The RITAN website was blocked by my computer security protection.  It says that some certificate has expired.  I was able to get around it, but probably others are having the same problem.

I kept getting a warning that someone was trying to hack and get my info.

Yep … I got this message last night … the security lock was missing … its not just google but duck duck go also gave out the warning.  Then I used my cell phone to check the website … the hacker wanted me to click on their special button to update something.  No waaay ….    I thought I was the only one having these issues.

Certificate is valid until Nov 22nd so that’s ok.   Could have just been an anomaly.

I hadn’t noticed before, but when I go to fivedoves.com, it says it is an insecure site.  So, on five doves I can still get to it, but last night I couldn’t get to this one.  What is the difference?

Any website that only starts with only http is not considered secure.  If it starts with https it is supposed to be secure.

I found this on google “The difference between the two protocols is that HTTPS uses TLS (SSL) to encrypt normal HTTP requests and responses. … A website that uses HTTP has HTTP:// in its URL, while a website that uses HTTPS has https://.”

So, the https ones are encripted.

I got the same message that Geri posted but ignored it as we were in the middle of relocating our connection and just thought it was part of the upheaval :mdrmdr:

Last evening I got the message from my browser and looked subsequently at the digital certificate credentials mentioned.  The expiration date on the certificate showed October 16.  My guess was the date finally turned October 17 within the time zone wherever the certificate(s) is(are) checked.

Kolleen then contacted Brie and Chelle about it on the mods’ messaging channel. Brie’s husband Richard maintains this website.  Todd noted validity until November 22 now.

      No conspiracy. :stinkerbell:

You’re too practical, Heidi.  LOL  Or maybe we should put Big Tech deep in the Glades.
