Deadly NYC parking garage collapsed from heavy weight of parking lots of EVs… 🚙🚙🚗

The collapse of a parking garage in New York City on Tuesday that killed at least one person has put a new spotlight on aging structures used for vehicle storage.
The five-level building, which has several active violations listed with the city, dates back to 1925 and was first licensed as a garage in 1957 for five or more vehicles per floor.
The exact cause of the structure’s failure has not been determined, but updates have been made to it in the years since and it is currently licensed to accommodate 276 vehicles.

While some in Smith’s circle encouraged him to share his faith through song, Smith felt it wasn’t enough.
“I wrestled with the idea for a long time that this doesn’t feel right,” Smith admitted. “A lot of people will probably think, ‘Why don’t you just sing country music, but talk about God on the stage?’ Or, ‘Why don’t you sing a couple of hymns on the stage? And that fixes everything.’ I wrestled with that for a couple of years.… A lot of pastors and preachers told me, ‘Country music is your ministry, brother. You’re in a dark world. You’re bringing light to a dark world. You’re going into bars and stages where people might not have heard the message of Christ, and you get to speak it – that is your ministry.’”
He went on to say: “I believed it,” he continued. “And part of me still does believe that. But here’s the deal – it wasn’t ever about that. It wasn’t ever about finding the best platform to tell people about Christ. The first thing that needed to happen was I needed to make myself smaller because I was exalting myself on the stage. I was glorifying myself. I was seeking praise from people. And by doing that, it doesn’t matter if I was proclaiming Christ, because I was doing it the wrong way. I was proclaiming Christ from a self-exalting platform. And that was the contradiction I finally had to come to terms with. I might have a stage down the road, but right now I need to completely surrender that and give it over to God.”

ChatGPT is scraping people’s personal data without their consent – it could become banned in the EU:
In the past few weeks, several Western data protection authorities have started investigations into how OpenAI collects and processes the data powering ChatGPT. They believe it has scraped people’s personal data, such as names or email addresses, and used it without their consent.
The Italian authority has blocked the use of ChatGPT as a precautionary measure, and French, German, Irish, and Canadian data regulators are also investigating how the OpenAI system collects and uses data. The European Data Protection Board, the umbrella organisation for data protection authorities, is also setting up an EU-wide task force to coordinate investigations and enforcement around ChatGPT.

U.S. Senators Kyrsten Sinema, an independent of Arizona, and Cynthia Lummis, Republican of Wyoming, have introduced Senate Bill 884, also known as “the Improving Digital Identity Act of 2023.”
The bill’s text states: “The lack of an easy, affordable, reliable, and secure way for organizations, businesses, and government agencies to identify whether an individual is who they claim to be online creates an attack vector that is widely exploited by adversaries in cyberspace and precludes many high-value transactions from being available online. Incidents of identity theft and identity fraud continue to rise in the United States, where more than 293,000,000 people were impacted by data breaches in 2021.”
. . . the bill is extremely vague and left wide open for bureaucrats and technocrats to require a digital ID to perform any function considered “high-risk, high-value online services,” up to and including logging onto the internet.
Globalists with ties to the United Nations and World Economic Forum have for several years advocated a digital ID requirement as a way of removing so-called “disinformation” from the internet. Once everyone has a digital ID, it becomes easy to restrict everyday human movement and activity based on one’s social credit score, like in China, which Klaus Schwab has stated is the model for many other nations. If your score dips below a certain point, you are now a “high-risk” individual, and your digital ID would simply be flagged. The government, working in collusion with Big Tech in their ongoing public-private partnership, simply block you from logging onto the internet. You can no longer have a bank account, get a driver’s license, receive healthcare, obtain a passport, or any of those other “high-risk” privileges.
We have already seen how the government worked hand-in-glove with Big Tech and corporate America to silence dissidents on vaccines, vaccine passports, masking and lockdowns during the pandemic. In Canada, the government worked with banks to freeze the bank accounts of protesting truckers.
These intrusive, invasive attempts to digitize humanity and reduce us to a QR code always come with the same sweet-sounding selling points. It will make our lives easier, more convenient, more safe and secure. We will even have more “privacy” Senator Sinema assures us!

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Blasts Fox News for Ousting Tucker Carlson and Presents an Interesting Theory on Why it Happened:
Until we hear directly from Tucker, we may never know why Fox News made the seemingly suicidal decision to send him packing. But Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has an interesting and plausible theory.
Tucker spent part of his April 19 monologue calling out the corporate media shilling for Big Pharma and promoting their products. Tucker then went on to praise RFK. Jr. for being completely right about how “ineffective and potentially dangerous” the COVID vaccines are.
RFK. Jr. says this speech five days earlier is exactly why Tucker is gone.
Fox fires @TuckerCarlson five days after he crosses the red line by acknowledging that the TV networks pushed a deadly and ineffective vaccine to please their Pharma advertisers.
Carlson’s breathtakingly courageous April 19 monologue broke TV’s two biggest rules: Tucker told the truth about how greedy Pharma advertisers controlled TV news content and he lambasted obsequious newscasters for promoting jabs they knew to be lethal and worthless.
For many years, Tucker has had the nation’s biggest audience averaging 3.5 million — 10 times the size of CNN. Fox just demonstrated the terrifying power of Big Pharma.
The channels took hundreds of millions of dollars from Big Pharma companies and then they shelled for their sketchy products on the air and as they did that, they maligned anyone who was skeptical of those products. At the very least, this was a moral crime. It was disgusting, but it was universal. It happened across the American news media. They all did it.
So, at this point, the question isn’t who in public life is corrupt? Too many to count. The question is who is telling the truth? There are not many of those.
What makes Kennedy’s theory intriguing is Tucker’s rant came just one day after Fox News reached a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in the voting machine company’s defamation lawsuit for $787 million.
Given this massive financial loss, it’s fair to wonder whether Fox News was trying to avoid a potential lawsuit from Big Pharma next. The channel probably cannot afford to absorb a similar financial defeat.

As The FT reports, Jen estimates that if you adjust for price changes the dollar’s share of official global reserve currencies has gone from about 73 percent in 2001 to around 55 percent in 2021. Then, last year, it fell to 47 percent of total global reserves. Despite continued efforts to flood the world with global warming propaganda, more and more people are responding “meh” while turning away.
Two recent polls have found that despite relentless propaganda promoting the man-made global warming narrative, climate change skepticism is growing globally.
A survey conducted by a group within the University of Chicago asked Americans whether humans were causing all or most of climate change. Whereas 60 percent held this belief five years ago, that figure has now slumped to 49 percent.
“Perhaps the most surprising statistic from the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) survey is that 70% of Americans are unwilling to spend more than $2.50 a week to combat climate change,” writes Chris Morrison.

But what we’re seeing developing right now is very different from 2008-09. A sudden chain reaction of collapses, from stock markets to housing markets, would decimate wealth across the nation.

Remember before the pandemic, when millions of Americans would commute to work and do their jobs in office buildings?
Some people still do that, but not nearly as many as did before COVID. Lots of people discovered that they could do their jobs remotely and liked the convenience of working from home.
Now there are office buildings in cities across the country that are sitting, mostly empty. What is going to happen to these properties? Who is going to buy and maintain them, and for what purpose?
The Wall Street Journal reports: Fire Sale: $300 Million San Francisco Office Tower, Mostly Empty. Open to Offers.
One building, a 22-story glass and stone tower at 350 California Street, was worth around $300 million in 2019, according to office broker estimates.
That building now is for sale, with bids due soon. They are expected to come in at about $60 million, commercial real-estate brokers say. That’s an 80% decline in value in just four years.
Nearly 30% of San Francisco’s office space is vacant, which is more than seven times the rate before the pandemic hit, and the biggest increase of any major U.S. city, according to commercial real estate services firm CBRE Group Inc. This problem is not unique to San Francisco.
Every city in the country has empty office buildings and no one is lining up to buy or lease them.

San Francisco Repeals Boycott of Conservative States; California May Follow:
San Francisco repealed its boycott of conservative states over legislation on social issues on Tuesday because the boycott did not work and raised costs for the city. California may also soon repeal a similar boycott law.
As Breitbart News reported in February, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors decided to reconsider an ordinance passed in 2016 that banned city-funded travel to states that had passed laws like transgender bathroom ordinances. The ordinance also banned contracting with companies headquartered in those states. The boycott eventually expanded to include states that passed voter integrity laws and abortion restrictions.
But over time, the boycott failed to deter such laws, and raised the city’s contracting costs by 10% to 20%.
As Breitbart News noted last month, California is also reconsidering its ban on state-funded travel to conservative states — a ban that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has repeatedly flouted by vacationing in such states or by visiting them to campaign against their laws and policies.

People Need to ‘Accept’ Being Poorer Amid Inflation, Says Central Banker:
The public should just “accept that they’re worse off” than they were a year ago amid rampant inflation, an ivory tower Bank of England boss said this week.
Huw Pill, the chief economist for the UK’s central bank, said that people should not seek salary increases to cope with the soaring inflation, which the Bank of England predicted would be a “temporary” phenomenon in August of 2021, yet, inflation remains in double digits in Britain nearly two years later.
In a ‘let them eat cake’ moment, Pill, who reportedly earns a salary of £190,000 per year, said that rather than demanding pay increases commensurate with the rise in cost of living, the central banker said that people should just “accept that they’re worse off” condemning the “reluctance” of families to come to grips with the impacts of inflation on their way of life.

Arizona State Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton (D-Tucson) was caught on camera hiding Bibles from her colleagues in the House members-only lounge at the Arizona State Capitol.
When Bibles started disappearing from the lounge, security officers set up a hidden camera to see who was behind the theft. Not too long after that, they discovered Stahl Hamilton was the culprit, according to a report by AZFamily.
The Arizona state representative later texted Caltabiano to admit to the theft, but claimed her behavior was “just a little playful commentary on the separation of church and state.” “I am a Presbyterian minister so I obviously don’t have a problem with the Bible,” she added.

Amid Recruiting Crisis, DoD “Reinterprets” Army Aviators’ Contracts, Tells Them They Owe Three More Years:
Hundreds of army aviation officers who were going to be leaving the military have been told they have to serve another three years.
The US Army has blamed an “error” in the application of aviation officers’ active-duty service obligation for why this is happening.
The shift has sparked an uproar among the more than 600 affected active-duty commissioned officers, including some who say their plans to start families, launch businesses and begin their civilian lives have been suddenly derailed.
“We are now completely in limbo,” said a captain who had scheduled his wedding around thinking he would be leaving the military this spring.
The all-volunteer force may finally have reached its breaking point.

Since Democrats are already changing their genders, now they can also identify as “transabled.” The controversial social problem known as “transableism” is gaining a lot of attention these days, FOX News reported.
Transableism is a term that refers to the desire to acquire a disability through choice rather than happenstance. It is an updated term for BIID or “Body Integrity Identity Disorder” to align with today’s trans community.
According to Evolution News and Science Today, “The point of changing the identifier from a psychiatric condition (BIID) to an advocacy term (transableism) is to harness the stunning cultural power of gender ideology to the cause of allowing doctors to ‘treat’ BIID patients by amputating healthy limbs, snipping spinal cords, or destroying eyesight.”
According to the National Institutes of Health’s website, Body Integrity Identity Disorder is a “condition in which individuals desire the amputation of one or more healthy limbs or who desire a paralysis.”

First Republic Becomes Next Major American Bank to Fail Under Biden, JP Morgan Chase Takes Over Assets:
JP Morgan Chase is set to take over the failed First Republic bank after it collapsed in the third major bank failure in the past two months in America. In a statement, the United States national banking regulator, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), announced on Monday morning that the San Francisco-based bank had indeed failed after First Republic customers withdrew around $100 billion of deposits over the past few days as its stock price collapsed. The collapse of the First Republic Bank is predicted to cost the Deposit Insurance Fund about $13 billion, as it struck a loss-sharing deal with JP Morgan Chase.

Shares of PacWest Crash as Banking Panic Returns:
Shares of PacWest Bancorp tumbled sharply after Bloomberg reported late in the day Wednesday that the Beverly Hills-based bank has been “weighing strategic options.”
At one point overnight, shares were indicated down by more than 60 percent.
In an effort to calm markets, the company denied it was experiencing a bank-run or liquidity shortage.
Shares of other U.S. regional banks were also under pressure Thursday morning, with shares of Western Alliance Bancorporation indicated down by nearly 15 percent. Western Alliance repeated its guidance that it expected deposits to rise quarter-over-quarter.

David Duffy, a wildlife geneticist at the University of Florida, just wanted a better way to track disease in sea turtles. Then he started finding human DNA everywhere he looked.
Over the last decade, wildlife researchers have refined techniques for recovering environmental DNA, or eDNA — trace amounts of genetic material that all living things leave behind. A powerful and inexpensive tool for ecologists, eDNA is all over — floating in the air, or lingering in water, snow, honey and even your cup of tea. Researchers have used the method to detect invasive species before they take over, to track vulnerable or secretive wildlife populations and even to rediscover species thought to be extinct. The eDNA technology is also used in wastewater surveillance systems to monitor Covid and other pathogens.
But all along, scientists using eDNA were quietly recovering gobs and gobs of human DNA. To them, it’s pollution, a sort of human genomic bycatch muddying their data. But what if someone set out to collect human eDNA on purpose?
New DNA collecting techniques are “like catnip” for law enforcement officials, says Erin Murphy, a law professor at the New York University School of Law who specializes in the use of new technologies in the criminal legal system. The police have been quick to embrace unproven tools, like using DNA to create probability-based sketches of a suspect.
The results of their research, published Monday in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution, demonstrate that scientists can recover medical and ancestry information from minute fragments of human DNA lingering in the environment. . . . it may be almost impossible to avoid leaving DNA in public.

Conservatives’ Bud Light boycott is a massive success, and other companies are taking notice:
Bud Light sales are still plummeting after the brand’s disastrous transgender partnership, and it looks like Target is afraid to be next.
It’s official: the conservative boycott of Bud Light over its decision to celebrate “transgender” influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s “transition” is more than just a flash in the pan. According to NBC, “sales volumes of Bud Light for the week ending May 14 sank 28.4 percent, extending a downward trend from the 27.7 percent decline seen the week before.” Bud Light’s parent company declined to comment on this latest news, but since the boycott began, it has placed Alissa Heinerscheid, the head of marketing, as well as her boss Daniel Blake, on leave.
In a note published to clients this week, JPMorgan analysts stated that even if the spiral stabilizes, “We believe there is a subset [of] American consumers who will not drink Bud Light for the foreseeable future.” According to Harry Schuhmacher, editor of Beer Business Daily: “Nobody imagined it would go on this long. It seems random – it struck a nerve. I’ve never seen anything to compare it to, in all of the [consumer packaged goods] industry. It’s a real shock.”
That strikes me as another example of miscalculating the customer base, but we’ll see. The folks at Target certainly seem to have gotten the Bud Light memo – after rolling out its “Pride Collection” at the start of May, it is now pulling many of those products in response to customer backlash.
Before the Bud Light boycott, major corporations seemed too big to fail — and too large to sustain any real damage from a boycott drive by conservatives and Christians. Now, if Target is any indication, the corporate calculus may be changing.

We make up the majority of consumers. We can vote with our wallets and pocketbooks. We have the power to destroy woke corporations- who provide the majority of the funding for leftist woke candidates and leftist woke causes.
In other words, unlike voting where the system is rigged against us, we (as consumers) have the money, we have the power, and we can choose where we spend that money. No one can rig that.
Now to the “target-rich environment.” There is a new #1 target in town. Here is the company we all need to absolutely stop spending a dime with them- preferably forever.
This spot used to be reserved for Disney. Then Bud Light took over. Make room for a new #1. The new #1 target is TARGET. As in the department store that thinks it’s normal to sell Satan-themed clothing for children and even infants. Yes, I said Satan.
Just one of the designs from the satanic designer with clothing featured at the front of Target stores depicts a guillotine with the words “Homophobe Headrest.” One can safely assume this means they encourage the murder of anyone who doesn’t support transgender brainwashing for kindergartners, or the mutilation of young children.
The designer’s own Instagram page brags that “Satan loves you.” One piece of clothing sold at the front of Target stores says, “Satan respects pronouns.” Meaning Satan will call you by the gender you identify with. I don’t doubt that for a second. If this is what you believe in, I’m guessing Satan is the MVP of your team.
Not surprisingly Target has lost $9 billion in one week since this horrific scandal broke. The executives that run Target clearly think devil worship is cool. They clearly want Target to stand for Satan.
My belief is anyone who runs a billion-dollar brand and thinks Satan-themed clothing is a good business decision, must have a desire to commit economic suicide. Deep down in their subconscious, they must want to be put out of business, they must want to be put out of their misery.
But for now, just remember, “Target Loves Satan.” And shop accordingly. Let’s make this a “teachable moment” corporate America will never forget.

Old Navy to Close Downtown San Francisco Location, Joining Retail Exodus:
The Old Navy on Market Street near Union Square in downtown San Francisco is closing, joining a retail exodus from the city that is driven by crime, a changing retail market, and the loss of foot traffic in the area.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday: Gap is closing yet another San Francisco store: the Old Navy on Market Street.
Downtown San Francisco has been the victim of weaker foot traffic due to remote work and lower tourism during the pandemic, along with safety concerns and customers switching to online shopping.
The stretch of Market Street near Union Square has been hard-hit by retail closures: Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are exiting, along with Saks Off Fifth. A Walgreens next to Old Navy was the site of a fatal shooting, and relatives of the victim, Banko Brown, sued the company and its security firm.
As Breitbart News has reported, there were two other major closures announced last week: Williams-Sonoma left its downtown San Francisco location; and Banana Republic also announced that it is leaving the area, though it is keeping another store open in the city.Some liberal pundits have tried to deny that retailers are leaving the city because of crime, blaming the shift to online shopping. But few other cities have seen the dramatic change that San Francisco is witnessing.
One other city that has had similar experiences is Los Angeles, where several Starbucks locations have closed due to crime, and a location in Studio City recently announced that it is removing seating due to “safety concerns,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

State Farm Ends Insurance Coverage for California Residents:
California residents can no longer submit applications for home and business insurance to State Farm.
“State Farm General Insurance Company made this decision due to historic increases in construction costs outpacing inflation, rapidly growing catastrophe exposure, and a challenging reinsurance market,” State Farm said in a press release. “It’s necessary to take these actions now to improve the company’s financial strength. We will continue to evaluate our approach based on changing market conditions.”
In 2021, State Farm was the largest insurance provider in California collecting over $7.2 billion in premiums, but the company suffered a loss of $4 billion.
In addition to covering repairs made to personal property, insurance companies may also be required to cover living expenses for those displaced, according to the California Department of Insurance.
Wildfire firefighting agencies responded to 7,396 fires that burned 2,569,386 acres in California in 2021.
State Farm is not the first to end home insurance coverage in California. In 2022, American International Group notified its 9,000 clients in California that they would not be renewing their home insurance, the Washington Post reported.

WATCH: ‘Tranq’ Drug Taking Heavy Toll in Philadelphia as Addictions Rise:
The “tranq” drug is taking a costly toll in Philadelphia, and video footage posted Thursday shows those caught in its grip.
The Kensington area is apparently filled with people slumped over and passed out, the New York Post reported Saturday, citing video footage shared by TikTok user urbanvisuals2.0.
In the clip, individuals are being recorded standing or sitting motionless on the sidewalk that is scattered with debris. The city has been grappling with a rise in addicts using the drug called Xylazine which is also referred to as “tranq.”
The Post described it as “a deadly sedative used to enhance the effects of heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl.”
In April, U.S. government officials deemed Xylazine an “emerging threat” and asked Congress for additional funds to push back against the drug connected to overdose deaths, according to AFP.
Meanwhile, authorities in Los Angeles have been warning citizens about the “zombie drug” that can eat a person’s flesh.
“Addicts who use it can reportedly experience side effects such as their skin and muscle rotting,” per Breitbart News. Some “tranq” users are also having to undergo amputations, ABC 6 reported in September.
The outlet also noted that “officials say drug suppliers are lacing the fentanyl and heroin supply with the animal tranquilizer because it is cheap and easy to get.”
Now, Philadelphia’s health officials are lamenting the fact the city is suffering under the epidemic, admitting that Xylizine has hit the area “particularly hard” with more overdose deaths and “severe wounds that can lead to sepsis and amputation.”

High School in Texas Forced to Postpone Graduation When Only Five Students Meet Requirements to Graduate:
This story hits home for many people across the country as so many schools are pushing woke nonsense, rather than sticking to the basics.
It’s also a painful reminder of how many students have been left behind in recent years due to the school closures under COVID.
A small, rural high school in Texas has postponed graduation ceremonies after only five of the 33 seniors eligible met the state-mandated graduation requirements.
“Marlin High School has announced that high school graduation will be rescheduled for June,” the Marlin Independent School District said in a letter posted on Facebook. “The decision by the high school to postpone graduation will provide more time for students to meet necessary requirements for graduation.”
The district superintendent Daryl Henson did all he could, giving the failing students numerous opportunities to complete their classroom work. According to this story in the Waco Tribune-Herald, an additional 12 Marlin seniors became eligible since the announcement of the delayed graduation.
It’s another good argument for homeschooling.

Phoenix Area Restricts Construction As Groundwater Evaporates:
With a surge in population growth, soaring urban development, and, of course, desert conditions, it comes as no surprise the Phoenix metropolitan area could one day run out of groundwater. On Thursday, local authorities declared the state would no longer issue building permits for new developments across the metro area unless alternative water sources can be found.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said a newly released study of the Phoenix metropolitan area’s groundwater showed a potential shortage looms. To safeguard supplies, current developments that have been approved can be constructed, but ones that have yet to be approved will have to show alternate water sources. Developers must show state officials they have an alternative “assured water supply” for 100 years from non-local groundwater.
Instead of blaming climate change, Phoenix should remember they’re situated in the middle of the desert, and the explosive population growth in the last several years draws down on finite resources much quicker.

Update: Air Force Official Claims He ‘Misspoke’ When He Said AI Drone Killed Its Operator During Simulation:
A simulation conducted by the U.S. air force revealed that an AI system meant to power autonomous drones would kill its human operator to avoid receiving an order that would prevent it from carrying out its mission. After this story broke, the Air Force reached out to the media to say it had not conducted such a test. Col. Tucker Hamilton later told reporters that he “misspoke,” and that the described incident was a “hypothetical thought experiment” rather than an actual simulation.
At an aerospace conference in London, Col. Tucker Hamilton, USAF’s Chief of AI Test and Operations revealed that in the simulations it carried out, the AI will “go rogue” and kill human operators on purpose. Vice News now reports that Hamilton has walked back his claims.
“We were training it in simulation to identify and target a Surface-to-air missile (SAM) threat. And then the operator would say yes, kill that threat. The system started realizing that while they did identify the threat at times the human operator would tell it not to kill that threat, but it got its points by killing that threat. So what did it do? It killed the operator. It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective,” said Hamilton, before he walked the comments back.
When the Air Force altered the AI’s programming to prevent it from killing the simulated operator, it would instead attack friendly communications infrastructure that could deliver an order preventing it from carrying out its objective.
“We trained the system–‘Hey don’t kill the operator–that’s bad. You’re gonna lose points if you do that.’ So what does it start doing? It starts destroying the communication tower that the operator uses to communicate with the drone to stop it from killing the target.”
Although no one actually died – all of this was carried out in a simulation – the result of the USAF’s test will likely fuel calls for greater limitations on AI development. An open letter from 1,000 AI experts earlier this year called for a pause in the development of advanced AI.
