and communicate with each other. Entire industries will reorient around it. Businesses will distinguish themselves by how well they use it.”
Gates said that AI can help with several progressive agendas, including climate change and economic inequities.
Meanwhile, Yudkowsky instructs all establishments, including international governments and militaries, to indefinitely end large AI training runs and shut down all large computer farms where AIs are refined. He adds that AI should only be confined to solving problems in biology and biotechnology, and not trained to read “text from the internet” or to “the level where they start talking or planning.”
Regarding AI, there is no arms race. “That we all live or die as one, in this, is not a policy but a fact of nature.”
Yudkowsky concludes by saying, “We are not ready. We are not on track to be significantly readier in the foreseeable future. If we go ahead on this everyone will die, including children who did not choose this and did not do anything wrong.
“Shut it down.”

Last week, an Australian company has successfully created a giant meatball using genetic information taken from an extinct wooly mammoth from about 10,000 years ago, claiming that the ancient protein paved the way for modern cuisine.
A Sydney-based company, Vow Food, a meat production company specializing in producing meat from animal cells, has unveiled a mammoth meatball in an effort to raise awareness regarding animal agriculture and the ways in which it contributes to the current “climate change crisis.”

To create the meatball, Vow Food filled in the gaps of a mammoth myoglobin DNA sequence using information from the genome of an African elephant – the extinct animal’s closest living relative. The scientists inserted the synthesised gene into a sheep muscle cell, which was grown in a lab.
Cultivated meat, also known as cultured or cell-based meat, is made from animal cells and does not require killing livestock to be produced.
“Vow’s mission is to feed billions of humans. We want to change everyone’s conception of what meat is and what it can be,” Vow co-founder Tim Noakesmith said in a video unveiling the project.
“Cultured meat significantly reduces the climate impact that’s normally associated with regular meat production.”

The state of Oregon is denying the application of a woman who wants to adopt because she is a Christian and will not agree to support gender transition if the child she adopts ends up being trans.
This is where the left has planned to take this argument from the start. It’s a backdoor way to openly discriminate against people of faith. They don’t care about the welfare of children, they care about spreading their ideology.
Jessica Bates began the process of applying to become certified to adopt a child from Oregon’s foster care system one year ago. The Oregon Department of Human Services, the agency responsible for the delivery and administration of the state’s child welfare programs, denied her application because individuals seeking to adopt must agree to “respect, accept, and support … the sexual orientation, gender identity, [and] gender expression” of any child the department could place in an applicant’s home, and Bates could not agree to this because of her faith.
“Oregon’s policy amounts to an ideological litmus test: people who hold secular or ‘progressive’ views on sexual orientation and gender identity are eligible to participate in child welfare programs, while people of faith with religiously informed views are disqualified because they don’t agree with the state’s orthodoxy,” said ADF Senior Counsel Jonathan Scruggs, director of the ADF Center for Conscience Initiatives. “The government can’t exclude certain communities of faith from foster care and adoption services because the state doesn’t like their particular religious beliefs.”

Simultaneously, a Chinese invasion of Taiwan appears to be closer than ever. . . . China simulated “precision attacks on key targets in Taiwan” over the weekend… They are literally practicing for an invasion of Taiwan. And the moment that China invades Taiwan, the U.S. and China will be at war. The U.S. is completely and utterly unprepared to fight a war with China, and such a war would be a nightmare for the entire planet.

Both sides just continue to escalate matters, and the Russians have been steadily taking territory in recent days. Minneapolis mosques to broadcast Muslim call to prayer 5 times a day:
A change in a city ordinance in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will mean that area mosques will soon be able to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer five times a day, all year round.
The Muslim call to prayer — called adhan and conducted entirely in Arabic — has been broadcast publicly from mosque speakers in the city for some time. However, a previous citywide noise restriction limited area mosques to three adhans per day between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Mosques were unable to broadcast adhans at dawn or late at night. There were also rules restricting adhans to certain times of the year.
Last year, the Minneapolis City Council approved a measure that would permit adhans all year round. On Thursday, the city council, which has three Muslim members, voted unanimously to permit all five daily adhans, even those broadcast as early as 3:30 a.m. and as late as 11 p.m., WCCO-TV reported. Minneapolis is now the first major U.S. city to approve broadcasting all five adhans.

Some engage in shoplifting as a trade, while others are driven by addiction or mental illness.Over the past five years, shoplifting complaints nearly doubled, peaking at nearly 64,000 last year, police data shows. Only about 34 percent resulted in arrests last year, compared with 60 percent in 2017.
And as you can see, “arrests” mean nothing.Take the numbers as reported, and what you have is 327 people arrested an average of 18 times for shoplifting.
Additionally, these 327 accounted for “nearly a third of all shoplifting arrests” last year. Well, those 327 might account for a third of “arrests,” but I can guarantee you those 327 account for a much bigger percentage of shoplifting crimes. “Arrests” merely represent the times the 327 were caught. Imagine how many times they shoplifted without being caught. Imagine how secure they feel shoplifting knowing that even if they are caught, there is no penalty other than the inconvenience of walking through the revolving door.
Want to decrease shoplifting in your city dramatically? Put these 327 in prison. I will go out on a limb and guess that if these 327 account for nearly a third of arrests, they probably account for more than 60 percent of overall shoplifting incidents.
By arresting these 327, you cut your city’s shoplifting problem in about half. You know how they are. Prosecute them. Why would New York not do that? Because George Soros does not want them to, that is why.
Obviously, as we have read over and over, the immediate result of this is retailers being forced to flee, which further blights these already struggling neighborhoods.
But my sympathy is gone… Blue city voters keep voting for this madness.

Within moments, the tool provided him with an essay on economics along with five recommended books, ostensibly as a means to bolster its claims. However, it soon became clear that none of the books were real. All of the titles were pure fictions. Pelley confronted Pichai about the chatbot’s apparent willingness to lie.
Bard allegedly had no initial knowledge of or fluency in Bengali. Even FOX 32 said the chaos last night was “unsafe to keep our news crew on the scene.” There was even footage of kids jumping on top of a bus.
The culture of lawlessness continues, and it’s not even summer. The video is proof of the rapid moral decay of the younger generation that has been educated in failed liberal institutions.

Fox News, Dominion Reach $787 Million Settlement in Defamation Lawsuit:
Fox News has agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems a $787 million settlement, avoiding a trial in the $1.6 billion defamation case the electronic voting company brought against the cable news company.
Dominion brought a $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News and parent company Fox Corporation in March 2021 for defamation, accusing the news outlet of harming its reputation by airing former President Donald Trump and his attorneys’ claims that Dominion’s voting machines were used to rig the 2020 election.
Tuesday’s settlement avoids what was expected to be a six-week trial, which means Fox News executives and hosts like Rupert Murdoch, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and other potential witnesses will not have to testify before a jury about the network’s coverage of the 2020 election.
First Amendment attorney Martin Garbus told the Times that “everybody wins” with Tuesday’s settlement. “With the settlement, everybody wins. Fox goes its way. Dominion gets cash,” Garbus said.
