I am truly sad that we are still here!  That said, I am grateful to be waiting not only with believers, but with people who long for His appearance!

We are a diverse and motly crew still being in our flesh and blood existance, but as stated, seeing the Holy Spirit shine through each one here is a joy!

Also would like to point out:

In my assertion of a divine disclosure prior to the Rapture, I could have easily claimed that it would be a private occurance!!!

Yet my assertion was that every believer would be imparted with divine knowledge, or a universal “word of knowledge”!

Again, God is Lord, whether this occurs or not!

But this has been viewed by me as but one last gift from the Bridegroom for His bride in this realm!

A comforting and loving thought to be sure one would think, but I have been proven overwhelmingly wrong in this assertion!

God be praised, and come quickly!

      Let’s dive into this TR!

I will go first……looking back into scripture let’s look at how the Lord has informed His people in the past and see if we can determine whether it is a likely thing for us to get a 1-3-7 day solid forewarning or if we are given all that we are to know beforehand with regards to the timing of the Rapture.

We recognize that the Lord talked directly to His prophets in the old testament. This does not happen in our day since Jesus has come and now the Holy Spirit indwells us. We are spoken to in our hearts, not audibly…..although sometimes audible would be nice….”Don’t go there or do that” etc :mdrmdr:     I digress.. lol

In 2 Kings chapter 2 details are given prior to Elijah going to heaven in a whirlwind of chariots and horses of fire. Elijah knew he was going and which day! Elisha also knew that this was about to happen and the day of it, as did the sons of the prophets of Bethel, Jericho, and the sons of the prophets near the Jordan. In each instance that Elijah asked Elisha to stay so that he could go on to the next place, Elisha refused and stayed with him. Each place the sons of the prophets said…”Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today? to which Elisha answered “yes, I know, keep silent!”

So obviously there were several people who followed the Lord that had knowledge that the Lord was about to take Elijah away, and Elijah and Elisha also knew….more importantly they knew the DAY. Which supports the scripture in the old testament that says “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7

Now the argument can be made that since Jesus has come and the Holy Spirit is now within the believers that all the words that the Lord speaks to us now are in scripture and written in our hearts. He has also given His revelation to John who wrote was is to come. While we are still servants, we are not prophets.

I believe that the Spirit has been speaking to us all of the times we are living in. First to us, the watchmen who have been drawn to watch nearly our whole lives and more recently to the body of believers who have been recognizing that these are the end times that Jesus spoke of.

I would love for there to be a 1 or 3 or 7 day heads up that the Rapture was about to happen….it would fuel our boldness to witness to the lost before He comes by agreeing to those around us of what we see and know. I also recall that Jesus said “blessed is he who believes but has not seen.” He may intend that for everyone who is in the body of Christ during the age of grace to be won purely on faith alone. If we were given a high sign to warn of the Rapture would that make converts of people who “need” a sign, and are too reluctant to believe with faith alone? They will certainly get a sign when the Rapture happens….and many will believe after that, but will suffer much.

Anyway, I have started with a few points and hopefully others will chime in for a lively discussion that TR has brought up :rose:

Indeed God’s heart of disclosure started in the garden when revealing the wages of sin!

Christ was prophesied and promised 4000 yrs beforehand!

Israel was told 3 days before crossing the Jordon river into promised land!

The list is endless to say the least describing God’s heart, character and repeated interactions with man!

Pointing out that the Rapture was a mystery until revealed!

Yet no one could even acknowledge this fact!  But adding to this, more than one person has expressed disdain at the very thought that God’s love could so accommodate seeing no need of such a word of knowledge!

It is this which had floored me!  Not whether I could be right or wrong! Especially against the backdrop of the many mundane and dicey doctrines our forum entertained adinfinitum!!!

Never claiming this as a word from the Lord, but simply asked the possibility be considered!  All to no avail when repeatedly offered over a span of 8 yrs!

Yet every timeline imaginable and every theory was exhaustively entertained!

Again, I’m not looking to be right, but perhaps be a blessing bringing forth a comforting thought!

Either way, all honor, praise and glory belongs to the Lord!

I have shared what has been in my Spirit for over 25 yrs!

The biggest reason I do not have much to say about this topic is because I really do not want a heads up. I literally don’t think I could handle it. I would go loonier than I already am if I knew we only had three days left. I would hyperventilate and probably suffer cardiac arrest due to the overwhelming joy of knowing we are about to be gone and then I’d miss the rapture altogether anyway. And why would anyone listen to my witness any more than they do now if I told them “The Lord has said He is coming back in three days”. I know I would write that person off as a loon and I am a lifelong Christian and watcher. I think we will have a sense right before it happens but I really don’t want to know three days ahead of time. I just don’t think I’d deal with it very well.

We have the promise – he will come for us (if I go away,…I will come again…and will take you to where I am…); Jesus said it – the simplicity of believing our savior says what he means is in itself a comfort — Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever Heb. 13:8. Just keep watching! It is very exciting to see what Russia is doing — plus the Middle East is going to implode at any moment. :prayer-hands:

Sorry to throw joy and optimism in here but I must. ;-)

I am glad to be here because it is the Lord’s will for me. On this earth, this is the only time to be able to earn eternal rewards. We can add jewels in our crown that we can cast at the feet of Yeshua. The Holy Spirit working through us is ultimately responsible for any rewards we are given. He will be glorified! :yahoo:

As for getting a heads up, I’m with Yohanan. Perhaps it would be too much for me or if I knew it was in a week’s time, I would probably slack off until the last moment like cramming for an exam the night before.

I’ll just take it day by day. Every day is a gift from God and I am grateful. When eternity comes, I will be eternally grateful. :yahoo:

God knows best and I’ll trust His plan. :good:

Anyway, let us cheer on and encourage each other as we run that race. The finish line is in sight.

      Hebrews 10:23-25

      New King James Version

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Good perspective Arthur, that is helpful- sometimes I get hyper-focused on the fact that I want to go home because I long for the reunion with my daughter so much, but it’s good to get my mind off of myself and back to the work at hand, we all know it is sooner than it has ever been, and I certainly want to be told “well done thou good and faithful servant”…..I will now look think about another day to earn rewards :thankyou

Thank you, churchgal. I have to remind myself daily to keep things in perspective. I am very excited about the Rapture but the race is still on. :)

I long to meet my father again and so many other relatives in that great reunion in the sky, yeah. It’s going to be so wonderful to see you and your daughter together again. I think all us here on RITAN will be crying tears of joy. :) Until then, I think she is watching up in heaven with that great cloud of witnesses, cheering you on. :)

I just don’t have a recollection that the majority of members have every time for years, only expressed disdain for what you are hoping for TR. My recollection is that there has been back and forth on the subject, with probability that the end consensus was usually that no one knows.

To me the most grand gift is that God has promised us that Rapture. That He will save His Bride out of the clutches of the Tribulation, out of the hands of the evil men and their evil plans that we are now only seeing a portion of – and that is bad enough! What we will be saved out of in that twinkling of an eye, is the ultimate Gift imo.

Speaking for many I believe, our eyes and hearts and faith are on the Rapture itself. Our focus is that glorious Call upward to meet Jesus in the Air. This is the gift. This is the promise, this is the majestic power of God as we have never seen. His spoken Word coming to Life, commanding in the most beautiful creative way!

I personally don’t feel that I need prior knowledge of that Day. I’m so immersed in just That Day alone, in all it’s Glory.

Aren’t we to be believing that the Rapture can come at any second anyway? Why would we want to hold on to one more minute of life on earth, let alone 3 days. If the Body of Christ could be with the Lord in the next second, staying 3 days on earth instead could be torture, knowing it’s coming but not yet being with Him. Which would you really choose.

The Rapture is for those who believe! Have we not preached to and prayed for salvation to strangers, acquaintances, friends, co-workers and family, some who have heeded the call, but many who have not? Should God grant 3 more days for what His children had spent our christian lifetimes sharing with others, to no avail?

How heartbreaking to us, for the one’s who have not listened. We have been shunned, rejected, mocked, and have watched these we love, walk away, from Jesus, their only Hope. For many, all we have left is that they will make the right choice in the Tribulation.

Yes, choice! Choice is biblical. For all those who continued to resist the call of Christ, who resisted those who love them, who told Truth to them, those who resisted God’s outstretched arm; it was their choice. Would God grant a special 3 day notice for them to make a final choice? He would have to present to them some sort of miracle revelation or manifestation to make them believe. Would He give that to those who have willingly rejected Him at every opportunity they had to just simply believe, in faith?

I’m thinking not. I’m thinking many will heartbreakingly have to suffer the Tribulation because of their choices.

The Word says: …”I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, (good and evil), therefore choose life that you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice and that you may cling to Him, for He is your Life and the length of your days.”

I’m just not sure or sense that God would give that 3 day last chance to those who wouldn’t embrace Him, though at the very least God has said, …”because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse.”

This was their choice, as painful as that is. Thank the Lord we can continue to pray for the lost and those we love, right up to the moment of the Rapture. Imo, that is God’s focus for us up till then.

I advise that each of us ask ourselves and God too, whether continuing to belabor the nature or expectation of this prior-notice by God question is worthwhile.  I suggest everyone with a personal interest of whatever nature, conduct their own private risk analysis.

Most all of us have settled our own expectations of what the future holds relative to the Rapture.  That’s why we’re all here.  Our hopes are important to us, but I guarantee none of us knows everything about the future and the unfolding of these end times.  What we individually expect, may not manifest.

I recall relative to discussions a rule of thumb that says, “In essentials Unity, in non-essentials Liberty, in all things, Charity.”  An argument concerning an essential point is something worth “going to the mat” for.  However, going to the mat disagreeing on non-essential points should be avoided.  Romans 12:18 urges us, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”

Just because someone else, or even everyone else, might not share my own views about even my most cherished expectations, doesn’t make mine wrong nor right.  Nor can any of my personal God-felt sincere beliefs validate them.

The future may be repeated as in the past, but the Rapture in particular is without precedent.  I even hesitate to declare that though without qualifying it — nothing new under the sun.  King Solomon mentions “ages past.”

My nature upon encountering this sort of disagreement we seem to have is to walk away.  If lots of, or even a few people, see this as an essential, go ahead and debate it.  “Maybe so, maybe not…?!?!?”  But please don’t be discouraged if I’m uninvolved.  It’s non-essential doctrine deserving LIBERTY!  And I’d prefer the discussion be taken offline to Private Messaging and there debated for a few more weeks until the Rapture.  Who knows?  Maybe there will be a prize for whomever was right, or even close.

So those are just my characteristically verbose thoughts.  No harm.  No foul.

As Yohanan often writes, “Carry on.”

Well I’m an odd ball here … because I would LOVE to know the rapture date and often asked for clues. B-)  If not the actual day then at lease the month or the year would be nice. Then I would mark off my calendar with glee :mail: as I anxiously wait … like it was Christmas day.  My circumstances are all so different from many of you.  You all have family and the burdens of loved ones who are still not saved … so you’re torn and want to still stay here to see them become believers.  I understand your wish.  My circumstances are the total opposite.  I never wanted to be married nor have any kids.  I had fun with the single life while staying faithful and doing the Lord’s work in witnessing.  My work is now done … its far and few who want to talk and hear the Good News.  I feel like I’m in limbo as I long to go to my eternal home.  My loved ones that truly cared for me are already there waiting … while I spend almost every holiday by myself with my faithful companion fur baby.  Life sure hasn’t been fun this past 11 years … its like being in prison but you are able to walk around.  I used to go out to eat and bring my ipad or a book and I would often observe the tables around me with  people laughing and having a good time with their families while I waited for my meal.  I used to envy them … I had to remind myself of Psalm 37 and read it twice a day.  I started to look at them in a different light … chances are they are all lost and this life is all they have and then they will not see each other ever again.  Then my attitude changed … I no longer envied but felt sorry for them instead.  The tables will be changing soon and only good times forevermore will be my future.  Then when covid hit … I think that changed the playing field for EVERYONE so I really feel sorry for the lost now.  Plus with time speeding up they really are getting short changed if they don’t wise up and get saved soon.  So with these thoughts and with my unique circumstances in this lonely life … I would LOVE to have that high watch date disclosure and would stay on cloud 9 as I wait for the approaching day of departure!!!!!

Geri, before Covid I used to eat a late lunch at the same comfortable restaurant by myself every day.  I started talking to the other people who also went there all the time, some singles and some couples, and eventually I became friends with many of them.  A lot were Christians.  I miss that.

TR, you already are free. Since you have put your trust in Jesus for your salvation, you are no longer in prison or in bondage. The shackles you wore, and we all once wore, have been broken. :good:

You might say that we are in a war and behind enemy lines. That would be true. However, the good news is that the enemy cannot capture us or imprison us any longer.

36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

        New King James Version

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

        Because He has anointed Me

        To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

With respect, I think Jesus made this clear.

Matthew 24:42-44 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Knowing it is near, even at the very door is one thing, but knowing the day and hour is another.

Don’t all of Matthew 24 and 25 concern the second coming, so Jesus there is describing distinctly post-Rapture events?  It has been a debate inside my head ever since I spent many hours listening to Andy Woods YouTubes last year.  It’s not a challenge, just wondering…

I personally feel this saying “no man knows the day or the hour” Jesus was giving out a clue … and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the rapture.  The Matt 24 passage is all about the disciples talking about when will Jesus set up His Kingdom for the millennium age (2nd Coming)  and has nothing to do with the rapture event.  Many Jews associate the phrase “no man knows the day or the hour” with the Feast of Trumpets.

MyWhiteStone, I am of the same opinion concerning Matthew 24-25. The main context is the second coming. However, the part about “thief in the night” I believe is  a reference to the Rapture. The reason I say that is:

          1. When Jesus returns in power and glory it will not come as a surprise, in fact the armies of the earth are coming to do battle with Jesus.

          2. The moment the Antichrist confirms the covenant, it starts a countdown. You will know the day and hour Jesus steps foot on the earth after that event. I am of the opinion the “covenant” is not necessarily a peace agreement.

          3. The Rapture event has no warning or signs preceding the event. The fact we’re seeing all the pieces falling into place for the “big show”, proves this event can happen at any moment.

I do share Tenderreed’s frustration, in the fact that I would’ve guessed it should’ve happened by now. My finite mind thinks we’re overdue.

          God Bless

Geri9, I understand the “idiom” POV concerning the phrase. Shavuot for example is also used in the same context, not knowing the day or hour. I am an anytime rapture believer, but I think if it were to land on a feast day, Shavuot makes the best sense. (In my brain that is, lol)

True enough, but we are comparing apples and oranges here!!!

I am saved true enough!  And I have always stated no man knows the day or hour!!!

Scripture makes it abundantly clear point, no man in his own authority can claim such knowledge!  So then I refer to God’s authority with any release of  knowledge!  That’s the difference here!

      Yet only time will tell!

So sad that so many finds this a bothersome endeavor!

God is concerned with every jot and tittle in connection with the fulfillment of His word!

And on the slightest chance ever of being an inspired thought from Him, He would also marvel at the blowback!

Good thing Paul was considered a major prophet or we would have never embraced the Rapture as heartfelt as we have!

It’s not a bothersome endeavor to those of us who take the Bible literally. There are no more prophets. God has chosen to speak to us in His holy Word and nowhere in the pages do I see Jesus instructing us to listen for a three day heads up. What He does command us to do is to love one another, not badger one another because we don’t see eye to eye on an insignificant topic. Seems to me that the special privilege of being raptured off this planet is enough. Certainly more than any other generation ever received beside the one that was blessed by His first advent. If the Body of Christ is going to take sides on such a small matter as this then how are we any different from the world and why would any thinking person want to join us?

I have a new idea which wasn’t well received!  I have expressed my feelings on the matter!  Short of any other inquiries, I consider the matter closed!!!

Will I still consider the possibility personally,  until the Rapture, yes!

For it is the Rapture I look forward to, not any related details!

      Humbly yours, TR

For me, I’d be breathlessly overjoyed to know the day ~ ~

      ahhhhhh ~

      To watch or not watch

To share this gift  . . or not ~

~ ~ Though we do get tired

~ ~ Do we let expire our gifted desire?

      ~~

Surely our God sees and hears our sighs,  our tears ~

Watching for Our Lord’s return?     OH, Jesus

, we shall never give up

We do long to see You

YESSSSSSSSSS   ~ ~ face to Face

      up close, within Christ’s embrace !  ~

. . how  much more then

Our Lord’s  Heart stays ~ ~  patiently yearning

Calming our hearts amidst our churning ~~

~~ ~ We’ve lost count, how often,  Lord

You calm Your Bride,  by Your Word,  to be at your Side

~  Til then, we can’t ‘wait’ to hear You say, “Arise My Bride  ~

For me, I’d LOVE to know the day

to finally experience the rapture ride

.  we lean on You, Your Word,  Lord

      with stayed  encouragement,

      even  admonished

      and, blessedly  astonished,

til then, over Your Spirited nourishment ~

If the Lord should so gift us Donna, I would receive it!

But not to be made a point of division!

      To each his own!

Even if I don’t hear the fat lady singing, I’ll know it’s time to go when they turn on the lights!

I can still hear in my head Don Meredith singing “turn out the lights, the party’s over!” on Monday Night Football. 😁

Since coming to the realization after the fact, that the Rapture was hidden on types and shadows throught scripture!

I can easily see a double entendre to the parable of the ten virgins!

We can neither read into or be legalistic with our understanding of bible interpretation, apart from the basic tenants of salvation!

Rightly dividing His word, not ours!
