TR
Hope everything, I mean Everything, is well with you!
Your absence here is not good, does not sit well with me, as far as I am concerned.
Please, come back.
Let us finish strong together Brother!

I am grieved to say that Tender Reed is no longer a member here.
This forum does not have many rules. There are only nine listed. We try to be flexible whenever possible but one thing we will not tolerate is a member who blatantly and continuously refuses correction. Like others before him, Tender Reed could not take correction from a female moderator. After more attempt than I can possibly list (you really have no idea!) he just could not submit to female authority, and barely to mine. After more grace than was ever allowed another member we finally had no choice but to dispatch him. This is something we do not enjoy doing. Neither Kolleen or I enjoy having to correct members here. Thankfully it is rare. We are all adults and we expect everyone to act as such and more importantly to act in a manner worthy of being a Christian. We have had members in the past who appeared holy and reverant yet would use abusive and foul language when Kolleen asked them to conform to the rules. No, this was not Tender Reed, but just know that a lot goes on in the background that none of you ever see. When we have to dispatch a member we take no joy in it whatsoever but when it happens just know it was a long time in the making. Those of you who have heard from either Kolleen or me in a PM know we are not heavy handed in our approach. We value our members and want everyone to participate and to be happy being here. We do not lord our position over anyone. We do what we do as an act of service. So when a member forces our hand we are terribly grieved over it, especially a long standing member, but at some point we have to make the difficult decisions and Tender Reed forced that decision. We wish him well and look forward to seeing him at the great banquet with out Lord but he will not be here any longer…….his decision.

We are sorry, too Melissa. We love TR. We are in a difficult position when things like this come about. We are not asking to be held in anyone’s esteem. We just want people to follow the measly rules and at least be civil if we are in dialog with members about things that we feel need to be corrected. We are not better than anyone else. In fact, we feel beyond blessed to be able to serve in this capacity. And truth be told, the benefit I enjoy from being a mod is that I can correct my posts long after most everyone else can. But I’m no better or more holy or more whatever than anyone here but when a mod asks a member to self correct and they choose not to then we have to do things we really dont want to do. And that is very much the case with Tender Reed.

Thank you Yohanan; spoken in truth for both of us. Trusting our RN members will understand, and not allow division of any sort over what is unknown. When any Mod has to moderate, it also seems a needed reminder that, moderation issue’s are to stay between the Mods and the member. Any member issue with the Mods isn’t for our open discussion forum. Taking a moderation issue to the forum is in itself a reason for removal. This has never had to be said before, but with two recent experiences of that nature, it’s important to point out. We’re trusting that taking up an offense for another won’t happen here for the actions we felt were necessary to take.

Right! The details we will not discuss but you are all free to comment. We understand that this may come as a surprise to most and that people want to express their thoughts. That is fine and we will try to address what we can.

Thank you Yohanan and Kolleen for keeping the house in order. I appreciate ALL the work the mods do to keep this group together and alive. I’ve been here for years and its my “safe zone” where I know I can come and hear the truth, and those here are all in alignment with that truth. While I’m sad to see TR go, I understand and support your decisions..

Thank you to the mods for watching out for the RITAN family. Challenges can be difficult and as the Lord is long suffering, I am sure you have been as well.
As Yohanan said, much sooner than we even think, we will be with our entire family and our Heavenly Father.

I too support your decision and I know it must have been soooo very difficult for you.
I am sorry your authority in leadership was questioned.
This saddens me so much
