Japan agency warns against tsunami after Indonesia volcano eruption:

TOKYO (Kyodo) — Japan’s weather agency warned that a tsunami could arrive at the islands of Miyako and Yaeyama in the southern prefecture of Okinawa at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday (their time) following a big volcanic eruption in Indonesia.

The eruption occurred at Mt. Semeru on the main island of Java at around 11:18 a.m., according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

An eruption of the 3,676-meter-high volcano, located about 850 kilometers southeast of the capital Jakarta, exactly one year ago led to the deaths of many people.

Global Warming? Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover At 56-Year High:

NOAA and Rutgers University released new data that showed snow cover across the Northern Hemisphere reached the highest level since measurements began in 1967 and are currently above the 56-year mean.

“Extensive snow extent early in the season is an indicator of persistent cold as we head into winter proper,” weather blog Severe Weather Europe said.

Most mainstream media outlets overlooked this data because it is an inconvenient truth for the climate change narrative they’re pushing.

A severe winter for the Northern Hemisphere might complicate power grids for western countries that are hellbent on disrupting energy flows by sanctioning Russia, forcing the world into the worst energy crisis in a generation. Since the US and Europe’s natural gas storage facilities have flipped into withdrawal season, the clock starts as storage levels could quickly wind down if temperatures stay below average, which would continue to boost energy prices.

Very strong and shallow M7.0 earthquake hits Vanuatu:

A very strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M7.0 hit Vanuatu at 12:32 UTC on January 8, 2023. The agency is reporting a depth of 27.7 km (17.2 miles). EMSC reports M7.0 at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).

Overall, the population in this region resides in structures that are highly vulnerable to earthquake shaking, though some resistant structures exist. The predominant vulnerable building types are unknown/miscellaneous types and wood construction.

Earthquakes Increase from 60/Week to 600/Week on Hawaii Island:

According to scientists with USGS’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO), earthquake activity has increased from about 60 earthquakes per week to now 600 over the last five years near the town of Pahala.  Tucked between Mauna Loa and Kilauea volcanoes, Pahala is a small community with roots as a former sugar plantation. With a population of only about 1,400, residents often feel the earthquakes beneath their feet -often several times per day.

Turkey and Syria earthquake live updates: hundreds dead after strong 7.8-magnitude quake:

More than 300 dead in Turkey and Syria.
The toll from the earthquake in Syria has risen to more than 230 dead, and 600 wounded, a senior health official has told state media.

In neighbouring Turkey, where the earthquake was centred, the nation’s disaster management agency AFAD said on Monday that 76 people had been killed and 440 injured.

The quake hit at 4:17am local time (01:17 GMT) and was felt in Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Greece and Israel.

This is astounding.  Buildings are still falling in Turkey and Syria….Israel had a smaller one………it sure feels like we have turned a corner and moved a larger step forward.  I am in southern Spain which is like south Fla.  We got hail yesterday, looked like snow.

i had not been reading any news til a little today…may the Lord use this tragedy to draw people to Himself that they may be comforted and strengthened in their faith if they know Him and for those who don’t, I pray He will send Born Again Believers to minister to the physical and spiritual needs and that thousands upon thousands will find hope in receiving eternal life from the One Who died to set them free from spiritual death- separation from the True and Living God Who made them and loves them- please Father, reveal Yourself to them in these terrifying, heart breaking times and give them a tender heart to receive the gift of salvation!

Well stay away from anything from Ghirardelli Chocolates they have been spiking their candies, cakes and brownie mixes with gross things.  I got a freebie brownie mix and made a batch and after 1 bite I could taste something was wrong. 🤪    Stick with Betty Crocker Brownie mixes .. they are still GREAT and edible like home-made.

Severe flooding has struck south Florida, shutting down the Fort Lauderdale airport until at least 5 a.m. on Friday, prompting a State of Emergency declaration for Broward County.

Texas Dairy Farm Explosion Kills 18,000 Cattle: Cause Still Undetermined:

An estimated 18,000 milking cows were killed, and one person was left critically injured, after an explosion ripped through a Texas dairy farm on Monday. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blast.

The explosion rocked nearby houses and a pall of smoke could be seen 30 miles away.

The Animal Welfare Institute estimated the incident is the deadliest barn fire in Texas and the deadliest involving cattle since the organization started tracking the fires in 2013, KFDA reported.

Interesting video. I had seen on a secular geology video about the crack in Africa. They were predicting a new continent and a new sea as a result.

One thing a do not like about the “Earth Is Growning” video is that he preaches baptism as a requirement for salvation. This is simply not true. Just ask the thief on the cross next to Jesus. The ONLY requirement for salvation is faith in Jesus. Anything else is “Jesus +” theology which suggests that Christ’s finishing work on the cross was not enough. Baptism is a wonderful thing and I highly encourage everyone to do so but it simply is not a requirement for salvation. If it were then many who died after giving their hearts to the Lord would be in hell because they didn’t make it to a bit of water.

I don’t think he’ll get left behind. He seems to truly love Jesus, he just has a theological point incorrect. I don’t think it will cause him to lose his salvation. It’s a common misinterpretation on the Scriptures. I have heard it from others that baptism is a requirement. I think their heart is sincere, they are just wrong.

Actually, when I heard that, I didn’t believe it was true.  Just read on Wikipedia that the earthquake made the bell ring, not crack.  This is also what I remember learning in school in Pennsylvania.

“Cast at London’s Whitechapel Bell Foundry, the bell arrived in Philadelphia in August 1752. Because the metal was too brittle, it cracked during a test strike and had to be recast twice. ”

“By 1846, a thin crack had begun to affect the sound of the bell. The bell was repaired in 1846 and rung on February 23 for George Washington’s birthday celebration. On this date, after a few hours, the bell received its fatal crack and has not been rung since.”
