BlockedDo you think there will be some sort of telecommunication type service in the next life? Suppose you’re on a planet exploring or eating donuts and drinking your coffee there and you get summoned you’re needed back asap in heaven or on the earth …. do you think you will be notified by a text message, email, cell phone call, perhaps will it be angel that delivers the message personally to you, or will it be a bird or will we just have supersonic hearing?
How about in the libraries in heaven or on the earth … do you think we will need a computer to search for the location of the book(s)? I doubt we will be fined if we are late in returning the book(s) or will the millennium people be subject to that policy?
For you computer geeks … just wondering if you will really miss your computers/laptops/iPads, iPhone, etc. if they are not available in the next life?

ParticipantI know people who have said we would be able to read each other’s minds, information passing / sharing telepathically. After our sinful nature is gone, this might be an enormous advantage, highlighting genuine love and respect for everyone. One agenda. Zero hidden agenda.
One thing would puzzle me, that would need to be sorted out. Would a room full of people generate a telepathic cacophony like a large room full of people at a party does now? Maybe that white stone Jesus gives us includes, among other things, a unique personal MAC address. And we’d move in and out of various networks’ domains.
No need for security and no identity theft! Wow!
I just thought of a cool name for my dog up there: “Router!”

BlockedThis verse immediately came to my mind … when you mentioned that we would probably be able to read each other’s mind!
I John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
As far as noise pollution if we are all in the same room … I reckon our new ears can just block out that annoying noise and still be able to communicate with one another.
Hee hee hee … yes, Router is a great name for your dog!

ModeratorI saw a recent video interview with Elon Musk concerning bio-chip brain implants that would give humans the ability to learn at alarming speeds. The bio-chips would tie into a bank of super computers and learning would be forever changed. He actully was warning against such a thing in this video. But if man can create that kind of learning, just imagine (well, never ind. The Bible has already stated that no mind can comprehend the things of that God has in store for those who love Him) the kind of learning capabilities and telecommunications we will have access to. For me, I still prefer analog so I will not mind being without computers.

ParticipantEven now when in prayer, our God can ‘speak’ to our hearts faster than words can pronounce ~ `though our brain sorts seemingly chronologically what was said in our mind all at once, imagine Heaven and all the wonder of powerful communication, a Heavenly language having instant reception clearly understood ~~

ParticipantWe have already been given a glimpse of heaven in the form of our prayer language, by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
When we pray in tongues, we’re speaking in a heavenly language directly to God.
While we see through a glass darkly on this side of heaven, & most of the time have no idea what we’re uttering, i think that we’ll perfectly understand each other when we’re finally in eternity.
I think that a heavenly language will be understandable by all.
As for ‘planets out there’, sorry to say, but i don’t believe there are any. As in, i don’t believe there’s terra firma. Just wandering lights in the sky.

BlockedDo Raymond,
I believe the “gift of tongues” ceased … it was for the early church since they didn’t have colleges to learn the various languages and the Holy Spirit gifted them to speak so others could understand them so they could immediately be effective in winning the lost on their missionary journeys.
I Corinthians 13:8
“Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
Today … the so called “gift of tongues” is nothing but gibberish junk that makes no sense and nobody can interpret …. how is that glorifying to God? Its nothing but confusion and we know God is not the author of confusion.
I Corinthians 14:33
”For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

ParticipantI would not be sad to say goodbye to our devices – I use to spend so much time outside with a good book back before the internet was invented and released to the masses. I do not know what we will have in heaven as far as technology goes, but I am sure some form of it will still be needed on earth during the millennium in order for the non-glorified humans to get along. I don’t think they go back to the dark ages. I like the idea of being able to speak to Jesus and get an answer in my “head” or “heart.” I look forward to having a nature that is not struggling for balance with my time due to sin.

ParticipantI have to say that as our God is the creator of ALL, He will undoubtedly gives us the wisdom and speech intended for His children. Having been a deaf interpreter back in the 1980’s for mainstreamed junior high schoolers and working close with the deaf community at that time, many deaf will enjoy the gift of hearing for the first time. Several would say they wanted to hear Jesus first and the heavenly choir second. I get the speaking of the Holy Spirit with groaning to deep for words and I have often felt His presence as I have poured out my heart before God, but I long for the Masters touch of perfection via glorying as we are transformed from our mortal bodies to be like His glorious body, this would include the mind, spirit, soul, and vocal chords. Look at the resurrected body of Christ, just saying!
