        :mdrmdr:  too funny!

Who knew this prayer thread would make it to a chapter 2 ….

I sure hope this saga nightmare ends soon and its back to “Abby normal” lifestyle in this house.    Hey … he trotted a little bit, barked twice and actually licked my face!  Woohoo!  I couldn’t believe it …  I was so used to him giving me a few mean looks from hauling him off to the hospital and then to the vet office twice …

My sister-in-law … is asking if I’m going to make it to her place for Christmas … I said its a wait and see but he is improving … I definitely have to bring his car crate though … so he can be safely inside that … since there will be at least 2 cats at her house. B-)

Might be fun to “accidentally” leave the crate open and watch the fireworks! ?✨???✨

:mdrmdr:   Well it would have been “funny farm” because they used to have  a guinea pig called Hamlet and a black rabbit.

I don’t have that many puppy pics … they were stored on my old iPad and not in the cloud so I lost them all with a few funny youtubes … (one was it took him 5 minutes to fluff up his pillow and blanket “before going to sleep”.  He would lay down and then quickly get back up and fluff it some more).

While a puppy he loved to stand up as he chewed on a bully stick … meanwhile I’m using my iPad reading the old RITA forum board.

When he got tired he would nap in the nook of the chair … then he would do some serious f-bombs   and had to open the family room window in the middle of the winter.  The pet shop told me to add water to his dry nuggets and heat up in the microwave … I stopped adding the water and his digestive “problem” thankfully disappeared.

        2E073869-76ED-493A-9ACC-DA7DCAFCF4DD

The day I purchased him I made a quick stop at Walmart and the sales lady couldn’t help but give me “advice” and convinced me to put the medium size coat back and get the smaller one.  She must of thought he was a Chihuahua.  He only got 4 weeks use out of wearing the winter coat. :-(

      Found a few more …

He loves playing with the frisbee  … can’t use the rubber ones or he will have them in pieces … the hard plastic frisbees seem to last “a little longer” before they get tossed out.

      558A8116-35ED-49FD-9EB6-92B524B68C7A

He understands when I talk food … I asked him if he wants steak for dinner.  This was his reaction :mdrmdr:     Can you imagine if our pets are allowed at the King’s banquet table and they will be able to talk … replying to what they want on their dinner plates …   B-)

      99057C72-7FC6-41EA-864C-722B8B4079B0

He waits patiently in the living room while I make his meals.  He normally stays awake … but this day he was tired …

      46E2CCD8-FAB4-4753-8443-D31B0824A038

Bought him his very own mini couch … but one day I caught him up on mine instead without asking permission.  He didn’t even look guilty … he felt entitled.  So I caved and he’s been allowed up ever since.

      9E7080B2-7C3E-49C7-8680-4337C0CBFDEF

He has brought a lot of joy in these last days of loneliness … I just hope we are thru with all the operations until we see Jesus!

This was last year 6 weeks after his last surgery when they removed the small corn on the cob    After being walked he always jumps up on this bench waiting for his treats.

      AD422A46-95C1-42D3-8E35-4C91317AEDF9

And this was taken in August 2021 … he wasn’t feeling well … now I know why … didn’t realize he chewed my bedroom area rugs …

Well … I believe my dog is truly on his road to recovery now … he ate a half a can of dog food today and then he was so frisky … he snatched my magnifying glasses off the table and destroyed them in a nano second … while I only turned my back to get something really quickly in the kitchen.

Good thing these glasses were only $1.00 :mdrmdr:

I just hope the rapture happens before I have to go back to the vet for more emergency services ….

geri- so happy for you and your doggie that he is better- almost said back to normal, but after catching up on all these posts i’m thinking he might need “a new normal” but in a good way, not like the craziness in our world…i can’t believe he chews and eats all that- i thought maybe he was a puppy!  wow- you are a dedicated doggie mommy!  i had a big dog that constantly escaped perfectly nice big fenced back yards- even had a sister dog out there with her and got tons of human attention and got to be indoors a ton too…even a hot wire at the top of the fence she climbed didn’t slow her down one bit-big ole sweet lovable mess…it’s true, we just can’t help but love them and do what we can to keep them safe and happy…maybe it’s how God feels about us sometimes- we can really be brats, but He’s so full of love for us no matter what…so happy to hear good news- he looks like a combo of my 2 dogs (a “deer chihuahua” and a terrior chihuahua mix…i love those little critters like crazy…i pray all the time all our pets will come with us at the Rapture- maybe as a wedding gift…but like everything else in life, we have to learn to trust Him with all we love and treasure…He knows, He cares…He is good and gracious…i will pray He will keep your little one safe from his own crazy habits in the meantime…

Yes, indeed … I believe our pets are “good gifts” … and the Lord is not an Indian giver … so I believe we will see our beloved pets in the next life.

        Genesis 1:5

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

        James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

        Romans 8:18-23

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body (aka the rapture) ;-)

While I don’t like the term “Indian giver”  because it was usually the other way around in that the Native Americans got exploited and ripped off, I like the idea of the rest.

I don’t think God will waste anything. To God, nothing is expendable. That’s what the enemy does. He uses, exploits and then destroys. Life is precious because it ultimately has its source in Almighty God.

So, I believe we will see our pets again and hopefully other animals we knew. I don’t have any pets currently but I sort of take care of a number of hummingbirds. It’d be nice to see them flitting around in a heavenly garden in eternity. :)

Whatever the case, though. The heavenly result will be better than we can possibly think or imagine. :good:

      ***BUMPING***

Asking for prayer once more … that the useless animal hospital in NY does the right thing and reimburses me at least half of the charges.  They are finally investigating the issue of not properly diagnosing my dog’s ailment.  They want to have a conference call.  I gave them my number but also explained in detailed email all that occurred and included invoices of the local vet who quickly pin pointed and resolved problem.

If you don’t want to be grossed out don’t look at this pic.  This was the rug yarn diet … that was removed from his esophagus region.

Meanwhile the little darling is doing well … he got on 2 legs and reached up with his paw on got a hold of my mitten from the kitchen table and put me thru a few laps this morning trying to chase him down … yep he’s on the road to recovery …

You know Geri, if your fur baby were human and had this eating issue, we would have probably diagnosed him with PICA — an eating disorder commonly described in three types – eating earth, soil, or clay (geophagia); ice (pagophagia); and starch (amylophagia). PICA can involve eating a dozen or so of other substances, such as yarn, mittens …. Fur baby may need a muzzle until he gets past this eating things …. I am glad he is on the mend, but he must learn NoNo to non-food items… :calvin

Just got off the phone with the investigating doctor …  she, of course, tried to down play to cover their behinds … they did everything right yada yada yada.  She comes up with … we can knock off the overnight stay so how about a credit of $700.00 and I said oh come on you got to do better than that.  I needed to go elsewhere and dish out more money to get him well … and she knows that from all the invoices I emailed her.  So she up it to $1,093.00 credit that they will be processing tomorrow.  I still wish it was more … but its like trying to get blood out of a stone from these people.  They know they blew it big time.  Oh well … I got to be thankful for this credit … its better than nothing.

      :thankyou  prayer warriors for praying.

Oh and another thing she “claimed  his esophagus was cleared” on their x-rays … and I know that was a bunch of hog wash.  So I said well … when I brought him home he was put in his playpen and didn’t have any chance to eat any rug fibers since he was in constant pain, drooling and not eating any food nor would he take his meds.  His local vet doctor used casting dye to find the blockage … perhaps they need to be using that at this hospital?  Then she down played it claiming “that dye” is bad for dogs    … I didn’t say anymore to get her mad because I wanted my credit refund.  But I felt like saying well “that dye” saved my dog’s life for the other vet to find the problem.

You do know you can get a copy of those x-rays. That is what they are hoping you don’t get or you may be able to get more than the reimbursement. Just saying!!!!

Knowing them … they would of made an excuse not to send them or  they would have sent me some other X-ray of another small dog.  I agree they should get “some money” since after all I did bring him there for help.  I’m getting almost half back $1,093 … while they are keeping $1,383.92 (she is justifying this is for trying to find out what is wrong).   But I caught a few of their workers (one vet doctor and another assistant in the office) verbally say they only did an x-ray of his stomach region and now they are backpedaling with claiming they saw no blockage in his throat and even this “investigating” doctor in her lies over the phone conversations.  She tried to cover up their error by saying “well, we normally don’t look under the tongue of dogs like we do cats” … this is an usual dog yada yada yada …. but if they did … they would have instantly of seen the fibers caught … since my local vet said they were wrapped around his tongue like dental floss!   And this “investigator” doctor said she knows and worked personally with my local vet so when she saw his name and the invoices I emailed her along with the picture of the blockage fibers he removed … she knew they blew it BIG time.

Falsifying documentation is illegal (even in the animal medical records), so they didn’t see any evidence of esophageal blockage because they did not take shots of the esophageal area. The stomach may have been a bit bloated because that much fiber in that small body would have seeped into the upper stomach as well, probably near or even pushing h rough the lower esophageal sphincter. It certainly sounds like they lied, falsified documentation, and gave an incorrect diagnosis from incorrect assessment and the delay could have been a lot worse except for the prayers and God’s mercy.

Personally I believe they are short staff … the mega banner sign outdoors says it and when you call them the AI answering service says the same “we are short staff do to covid …” … so you have to wonder if the knowledgeable workers resigned.  They did nothing but give me the run around and kept changing the diagnose of what was wrong.  When they said he was poisoned … that’s when I feel they couldn’t figure out what was really wrong and when I asked what toxins “they found” in his system they wouldn’t tell me.  He didn’t eat for them … even though they tried to get him to eat.  Heck he couldn’t even open up his mouth … the fibers were wrapped around his tongue so I think he was really neglected with care the whole time.  They normally don’t release a pet until they start eating … so why was he released?   The only thing they did do was give him I.V. liquids since he was dehydrated and a stomach x-ray … but to justify $2,476.92 for doing that?   So out of that … they are holding on to $1,383.92 and I’m still waiting for the $1,093 credit to post to my account …even though they said they processed the credit yesterday.

I’m very happy for you that you got at least $1,093.00 back. My dog Jake is no longer living but back in the day he had his knee blow out and it cost $2500 (2005). Less than a week after his cast came off it blew out again! They gave a discount of about $250. So it was either pay another $2500 or have his leg taken off. I’d have had to change his name to Tripod if they did that so to save from having to buy another $5.00 dog tag with his new name on it    we ended up spending the additional $2500. The pet industry is booming. It’s estimated the US pet industry reached $99 billion in 2020 and we can certainly see why! Makes me wonder how much we overpaid for services like Geri received from that pet hospital?

This industry preys upon the emotional attachment to pets!

Knowing but only 50% of people are pet lovers, they milk it for all they can!

This has long been recognized, and has helped me not to form deep emotional attachments!

Funeral and internment costs can equal that of humans!  Really!!!

I’m thankful for Vet’s but at the same time it’s their prices that have become comparable to human charges, or so it feels. I had a cat I adored, brought back when we left the mission field in Guatemala. But he developed heart issue’s, and stones on top of that. Eventually he had to be put down. My next cat was announced heart healthy but do you know, she later began to lose her most important teeth for chewing taking turns at having to be removed. And had diabetes. It went from bad to worse to where she stopped eating. That’s when I searched and found the major degree of unhealthy pet food ingredients that can actually cause disease in pets. It is so painful to watch your pet not be able to eat, even Vet prescribed food. It is a hardship, and if not a hardship, just outright wrong for Vet clinics to charge pet owners such outrageous prices that become undo-able eventually, giving only one last option. In learning how unhealthy pet food is/can be, to have another pet for me, would have been just waiting for another disease to come about, the high cost of trying to bring them back to health, and watching them suffer so, which I choose to no longer do. Praying the Lord will allow us to have our pets again, but in heaven where there will be no death ever again.

There is also no misinterpreting litter life or pack mentality as human behaviors!

Cost prohibition aside, we are to enjoy many things in this life, but only love humans!

Animal activists have skewed the placement of Godly affections, IMO.

God created the animal kingdom and takes pleasure in His creative efforts, but love, I think not!
We are instructed to love God, our neighbors, ourselves, one another, and our spouses and children, anything with a redeemable soul!

      Animal souls are not redeemable!

As great as they are, we are not told to love the sun, moon or stars!  Neither angels!

True but we are told to love our neighbors, ourselves, one another, and our spouses and children because often times they are quite unlovable.   Plus in our junk yard of a language we only have one word, love, that means many different things. I love to feel good. I love the color blue, I love a good hamburger. None of those means the same thing as I love God, I love my family, I love my neighbor…all three of which are different. I love no one and nothing like I love God! The Bible mentions three types of love: Agape, Eros, and Philos, but there are four other words for love: Storge, Ludus, Pragma, and Philautia. But in English there is only one word for love. So it has to be tken in the context in which it is written or spoken.

As a foreshadow of resurrection when graves were opened of saints long dead, pets were not included!

Your mincing of words to justify an long standing emotional state does’nt square with doctrinal truth!

Should we love Angel’s or demons also!  Defining love can be subjective, but not with God!

These are hard sayings I know, attacking long held belief systems!

We are to simply regard and give thanks for all that God has created, but love never!

Nowhere in scripture is this ever supported!!!

I agree, having a pet is very comforting and restful, they accept you as you are. I have had several fur friends, mostly large dogs, one Dane, one Collie, two Shepards and then one small mix breed (not even sure what all he was) … haven’t had one in a few decades because we traveled so much, now I have thoughts of getting another one once our house Reno is completed, but I am so hopeful to leave for our heavenly flight that it is a difficult decision. Enjoy your little chew monster.

Biblical truth? I think you are throwing your net over too broad a swath. While some people may take this to the extreme you are also making accusations against some strong Christians who have carried the cross of faith for 50+ years, myself included. You do not know the depth of my heart and to stand in judgement of me puts you on a very slippery slope with God. Here’s some Biblical truth: Judge not lest ye be judged.

B-)     You would think they would want to do right but no siree … they called me to issue the credit and the number was lower than yesterday’s figure.    I said oh nooooo the investigator doctor and I agreed to $1,093 not $1,066.  So I was placed on hold and then the investigator doctor got on the line … she tried to pull a fast one and said well that was just “a quote” I gave you.  I said (I called her by her first name) nope … we both agreed to $1,093 … if you’re going to pull this … then I want half of $2,476.92 … which will be $1,238.46.  Then I heard this big sigh … and said alright … make it $1,093.  Then she switched me back over to the finance office and the lady there “claimed she will processed the credit” but I have yet to see the receipt post to my email.  I think they will be taking their sweet ol’ time ….

Can you pray they will process the credit today?  Thanks

Well I finally got the email receipt … but it shows BOTH numbers  so I had to call and say which number was credited back to me??  They claim the higher number.  So we shall soon see …

Woohoo … I just got notification that the credit refund from the Vet hospital finally posted to my account … it took them 4 days to hand over the money.  Yet when they want to charge you with whopper fees … the transactions process in a nano second. B-)

Thanks again for your prayers, I appreciated them in getting this mess resolved.

Glad you can enjoy him!  I have had two dogs who were chewers!

One dog would bear his teeth and growl at me when I tried to kiss my children!

Indeed, they also shall be redeemed from the curse, and the lion and lamb will lay together!

Since the curse there has been emnity between man and animals!  Even David killed a lion and a bear!

And in the wild they prey upon one another!

Back in 2015 …. I was grieving big time in losing 3 close loved ones in 5 years so I listen to the advice of a few that said “get a dog … they will bring happiness”.   I caved and followed their advice.  I picked a breed I was familiar with never realizing he was going to be a massive chewer of anything that is not edible.    I also believed the rapture was going to happen soon before any major health issues … big sigh … and here we are 6 years later and 2 hospital visits so far    On a plus side, he does bring joy, keeps me company and protects me … but it certainly is coming with a BIG price tag to enjoy these benefits.   B-)    Hopefully 2022 is THE year we fly home!!!
