        Just wondering your thoughts:

The destruction of the Tower of Syene –

Egypt and Ethiopia battle for Nile water rights.  It will take 40 yrs to clean up the Nile River from the nuclear fallout.  Who will do the cleanup?  Will it be those who make it through the trib and get ushered into the Millennium?  Or will the church also have this job duty?  I thought the Lord is going to restore the earth before the Millennium begins?  Or is He just going to rearrange the land mass of the city of Jeruaslem when He puts in feet on the Mount of Olives and it splits the mountain?

Also the burning of the G/M weapons/military equipment.  It takes 7 years to burn.  Since the Jews that flee to Petra mid-point wont be burning the weapons, who will continue the process to completion?   Will it be AC and his government that assign the job to other people?

Seems to me Sis, that the Lord will clean this place up.  He promised a new heaven and a new earth.

So glad you are with us @ RITAN, sis!

Gerri, no need to worry, after Jesus returns we will be OK. Jesus said a new heaven and new earth as tender stated. we will be transformed and His children. I would think our worry will be behind us and we will carry out His will. After the rapture we will be changed. Not heaven yet but getting there if not a life so beautiful. Worshiping our Lord and doing His will. Come quickly Lord Jesus you children seek your return.

                  Sounds wonderful Blake!

This verse has me pondering if our job duties will be brewing a lot of hot and cold tea.

                  Rev 22:2

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

                          :groan

I was at the dealership all afternoon having work done on my vehicle and they are doing all sorts of remodeling on their premises.   I was led down a zig-zag maze and shown to their new temporary waiting room and the service guy said “help yourself to the espresso coffee machine just around that corner.” :-(

3  1/2 hrs later I paid my bill and the cashier hands me this Dunkin Donuts beverage gift card.  I said what is this for?  Oh for being so patience with us during our remodeling and service … treat yourself to a cup of hot coffee. :-(

And then I logged into this forum board and saw your comment “don’t forget the coffee” :-(

16Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, the rain will not fall on them. 18And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, then rain will not fall on them; this will be the plague the LORD inflicts on the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.  Zechariah 14:16-17

The Millennium will be a time of peace, yet not total perfection.  There will still be rebellion within the heart and people will die, some due to judgment.

Not everyone will be able to flee, unfortunately.  A remnant heeds the warning and goes to Petra.  Maybe the rest of the inhabitants will resort to burning the weapons for fuel?  Don’t really know.

Egypt will be deserted for 40 years.

No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.  Ezekiel 29:11

It doesn’t seem as if any cleanup effort is even attempted during that time.

                            Thank you, David!

No worries on the order mix up of the display of verses.  You answered my questions with some excellent passages!

The reason I was asking was because there are some Christians who like to put the rapture off in the way way distance and use the excuse … it can’t happen until after the 7 year burning of the G/M weapons to perhaps the 40 years of the Nile clean up … unless the clean up occurs in the Millennium.

I never saw that passage about Egypt just being abandon for 40 years.  Makes sense now that the clean up will happen after the Millennium with the promise of a new heaven and earth.

                            II Peter 3

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

This is why I envision the new heaven and the new earth coming after the 1000 years:

                            https://khouse.org/articles/1997/60

The third New Testament creation-related passage which talks about atomic structure and physics is found in the Apostle Peter’s Second Epistle:

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise [rhoizedon, a rushing roar] and the elements [stoicheion, atoms] will be dissolved with fire and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10 The Greek word translated “elements” in the above mentioned passage from Colossians (and in 2 Peter also) is stoicheion, which can mean “the building blocks of the universe,” or “the ordered arrangement of things.” It can also mean the “atomic elements.” The word translated “dissolved” in 2 Peter 3:10 is literally (in Greek) luo, meaning “unloosed.” This language suggests that there will come a time in the future when God lets go of the nuclear forces which hold the atom together. This passage, like the one in Colossians, strongly suggests that the active power of God is behind the mysterious strong force that holds every atomic nucleus together. If this is so, all the other fundamental forces of nature are likewise forces that originate with Christ and His sustaining direction of the old creation.

Regarding the Strong Force, David, I suspect it is implied in Hebrews 1:2-4  “…in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.  He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.”

Or as it is said in Colossians 1:17, “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Yes, to my surprise the espresso coffee machine had a hot chocolate button.   However, it wasn’t very good … extremely weak and bitter … I’m positive a coffee bean fell into the cocoa mix compartment and contaminated the whole batch. So I settled for bottled water instead.

Next Friday I have to go back again for vehicle inspection since the mechanic took too long replacing my recall defective airbags.  I’m bracing myself for a repeat of coffee mania at that place.

Sadly, for over 50 yrs I have tried to engage people into discussion about the Rapture and have repeatedly been shut down.  Christians, pastors, teachers!

I have heard every lame excuse imaginable for it’s indefinate delay!

I was so bothered that I approached the Lord about it.  Being somewhat angry, I asked the Lord what the problem was.

He put two words into my spirit.  Fear & Unbelief!  From Christians no less.

I don’t attend a church because its all Laodecian around here in New England.  I used to drive 3 hrs round trip to attend a Bible church in Massachusetts.  The pastor there believed in the rapture and was a pre-tribber, however, he wouldn’t preach on it because he didn’t want to offend the charter members.  One played the piano, the other the organ, the other family did a lot of singing.  He was afraid they would leave.

Worst yet, I have asked so many pastors why they don’t give meat in their sermons.  Response: they don’t want to choke the babes in Christ. So everyone is starved by a steady diet of sermonettes. Often recycled ones at that.

When my family eats everyone gets fed!  Wasn’t Peter told to feed His sheep!

I hear you and agree.  I recall visiting a church like that.  After 3 weeks of pretty much the same milky message I moved on.

The sad thing with the Massachusetts pastor, he was good at preaching all the other subjects in the Bible and very mission minded but failed BIG time with NOT encouraging his flock to strive for the “Crown of Righteous” (looking up for the return of Jesus).
