Indeed will there be a need for prayers in Heaven?!  How about in the Temple?  Perhaps during the Millenium Reign, but how about after that, in the New Heaven and Earth?!   Hmmm

Something to ponder.  Perhaps some feedback would be helpful!

God has always relished the prayers of the saints and stored their tears.  We are told that there will be no more tears.  Will the same hold true for prayer?!  If so, then I’m out of a job!

      David W. Roche

17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.  Isaiah 65:17-24

As for heaven, I have no doubt we will pray, in praise and for other reasons.  Our communication with God will not be hindered, and our prayers will be perfectly in tune with His will.  There are some things we will no longer need to ask for:  We won’t ask God to heal us, we won’t be perplexed about His will for us, and we won’t have to pray to ask forgiveness any longer.  Instead, we will give thanks to Him and glorify His name forever.

In the last stanza of Sweet Hour of Prayer  the writer (W.W. Walford) indicates farewell farewell to prayer.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
      May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight.
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
      To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

      – Fair Use –

Then in Revelation 6:7-9  the saints are talking to the Lord and asking “how long before you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”  So it sounds like a prayer wish but its made while looking at Jesus… our faith is made sight with our petitions.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

In the Millennium Kingdom people will still be getting saved so I would think prayers will still need to be said asking for forgiveness of sins.  I wonder though if its done in person … people bowing down to Jesus while He sits and rules from His Throne because this passage indicates all are required to visit Jerusalem for worship during Feast of Tabernacles.

      Zechariah 14:16-17
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

Just spent 30 min with the Christian Coalition for the day of fasting and pray. Awesome time of warship and prayer. A challenge to place your salvation story on social media so many may see and believe. Lot of great believers leading in prayer, John Piper, Joanie Earckson Tada, ended with the Getty’s singing

leave your testimony before we go! Pray daily during Holy Week for the souls of humanity, seems to be the last big push…. :prayer-hands: :prayer-hands:
