My good friend LA Marzulli and Chuck Missler “talk and talked” about the 10 dimensions and the fallen ones that surround us even though we cant see them on many occasions.

Their manta was that “we struggle not against things in this world but against the principalities. The fallen angels.”

LA Marzulli and Chuck will and would also both say; that when we know we are in the presence of the fallen ones that we are “to rebuke with the blood of Jesus.”

        “Got Questions. Org”

Question: “What are principalities and powers?”

Answer: The phrase principalities and powers occurs six times in the Bible, always in the King James Version and its derivatives (NKJV, MKJV). Other versions translate it variously as “rulers and authorities,” “forces and authorities,” and “rulers and powers.” In most places where the phrase appears, the contexts make it clear that it refers to the vast array of evil and malicious spirits who make war against the people of God. The principalities and powers of Satan are usually in view here, beings that wield power in the unseen realms to oppose everything and everyone that is of God.

The first mention of principalities and powers is in Romans 8:37–39: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” These verses are about the victory Christ has won over all the forces ranged against us. We are “more than conquerors” because no force—not life, not death, not angels, not demons, indeed nothing—can separate us from the love of God. The “powers” referred to here are those with miraculous powers, whether false teachers and prophets or the very demonic entities that empower them. What is clear is that, whoever they are, they cannot separate us from the love of God. Victory is assured. It would be unfortunate to dwell on identifying the powers and miss the main thrust of the verse, which is assurance about what God has done to save us.

Another mention of principalities and powers is in Colossians 1:16, “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” Here is the clear statement that God is the Creator and Ruler over all authorities, whether they submit to Him or rebel against Him. Whatever power the evil forces possess, they are not out of the ultimate control of our sovereign God, who uses even the wicked for bringing about His perfect plan and purpose (Daniel 4:35; Isaiah 46:10–11).

In the next chapter of Colossians, we read about Jesus’ ultimate power over all other powers: “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15). In keeping with all things, the powers are created by Christ and therefore under His control. They are not to be feared, for they have been disarmed by the cross. The Savior, by His death, took dominion from them, and took back what they had captured. Satan and his legions had invaded the earth and drawn mankind into captivity, subjecting them to their evil reign. But Christ, by His death, subdued the invaders and recaptured those who had been vanquished. Colossians 2:14 speaks of Jesus being nailed to the cross along with the written charges against us. The record of our wrongdoing, with which Satan accuses us before God, is nailed with Christ to the cross. It is thereby destroyed, and the powers can no longer accuse us; we are innocent in the eyes of God. Hence, they are disarmed.

Ephesians 3:10–11 presents different principalities and powers—those of the heavenly realms: “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Here we see the angelic hosts being shown the wisdom and purpose of God in the plan of salvation through Christ. Angels, both holy and unholy, witness the glory of God and the preeminence of Christ above all creatures in the church, those who are saved and preserved by His power (Ephesians 1:20–21).

Ephesians 6:12 declares the warfare in which we are engaged as we battle throughout our lives “against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” So, having been saved, we must continue to struggle to do good things in light of the sure victory promised in Romans 8. It is as though we are facing an army of dark powers who have been disarmed from real power and against whom we have been promised victory. It is our job to demonstrate and depend upon the wisdom and power of God in defeating them in our lives. We can do this by trusting in God’s victory.

The final reference to principalities and powers is Titus 3:1. Here they refer to those governmental authorities whom God has placed over us for our protection and welfare. They are God’s representatives on earth, and submission to Him involves submission to His duly constituted authorities. Those who rebel against earthly authorities are “rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves” (Romans 13:2).

So we have control over the fallen ones because of what Christ did on the Cross???? Sounds Right

So Rebuking should cast these Demons to Hell or aside for Awhile?

So why does it feel like our duration under these demonic entities lasts so long?

        I don’t know?

I will say through rebuking I’ve had only temporary relief only to rebuke several hours later some times minutes later.

So here is my struggle. Which Begs the Question

Must Satan ask the Father for permission to torment the elect, the body of Christ, those whose names are written in the lambs book of life?”

        Quote from

Must Satan Ask God’s Permission To Do Evil?

Quote from http://www.truthortradition” was mean for educational purposes only.

Misunderstanding rather than literal rather than figurative, the “conversations” between God and Satan in the book of Job has caused many people no end of confusion, because it certainly sounds as if the Devil must ask permission from God to do evil, and furthermore, that God sometimes grants him such permission. The New Testament, however, reveals Satan as the “god of this age,” who does not ask God’s permission before doing evil. If he did, the so-called “war” raging between the forces of good and evil would be a sham.

This is why the dialogue between God and Satan must be an allegory, set forth in Scripture as it is because of the limited understanding of the Old Testament believers. [1] The way most people have interpreted the book of Job leaves God looking like a bored puppeteer who gets his kicks by tormenting one of his puppets and killing a lot of innocent bystanders just to win a bet with the Devil. [2]By the way, if the Devil did have to get God’s permission in order to do evil, evil would be easy to stop. God could “Just say No!”

According to this author I’ve misinterpreted scripture. Satan doesnt have to ask for permission.

And Yes I’m the dork with a buried cross at each corner of my building. The same dork who has a cross in every corner of his apartment and the same dork with a cross above each door. Some times I think I’m tormented more because of that? :-)

If Satan doesnt have to ask permission from the father “Why Not?”

        1. “My struggle is that he knew my every step before I ever took it”

        2. “If he knew my every step he gave permission to let satan torment me before I was even born?”

        3. “If he knew I would rebuke and then I begged for relief, why wouldnt he let the relief last?”

I don’t think I will ever have an answer.

I know there is relief calling out to Christ and I know that we can rebuke and cast our demons. I wish I understood more.

The demonic attacks can come in various ways …

II Timothy 3:12 says “All those who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”  It’s a given we will be persecuted in various ways because the enemy wants to hinder us from witnessing/praying or serving the Lord at church.

If the attacks occur in the middle of the night, I say “in the Name of Jesus Christ get out of my presence” and they leave.  If the attacks happen during the day and I’m home,  I play the Bible on CD’s and/or old hymns of the faith or songs that give praise to Jesus.  Believe me, they will leave you alone ASAP.

Also check around your home and see if you have anything that has brought the demons into your home.  We can do this innocently.  For example … I bought a country picture called “wild rose berries” from a famous painter Pauline Campanelli.  I was thrilled to get this picture for only $5.00 at a Goodwill store.  However, as soon as I brought it home and hung it on the wall … weird things started to happen in the home and all of a sudden I was having health problems and I wasn’t getting relief.  After looking up the painter’s bio and saw she was a pagan and practiced witchcraft, ugh!  I immediately destroyed the painting and threw in the outside trash can and then the demons left me alone and then I was healed.

My sister meant well when she bought me a Himalayan Salt Lamp.  She bought one too – claimed it’s suppose to relieve stress.  Well … as soon as I plugged that lamp in …. I sense the dark demonic forces were in the house.   I got rid of that thing sooo quickly.  Told her what happened to warn her and she claimed she was experiencing the same oppressive junk.

Then I went to the pet store and bought a leather shape rabbit chewy toy.  The tag said “made in India”.  Sounds innocent … however, as soon as that toy was in the home weird things started happening as well including things falling off the wall in the middle of the night.  My puppy refused to chew/play with that toy.  Smart dog!  As soon as I tossed that toy in the outside trash can, all the junk stopped immediately.

Remember greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.  It doesn’t hurt to also pray for a hedge of protection … ask the Lord for Him to send the angels to surround your house, your vehicle, your work, and that you get a good nights rest without being disturbed.

I believe it involves (continued) standing in that authority we have been given.

I don’t know of anywhere it in Scripture it tells us to use the blood of Jesus as a weapon.  It does say we overcome through His blood, which means that because of the cross we are redeemed from the power of sin and receive salvation.  That is the means by which we are cleansed and become children of God.  It does not tell us we can invoke the blood to rid a place of demonic influence.  Perhaps in a secondary sense, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can petition the Lord for some relief.

Nevertheless, Paul asked the Lord several times to remove from him the “thorn in the flesh,” a messenger from Satan sent to buffet him.  Even Satan, when he was tempting Jesus in the wilderness, only left “for a more opportune time.”

Heavy stuff for sure!  Satan accuses the bretheren night and day and doesn’t seem to need permission in each instance.  What Adam and Eve lost in the Garden keeps theologians and prophets alike busy.

It seems to me, the greater challenge is to try and understand the Lord’s heart in all matters.  Sadly, because of our failure in the Garden and every day since Satan is allowed certain liberties.

It is firstly understood that our time upon the face of the Earth is a time of testing!  Just as Adam & Eve were tested. Before the Father invites us into His home He wants to know our hearts.

The angels rebelled against God while abiding in God’s home.  Having been made a little lower than the angels, God knew that it was simply a matter of time before we also would rebel.  But God chose that we should do so in our home and not His!

With regards to testing, trials, sifting, and demonic attacks they are what we must endure in this realm.  Many teachers and self proclaimed prophets have offered up some interesting doctrinal truths to try and explain such matters.

Some categorize, some pigeon hole, and some teach that the lack is with us.  Whether we lack in faith, understanding, or the ability to appropriate and manipulate scripture!

Sadly, the Church must endure many things.  As such we are instructed to pray without ceasing, test all things, be led by His Spirit and trust in the goodness and sovereignty of God!

Whether we must deal with God’s orchestrating the testing and working out of  our faith or contend with doctrines of demons and Satan’s lying signs and wonders! For if it were possible, even the elect could be deceived.

Many indeed are deceived already, and have fallen away from much truth.  There is no lack of spiritual landmines that we as believers must negotiate.  Sadly, many of these landmines and pitfalls are presented & taught by the Church!

Again, my understanding of scripture, my doctrines and my theology doesn’t save me.  Nothing but the blood of Christ!

With regards to “deception” which all of us fears, I would think the greatest and most destructive would be self deception.  Others may fool me, Satan may fool me, but if I knowingly fool myself then my foolishness is my folly alone!

Sadly while so many today chase after the latest teaching and the newest of doctrines, I will ever press in to know the Lord’s heart! Like David, to be a man after God’s own heart reveals the greatest of truths! Firstly we must inquire to know the heart of God, then to imitate God’s heart.  Isn’t this what Christ did, imitate the Father’s heart?

Because God is resolute to insure that our hearts are right before He lets us into His home. So too is Satan resolute in trying to keep as many of us from ever knowing the Lord’s heart!

Our whole existence is about only one thing.  Accepting and entering into this Divine romance the Lord offers to us!!!

James 4:7  Submit therefore to God Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:11  Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 3:10 His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.

Colossians 2:15  And having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Eph 6: 12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.

Luke 10:19  See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

1 Corinthians 15:24  Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power.

Perhaps it’s because we aren’t at the 7th trumpet yet: “Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.”

Unfortunately, we are still in the stage described as “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

The attacks that happened to me back in July 1998 – December 1998 I eventually did find out the “why”.   I resigned from my job and then there was a delay in the move out-of-state so I quickly found a local temporary job.  Apparaently the person who wanted the position that I was hired for became resentful H.R. went to the outside and she had to report to me.  I didn’t know that she resented me nor did I realize she practiced witchcraft.  All she mentioned her favorite tv programs were “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Charm”.  We got paid weekly and had to fax over our timesheets to payroll, which was in another building 6 miles away.  I worked a lot of overtime and my hours were different every week.  I was the only one in the dept that was not getting reimbursed correctly for my hours.  They had to keep adjusting the difference in the next week check.  This went on every week for 6 months.  So she knew that curse she put on me was working because I would ask others if their paychecks were correct and everybody (30 something people) said they didn’t have a problem.  However, when the weird junk started to happen in my home  … that I never talked about.  I would just go into work with a smile on my face and say “Good Morning” even though I was dead tired because I wasn’t getting my full sleep.  At Christmas time I gave her a small gift and a card and inserted a Bible tract.  She bursted into tears and said you have been so kind to me and then said she did some awful things to me.  I said what do you mean?  She then revealed she was putting curses on me.  It just shocked me that she was the one because she put on a very good act and I never suspected her.  I then said “well, I hope you realize you are worshipping a defeated foe … Jesus Christ is God and is more powerful than satan.”  She said yes.  She probably thought none of the home junk was working because I didn’t talk about it.  I don’t know if she ever got saved because I put in my notice soon after that for the big move out-of-state and she had the nerve to say “I’m going to miss you.”   She was actually fired 2 weeks after the Christmas conversation we had.    I learned a lot through that trial.

Does Satan need to ask permission to sin?  Do you ask God permission before you lie or have an evil thought or say something harmful to someone?

Pleading the blood.  I have heard that phrase used many times by friends and family and until recently thought it a proper thing to do when under what appears to be a spiritual attack. I no longer believe that.  What I believe is that the only power needed against the enemy in the spiritual realm is to name the name that is above every name, both in the heavenly realm and on Earth.  That name is Jesus/Yeshua and if you belong to Him He is the only shield you need.  Of course, you need to belong to Him first and secondly you need to believe (faith) that name is all you need to send the enemy to where Jesus would send them.  (faith comes from hearing the Word and putting into action) Since I have believed and used that phrase which is “I rebuke you foul spirit of (fear/death/perversion/etc) in the name of Jesus the only begotten Son of God and to go wherever He would send you.”  After I had done that two or three times, I have never been attacked again.  I suspect the word got around in the spiritual realm that I was too toxic to fool with because they did not like to go where Jesus sent them.  Thank you Jesus  :dieu:

I totally agree … when under an attack you can say a prayer and until you say “in Jesus name Amen” only then did I get relief.  After that …. I just say “JESUS” and I get relief.  His name is VERY powerful.

This is my take as well, there is no scriptural basis for ‘pleading the blood’. It is the name of Jesus that every knee must bow to.

As we walk through this valley of the shadow of death, what we call life, it seems that for all of life’s concerns, troubles and heartaches it’s as if we had a crown of thorns placed upon our hearts.

And like our Savior,  that crown of thorns shall be replaced with a more glorious crown one day!

I’m interested in knowing what kind of attacks? Physical manifestations? Depression? Or worse? I agree with the comments invoking the name of Jesus (outloud) seems to work. That being said the fear can linger. It did with me after a physical attack (slept with the lights on, for months). Also have you asked other Christian’s or a pastor to pray over you or your home?

                                            The attacks vary for me.

The first time it happened a former co-worker (who was a witch) was putting spells on me.  My weekly pay checks were always incorrect. The running water was always cold when I wanted to wash up.  They killed my amaryllis plant after I said “how beautiful” and the bulb never bloom after that.  While praying the landline phone would always ring (even when I unplug the line from the wall socket).  My bedside light bulb would get unscrewed when I was reading my Bible.  While watching baseball, the linen closet door suddenly opened up and a box of tooth paste flew out into the bedroom.  I was on the sofa eating pizza and reading and I put my soda can in between the cushions.  The soda can lifted up into the air and then was placed upside down back into the cushion.  I quickly grabbed the can to flip the can back up and all the soda was completely gone. Not one drop left.   When  the physical attacks happened I would always hear a weird motor humming noise first.  Then my body was paralyzed, my eyes were always closed. It felt like they used a sword and stabbed me in the leg.  One was on top of me and was trying to squeeze my neck.  They used the voice of my mom and kept chanting my name.  After I got relief from calling out to Jesus.  I turned on my light and started reading the Bible and then prayed and said “thank you for defeating satan at the cross”.  Then when I tried to go back to sleep again they immediately came back – I was paralyzed again, they lifted my body off the bed and violently started to shake me and said “don’t say that … don’t say that”.   They hate the fact they are defeated and going to hell.  While cooking, the kitchen cabinet door suddenly opened up and the cast iron frying pan fell on my right foot.  I was barefoot and in ALOT of pain.  I prayed the swelling and pain would go away and it was fine the next day!  Why?  Because I had plans of spending the day shopping and they tried to prevent me doing so.  I had a chance to witness to the cashier at AC Moore.  The store happend to be empty at the time and we had a long conversation.  She was so happy to hear about Jesus and was thrilled when I gave her a Bible Tract to read.  She said she couldn’t wait to read it on her lunch break.  Another time I warned my sibling about a popular “Christian” author and to not buy the books/DVDs for their young kids and then that night I was under another attack.   I heard the roar of a lion.  It wasn’t Jesus but satan.  My bedroom smelled like the pit of hell (worse than the smell of coffee brewing).  I silently said “Jesus” then I felt a gust of wind come into the window causing my eyes to squint and my hair was blowing.  The wind gust was like being on a motorcycle without a helmet going 70 mph.  I saw white robes flying past.  Then I heard metal … some sword fight was happening.  Lasted about 25 seconds and then the room smelled like fresh  flowers and all was quiet.

                                            There’s more junk that happened …. I can write a book …

I talked with the youth pastor of my former home church and he never been through any attacks and pretty much looked down on me and accused me to being involved in the occult.  It was extremely hurtful.  My aunt was the only one who understood what I was going through since she experienced similar junk (at her work a warlock was bothering her) and/or knew of others and as I described the events she said yep yep they went through the same thing.

You can anoint your front and back doors with olive oil and pray for a hedge of protection over your home.  I found the demons will leave you alone if you play the Bible on CD’s and/or play music praising and glorying Jesus.

I will be praying for you!

Wow again, Geri.  Let’s just say I’m Grateful for never personally experiencing anything like those.  Maybe I just haven’t been dangerous enough to Evil. (??)  You are a brave woman.  I’m thankful for this testimony.

I’m not sure why some believers experience more of these kinds of attacks than others.  I’m just glad we have Jesus to call upon and He faithfully rescues us out of them!  Glad that finish line is up ahead.  My real name means “victorious spirit”  so hopefully I won’t be seen crawling across the line … lol
